I expected the process to take a few hours, but James responded almost immediately and told me he could have them done in just 20min! When I arrived at his office, we realized that the medals weren't made of true gold, so the original engraving method wasn't working as expected. James took the time to test different engraving machines & eventually switched to diamond-cut engraving to make sure the medals turned out right. The process ended up taking about an hour, but James was incredibly patient, professional, and welcoming throughout the entire experience. Because it took longer than he originally estimated, he even refused to charge me for the engraving, which was completely unexpected and very generous of him. Everything comes out the way it should, it's always on time, and I can't find anyone who can match their prices. The only problem with using Pololu is that there's not much human contact. In reality, I've got some names and I'm sure that I could talk to someone but I haven't tried. I'd also love to have samples of all their plexi offerings but I haven't asked. So are these legitimate criticisms? No, not really. I started off this review expecting to give Pololu four stars but as I'm writing it, I realize that they've been pretty much perfect. Thankfully, I found Pololu's site online; Arthur and the team there made the process easy and cost-effective. They walked me through the entire process and told me exactly how to select the right image and send them the objects for engraving. What a relief for someone with no prior knowledge! They responded quickly to emails, kept me up-to-date on progress, and the engraving was finished in a day or two. When I got it back, I was blown away by how good it looked that I showed it off around the office. The cost was less than $50 for a 8.5"x11" engraving, a better price than all of the other places I heard about. Go to them if you need an engraving done, I can't imagine a better laser cutting company out there.
