I will never go to ABC again my husband told me about the coworkers dog passing away after being fixed at this facility and I thought maybe it was maybe a weird situation. But it wasn't my cat could have died and they didn't care nor did they offer to pay for their mess up! We have to take her in to Barstow animal hospital to get her infection cleaned up and restitched to fix their mistake at ABC. I'm mad also about how long it took them I drop her off in the morning they said 1pm she was gonna be done. I called and they said she hasn't even been seen yet. Then.. they called me back to say she wasn't gonna be ready Til 4:30. Three days later it wasn't healing or looked right at all I call back and they said because of Covid I needed to go elsewhere and that was it?! No, help nothing. I brought my dog here to get his yearly vaccines, and he even had his surgery there done! Fast forward, next year--it's time for my dog's annual vaccines again. I called to make an appointment, and they couldn't find my profile...smh! I gave them my info along with my dogs' info, and they still can't find my profile?! I said my dog had surgery there a year ago and got his vaccines there a year ago. How do you not have his folder? After being on hold for over 20 minutes, somehow, they found the folder and gave me an appointment... I go there, and my dog gets his vaccines. Paid and done deal! A few weeks later, I needed copies of the vaccinations for the pet hotel as they requested it. I called to ask for copies, and once again, they informed me "that they can't find my information/folder"! Even though I gave them my personal information like six times, they still had the nerve to ask me if my dog name was "Benny"! I repeated to them multiple times that my dog name is not "Benny," and yet again, while waiting on the phone, they ask me again, "is your dog name Benny?". I said I was just there a few weeks ago! and this is the second time you guys cannot find my information?! I was put on hold for 20 minutes again! and decided to walk in--while I'm still on hold on the phone! This place is a horrible vet! Dr Bell refuses to talk to owners when they call. Extremely unprofessional staff. They do awful surgeries and have killed a number of pets due to negligence. Avoid this place. So many people have had terrible experiences. They delete facebook reviews that are negative. Waste of time. Told me they dont take appts to get a rabies shot, they close at 5pm and are not open on Saturdays. Ok. I get off work at 430. I hauled ass after to work to get my dog there at 440 just to be told that the vet had left. And not told by the lady at the front desk who had already locked the door and was pretending she didnt see me at the window. I had to go back to my vehicle and call to ask why the door was locked. That's the point of taking appointments, you morons: so I am not wasting my time chasing after a vet for a procedure ANYONE WITH THUMBS could do. I took my dog there on Labor Day because he was really sick so we took him there, they did some blood tests and x-rays. They said it was just constipation and that he was ok so they give us some medication they had charged us about 360. But then it got worse and worse so we took him somewhere else that's when they told use that he had a brain tumor. He was not ok. It was not constipation they had lied to us. I had an appointment at 2pm so I checked in at 1:45 and because of covid I had to wait in my car (even though everything is opening up and not even the front office was wearing a mask). Might I add its 100 degrees. So I don't get a call until 2 to ask to fill out paperwork. So I fill it out and go back to my car. 30 minutes later, nothing. So I called them and they told me that the doctor is doing surgery and all the rooms are full. So I'm thinking, why schedule an appointment when you know you have a surgery before the appointment and you know it will take a while. And the fact that I had to ask for an update because they didn't bother letting me know what was going on and why it was taking so long. So 10 minutes later they call me saying that the doctor is still in surgery but that i can come into the room. I go into the room waiting with my dog and 20 minutes pass and still my dog hasn't been seen. So my appointment was over an hour ago. Might I add I came in for vaccines that's it. Shouldn't take so long. At this point I'm over it and I told the front lady that Im going to go somewhere else instead. She blows a gum bubble and tells me "okay that's fine". Never again read more

