She suggested slight alterations that I didn't even think of to make the dress fit better (ex: getting rid of some extra material on the top, adding a bustle, adding reenforcement to the straps). This review is LONG overdue. My wedding was planned to be in July of 2020, but you know how that story goes, COVID threw us a curveball and we had to postpone our big celebration for an entire year. We tried to make our original date work until the very last minute when everything shut down again. I found Abby in early 2020. I was having trouble finding anyone open and/or willing to work in the pandemic, but luckily she made time to see me. She was extremely professional, asked all the necessary questions, and gave me a quote for every specific alteration I needed. And it was a very fair quote. I met her just a few months before our original date for my first fitting and she was the sweetest. So down to earth and very welcoming. She even told me about her gorgeous wedding dress that she made for her own wedding day! The fitting went great and she asked me to come back in a week to try it on again. I did and it was beautiful! She did everything I asked (hemmed the multiple layers, added a bustle, sewed on the added belt, sewed on the straps and made them removable. She also steamed it so it would be ready to go). She was even able to quickly fix a couple things she noticed once I tried it on so that I could take it home right away. It was perfect! A year goes by and I try on my dress again for our 2021 wedding and of course, it no longer fits perfectly. I frantically email Abby to see if there was anything she could do and she was more than happy to fix anything to make it perfect. We brought it in and she fixed it in about a week. The most amazing part was that she charged me almost nothing! She is such an angel. You can tell she truly cares and loves what she does. I could not say enough nice things about her. I received my wedding dress from "Here comes the Bride" in Mission Valley. They wanted to charge a very pricey fee for alternations. A flat rate of $500 dollars. I was shocked. Seeing as my wedding day is 3 weeks away, I was a little concerned about finding somebody who would help me in that time frame. After finding Abby on yelp and reading all of her great reviews I brought her my BHLDN dress that needed minimal alterations. On the first visit she took measurements and we discussed what needed to be adjusted. I had emailed her that week in regards to the cups of the dress that seemed a little high after our measurements that needed some extra attention but was not able to get a solid response. I returned two weeks later for my follow up appointment, which she had forgotten about and was caught off guard when I showed. Before I even put on my dress I noticed a small brown stain on the bust that was not there when I dropped it off. When I addressed the stain she seemed to not know anything about it! The dress was delivered and inspected when I received it and did it come out of its bag until it was brought to Abby. There were also some seam issues in the bust where the fabric seemed to be pulling and bunching across my chest. She agreed to "try and fix it" while adding an additional charge. I left my dress in a panic and went back for my final fitting the next week. The stain was gone but the issue in the bust seemed to be worse then before. The front of the dress was lumpy and uneven with random seems on each cup. She saw my dissatisfaction and said we can "try" again. At this point I just wanted to get out of there. I paid my balance and took my dress. Now a week later after having the original store look at the dress it must be altered back to its original state to correct the poor uneven execution of Abby. It is fixable but will cost double of what I paid her to repair all of the issues she created. It's a brides worst nightmare! I DO NOT recommend using Abby's alterations! And I am requesting a full refund read more
