My wife and I took a weekend trip over to Lake George from NYC, and we wanted to try ice fishing. As complete beginner's with fishing, we relied heavily on Capt JJ, and he came through. He got there to the meeting spot ahead of time, brought out all the gear to the fishing spot on the lake, reserved a parking space for us, and then when my wife and I arrived, he drove us out there in his ATV. He had all the bare essential gears of ice fishing, sonar machine, numerous lures, as well as all other gear for creature comfort such as dual tents so we can fish separately if desired, Sun warming pop up tent, and a heater. Then, as my wife and I were fishing, he rode around and drilled more holes, so that we could try our luck at different loca tions. Additionally, he drilled some holes and set these 'Tip ups', which are spring operated contraptions, leave alone lines with lures, that would alert us when there's a possible bite. All in all, he drilled around 10-13 holes for us to work with. We were out there on the frozen lake for about 4.5-5 hours, and we caught a 29" Lake Trout. Overall, we had a great time out there, learned a lot about Ice fishing, frozen lakes, got some nice picture moments in, and walked away with a beautiful, fresh as can be, whole trout. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

My novice nephew came too, and caught more than all of us combined. Jeff was super considerate and patient, explained every move he made, and did all he could to ensure we had an enjoyable excursion. I think he'd be great for beginners and veterans I fully intend to do this again next year, and maybe before.

What an amazing experience!…read more My boyfriend, family and I rented a chartered boat for a few hours. We enjoyed the sightseeing and the overall relaxing atmosphere on the boat. The breeze was perfect! Highly enjoyable after being in the sun all day. We were even able to take a little swim which was also perfect. The water was the perfect temperature and I was surprised that it was somewhat clear! Very refreshing, We were also able to drink on the boat, so that we did! It was the perfect afternoon! Had a fantastic time at Revolution Rail with a group of other people from a conference being held…read morein nearby Lake Placid. The ride on the rails from North Creek was beautiful. All of the staff was helpful and friendly...especially our bus driver and the 3 guys working on the rails and accompanying us during our ride. We learned the history of the area and how this rail trail came to be. The guide who gave us the history info was super personable and knew so much great history! Loved riding through the forest and seeing streams, small waterfalls and crossing the trestle bridge over the Hudson River was spectacular. It was nice that there were ponchos and umbrellas given to us for our ride and that the guides took our photos for us. It was a great excursion in a spectacular setting. I would highly recommend a rail bike ride at Revolution Rail in the Adirondacks!
