Another nice old stone building (actually 2 buildings), very close to Lanercost Priory, on a small country road, and convenient for Hadrian Wall Path walkers. Rooms were reasonably priced.
My room was a small en suite meant for a single, with a small but perfectly functional bathroom. The bed was comfortable. There was virtually no traffic outside at night, resulting in a great night's sleep. The shower enclosure was small, but the water was nice and hot.
Breakfast, cooked by the host, is served at a variety of times. There are various choices for breakfast, and everything tasted great. Dinner is also available if arranged in advance, and served at 7. It is chef's choice. If you choose this option, going by my own experience, you will not be disappointed.
If hiking the trail or touring the Abbey, this is a great choice for a night's rest. read more