So ABC is under new ownership since the last time I wrote a review, and I like them a lot better this time. They didn't try to pressure me into extra services, and helped my dog get what he needed. My dog was in a fight, so I needed a clinic close by and one that is willing to take my dog in during this time. They were nice enough to give their first cancellation to my baby boy. The only con is I think they are a little pricey, but I paid it anyway because my dog was in pain. They told me they gave him an injection for itching, and I paid $105 in total. I wish I knew what they gave him for it to be that expensive, the receipt didn't say what it was and I can't remember what I saw on the consent form. They should also give owners detailed instructions on what needs to be done at home. I was told to just give him warm compresses, but I don't really know how often I need to do this. Their staff is really kind and caring, and I have yet to meet the doctor. This is the only vet I will go to in Barstow if my SB vet is unable to take my dogs. The thing about vets is that ownerships and the doctors change all the time, so it's good to give a vet another chance when things change to see if it improved. I know someone who owns a clinic in barstow and they always struggle to find vets that want to stay in Barstow, and I'm told this is why they charge so much. After many visits to the vet to try to figure out what's wrong with my boyfriend's dog, she finally was recently diagnosed with diabetes. They have ran plenty of blood work during prior visits and multiple doctors have seen the dog. No one could tell is anything. She shortly passed this morning at home with not a week of her confirmed diagnosis. Take the drive over to Victorville and avoid this clinic at all costs. PRICE GOUGING AT IT'S BEST & VERY SPITEFULL!! This company preys on the love you have for your pet! I made an appointment for my dog with this vet over a month ago & they told me over the phone that it would be $95. When I get to my appointment they tell me that since I have a county spay/neuter voucher & voucher from a charity to help me pay for the visit I don't get the spay/neuter day price I have to pay full price of $105, plus I had to pay extra for my dogs pain medicine, antibiotics, I.V. fluids & a booster vaccine shot which added up to $171 after my vouchers. They called me & I missed the call so I called them back & they tell me my dog was in heat in which I know for a fact she was not, hence the reason I waited over a month for the appointment. So that is another $60 on top of the $171. I told them I cant afford to pay the extra money because my dog was not in heat the vet told that they would not give me they spay cert I was like that's fine. They also told me they will not give me my dog back. Then they call me back & tell me the vet said she would give me the spay cert but the vet will not give me my dogs medication (that I already paid for!) they told me again they would not give me my dog back; so if I don't pay the extra fee's they will keep my dog & not give me her medication & let her be in pain. I had a appointment for my cat at 1 and they never called me to confirm I would be there like they said they would. I was at work and just got off and got to there vet by 1:17 and they told me I was over a 15 min late period witch they never told me about. So even tho I was outside and ready with the pet 2 min after there late period. They turned me away and were extremely rude. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. 11 different reptiles. If I could give no stars, I would. Worst clinic ever. My very sick dog got refused services. They told me it would be $243 for services for my dog come to find out the xrays were not added to that price as they initially said it was. Price was now $343, and also did not include medications(they couldn't tell me total because they didn't know price of medications)I was kinda in shock because the price had changed so much. My boyfriend came and wanted to see our pup in the back, instead the vet brought our dog back up and said the vet is declining services because we are back and forth on the price. I never once said we didn't want services, I was in shock with the increase in price( their fault for miscalculation and not adding xrays) I was upset but was going to move forward with everything, but got declined services. read more

They're open. I took my 7 week old kittens in the other day and the staff was very friendly. I haven't had pets in a while, so I looked at reviews to help me decide where to go, but everywhere I tried had some really awesome reviews and some that would scare anyone away. But we used to take our pets here when I was a kid and they were very nice, so I figured I'd stick with them. They haven't done anything thus far that would make me want to take my pets anywhere else. From what I've seen, they care. I called this vet last week because my dog was in horrible pain, couldn't get up, wasn't eating, and some other issues. They asked when I wanted to bring her in and when I said that day they informed me that the vet was leaving early and asked what other day I'd want to bring her in. So I said the next day, a Saturday, and was told they were closed on weekends. They then suggested I go to the vet by the pound. Their lack of concern or care that my dog was in pain and have serious problems shows me that they are not a great vet and would not give the care and love to an animal that I would want from a vet when my animal needs help. My family and I will never use this vet and will go to the companion vet just down the street because they actually care about their clients. read more

Went because my dog had a seizure. I was very disappointed at the cleanliness of the place. The tech, Yuri, was rough with my dog and even pulled her legs out to lay her down (on the floor - which my dog landed hard on). They left me in the room over 1/2 hour...I phoned the office to let them know I was still here!!!! They charged me over $200 for bloodwork, temperature, and a shot of diazepham. I am not even sure which person was the vet. No one examined her body. One person looked in her eyes. I won't be going back ever. read more

