Super fancy restaurant.. we were super under dressed in white tees and jeans. Please make a little more effort to dress up, otherwise it's very obvious you're a tourist! This place is fancy, like they take away your plates and utensils in between courses fancy. We were the only tourists here for dinner, mostly a local restaurant.
We weren't very hungry, just came to try out the fideada or fideua, which is the noodle version of paella instead of rice. This restaurant was recommended in a magazine for their fideada. The noodles are short and super thin, reminding us of pancit in Phillipino cuisine (maybe the pancit noodles are from Spain!). The fideada is really good here and a nice change from paella. We got the first fideada on the menu which was tuna with artichokes and baby garlic. There were huge chunks of tuna that were obviously not canned and was still a little raw in the very middle so it was like seared tuna. Artichokes were good and the baby garlic is the garlic stems, not actual garlic like I originally thought.
The Abadia salad is interesting.. seems more like coleslaw with lots of mayo than an actual salad. I was happy to eat it though as it tasted great and I needed a change from all the deep fried tapas we'd been having.
Water is not provided for free, you're buying a half liter or liter of water. We got water and some white wine to compliment the fish. Also if they ask for bread and you say yes, you've bought bread. This is also not free.
Yelp says that this place is €€€ but honestly, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were with the great service and fancy table setting. I would definitely recommend this place! read more
