    Prior to getting married back in May, I went to Moss and ordered furniture for my whole house in…read moreFeb. OMG. The biggest mistake I ever made in my life. Despite the bad reputation that they have, we still went there to support them. Robert M. has no idea what he is talking about. They dont have the best deals. Everything we ordered 4-5 months to arrive and when they did they were damaged. And it takes just as long to replace your damaged goods. They have been giving me the run around since day one, and yesterday was just the last straw. Ordering your furniture for your home should be a pleaseant experince and you should love what you are ordering. Not looking through books and picking what you might or might not love. And once they get your money- thats it they treat you like garbage. We spent a lot of money there. And I am begging you all- save yourself the heartache and suffering. Go somewhere else. Anywhere! I have been biting my tongue with them for months and been really trying to be patient with them- but when calling yesterday regarding a leather couch that I recieved back in May that was damaged- HELLO DIDNT I SAY I GOT THE COUCH IN MAY?! I was calling to see what the status was on my new couch-I mean its only been 6 months almost 7! I was calling to ask about my replacement.....I was told "it wasnt ordered due to the previous owner"! Ummm- that was it. I couldnt take it anymore. I am 6 months pregnant and I want to focus on my baby not furniture war! My husband was furious! We did file a report to the Better Business Bureau and we have contacted a lawyer- and we want our money back for 2 couches that cost over $3,000! And we want our money back for a $1400 credit we have! Enough was enough! People- if you go here- dont say I didnt warn you. And my aunt a few years back went through the samething. She was sent a desk with missing knobs and broken pieces. She did get her money back with help with her lawyer.....but was charged a restocking fee! Im sorry. I will not be paying a restocking fee! Im not going to pay for their mistakes and horrible service and poor quality of furniture! Like I said, dont say I didnt warn you. And I promise you-if you do and you do order from them- you will be saying "I wish I listened to Renee on Yelp"! No one deserves to be treated like this. We spent a lot and I do mean a lot of money- its not true when they say "you get what you pay for". Well, it is kind of true- just not from Moss. OH and BONUS INFO- ART VAN carries the same books you see at MOSS. NOT KIDDING! I have seen them with my own eyes! And at least you will be treated better there and wont be treated like garbage prior to paying for everything! I dont care if MOSS & ASSOSIATES see this! I was very specific about my review so they know we werent bluffing! SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE!     Nine + months, yes 9 months and counting for my full furniture order to arrive. The salesman,…read moreChuck Mielke, won't return calls. I happen to work in the area and have gone in over a half dozen times. Never have I gotten a straight answer. First the workers in North Carolina took an early vacation.. next the fabric had to be totally replaced due to the ream running out and the two patterns might not match up 100% if not from the same cloth ream.. next the furniture was in China, yes China, having the fabric cut to size and pillows made.. then the furniture has to be shipped back to North Carolina... then the INS/ICE/Homeland Security arrested 250+ workers for immigration violations in North Carolina (so far the INS/ICE part is the only really verifiable thing Moss has told me)...next the furniture missed the truck but would surely make the next delivery in a "few weeks". Well, Moss & Associates held my $900 for over 7 months and I finally received my sofa and love seat...just a little damaged. I refused to pay the rest of the C.O.D. until it was repaired. Wouldn't you know it, repair man made it out that day instead of the 2 weeks I was initially told. Still waiting on my chair. Seven months to get a sofa & love seat; nine months and no accent chair. Channel 7 News did a few stories on Moss & Associates after I received my sofa & love seat. Turns out Moods has done this to many other customers. Moss owes so many manufacturers $ that the manufacturer won't build or ship until Moss pays in full; this was told to me a Moss worker. So from what I can gather, Moss uses current customer down payments to pay for prior customer orders....thus the 7 months to get an order that was promised in 7 weeks. Short of a Ponzi scheme in my eyes. Run far away from this business. Albert's in Lincoln Park can order the same furniture and actually quoted me a better price by $400 and free shipping. I had Moss match the deal and now regret it. Missed an Anniversary and 2 children's birthday parties by using Moses; by miss I mean we had to use our older and broken down couches for those parties. If we got the delivery in the 7 weeks e were quoted and promised I would give Moss 4 stars; as I sit now I'd give -3 stars if that was an option, it isn't so 1 star. The delivery guys greeted me by saying, "just so you know we do accept tips" and had their hands out, palms up. I declined and stated 7 + months was a bit too long to wait for a couch....plus the knuckle heads had my furniture loose and unsecured in the back of the truck. Tip! Tip! How about not damaging my couch. That's a to for you. I s told by Chuck, the salesman, the couch would be delivered in a crate and I would be responsible to dispose of the crate..... No crate... Just loose, unsecured and unwrapped furniture. Google the Channel 7 News story. Do not order from Moss. They may have been a good company years ago but 2013 has shown me they are aloof, liars, curt and above all dishonest. There must be a Chapter 7 in their future. No way can a business operate like this...at least not for long.
