We went to many private owners and dealerships that sold old and new boats in the Lake George area, but when we entered Yankee Boating, being greeted by Brian MacDuff (Sales Manager), right away we felt like VIPs and Brian's attention to detail and to our needs as new boat owners was just incredible. What's more amazing is that, although we ended up purchasing a used boat from Yankee, Brian never let up on his attention to detail and personal touch, and made sure we left Yankee with an amazing 2014 Monetary 204 FS. This has been an incredible experience that I know we would not have found anywhere else. It doesn't stop there; the entire team at Yankee Boating continued our amazing experience. We had a full day of fun which included tubing, swimming, and lakeside restaurant dining. A message to others that rent a boat from Chric's Marina. Be sure that your area is attentive to all the contractual commitments before signing. We were uncertain about the weather before, the day of our rental since it was raining slightly. But fortunately, it was the best day of the week. Canceling for rainy weather may not be an option.

Our trailer may have been slightly hanging over a driveway by a few inches, but we were dealing with a 26-foot vehicle plus trailer in a tight area and did our best to park as instructed. Instead of handling it professionally, a gentleman in a red pickup truck approached us aggressively, cursed at me, repeatedly told us we were "done," and said our trip would be over before it started. This all happened in front of another employee. I moved the vehicle as directed and did not escalate, but the interaction left a very uneasy feeling. It was the complete opposite of customer service, and based on that experience, I would never do business with Chic's Marina again.

The boat attendant was really friendly and helpful, ensuring that we got on and off okay and there to answer any questions! We also priced out Chic's and found the pricing here to be a bit more fair. The owner didn't provide us with bike locks or baskets and did not specify when to return the bikes. We couldn't step foot into the shop, had to stand outside and couldn't choose which bike we wanted. My father who is a mountain biker noticed that the bike he gave me had broken gears and the front tire was flat. The owner then rode it around the parking lot, didn't say anything, and gave me a new bike. Then, after a short bike ride, my boyfriend noticed the same thing was wrong with his bike, not going into gear. The owner clearly doesn't check his bikes, care about safety, or his customers. When we told him about the issues with the bikes, all he said was "ok." We only rented them here because it was so close to where we were staying in Lake George, but if we were renting them longer, we would have opted for a different place and I highly recommend you do the same. Not only will your patronage be a hassle, but you will be ripped off or hurt from their terrible bikes.