it all started after I got my baby yorkie.. I didn't know much about how sensitive and delicate they are. my little Lucy is just barely 2 lbs. I own the local tanning salon.she comes to work with me everyday. I noticed she was lethargic and kinda out of it. I started freaking out cause I just got her,that's my baby! I called for someone to cover for me and I was about to just drive her to my husbands dogs vet way down on E Main st...but while I was waiting for my cover,I called ABC clinic. I don't remember who I spoke to,but instead of telling me to bring her in and pay for them to assess her,the woman asked me what was wrong. I explained and she told me that it sounds like hypoglycemia. I had just recently gotten my Lucy,she was going through stress from the long driving,new environment,she wasn't eating like she should-small dogs can have this issue easily. The woman then told me to try putting honey or karo syrup on her gums and feed her some quality wet food,give it a few minutes to see if she comes around, if not then to bring her in.....well i did the honey and food and sure enough,she got better!! I got help over the phone without paying a dime..and THAT RIGHT THERE is exactly why I will be spending my money for my Lucy there from now on. Plus the fact when I took her to get her puppy package,they were all very kind and listened.they took their time and thoroughly looked her over and gave her a clean bill of health. Quality Poor Sad ~ But True. This has been where I've taken my animals to for many years. It was great when Dr. Rao was in charge. Luckily ~ Debbie still continues to works there and is wonderful with not only the patients, but their families. Yesteday I called for an emergency and spoke with Paul (the owner). I was told that he would be at the office at 9:00 a.m. and that I could bring my dog there at that time. I was also told that there would be an additional emergency fee since it was on Sunday. No Problem! He asked what the problem was and I explained that my dog was having difficulty breathing. Long story short ~ I arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. and waited for 18 minutes. We waited in the parking lot with my dog in distress and no one ever arrived! My dog died in my arms and suffered an agonizing death. I called this morning to the clinic and left a message for the owner ~ and as yet ~ not even the decency to return my call. Dr. Rao would have NEVER treated his patients like this! But then again ~ he cared for the animals ~ unlike you. Karma ~ It's the real deal and it's coming your way. read more

I did not enjoy Dr. Miskos service.. He's very slow and I asked how long to get an X Ray printed out and he said "ask them".. Lousy customer service skills.. I was the only customer there and it took them 30 mins to see my dog and another before the X Ray was take .. Go with the female Dr.. I was told she was a lot nicer! read more

I advised my family not to bring there pets here ever again. Over the summer I was visiting my family in Barstow and my mom's pitbull ripped her dew claw so I took her to ABC Animal Clinic to get it checked out and make sure it did not need to be cut and bandaged. When the Doctor came in to examine Vicky (the dog) he took about thirty seconds to look at her without laying a single hand on her before prescribing her antibiotics and pain killers. I also asked that she get a rabies vaccine before we leave and he said a tech would be in to give it to her, again without laying a single hand on her or at least doing a TPR (temperature, pulse and respiratory rate). Vaccines alter anyone's immune system, and I do not understand how you are okay with doing that to an animal without assessing that they are healthy enough to do this. I am currently a second year veterinary student and there is no way in practice that I would prescribe medication and give a vaccine without performing a ohysical exam. I will never be taking my animals there. read more

I wish I would have read the previous reviews prior to visiting this place. Although the receptionist was pleasant I did not feel my pup received attentive care given his extreme declining health. In the examine room the Dr. barely did a full examination rather just recommended doing blood work and x-rays. These are not cheap services on top of the standard Dr visit fee but we wanted to find out what was wrong with our sick pup. Our pup was fully vaccinated and healthy but got suddenly sick a couple days prior to our visit. Ultimately, the Dr. could not explain why our pup was sick only to state he had a low count of white blood cells. We ended up leaving our pup there because the Dr. stated he may potentially have a 'viral infection' and he was put on an iv w/ antibiotics. I am not a Vet or familiar with treatments, but later I discovered a "virus" can't be "treated with antibiotics". ugh. Sadly, our pup did not make it and passed overnight. If we were properly informed that our pup would not have made it, or that the IV treatment may have an extremely low success rate, it we would've taken him home with us to at least be with us comfortably, with his FAMILY prior to passing. Our pup died alone and when I requested to see him the technician was so insensitive and said well he is already in the freezer packaged. Horrible. Couldn't even wait an hour for us to come see our pup before proceeding with his remains. SMH. As I have stated before I am no Vet or an expert, but if our pup was that severly ill where he would have no chance of living we would have preferred to be properly informed so that we could've made other arrangements. read more
