I had the misfortune of having a mortgage with the Abbey in Helensburgh for a full 25 years. Thankfully it's now gone, but I still call in from time-to-time as I still have a small savings account there. Throughout those years, I always found them to be very helpful with any enquiries and generally competent in all dealings: this is more than you can say about most banks in this day and age. They're in a very prominent position at the main crossroad intersection in the town centre, so you can't park immediately outside but normally you can get a space nearby. You don't usually have to wait too long to be served inside the branch, I suppose most people do their banking online these days which helps. I understand that this branch is shortly to be re-branded as 'Santander' - hopefully they'll bring a little bit of Spanish weather to Helensburgh with them! read more
