Found this on the internet yesterday…read more Sad and tragic news regarding Tom. ----- Obituary for Thomas P. Jones V November 29, 1987-August 18, 2022 Thomas P. Jones V has sadly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He died doing something he truly enjoyed. Thomas graduated from South Glens Falls in 2006 and continued on to get an Associate's degree from ACC. After graduating from ACC, he worked at Trustco bank in South Glens Falls for a short time until he realized that he had to follow his dreams. Five years ago, he decided he wanted to open his own business and that is when Devocean Watersports was born. He managed to put together a great team of employees that helped him with boat charters and jet-ski tours on Lake George, out of the hotel "Twin Birches." Thomas loved his business and put everything he had into it. His smile and enthusiasm was infectious to everyone he met along his journey in life. He really enjoyed teaching people how to do things that was out of their norm. Thomas also made many friends down in Marathon within the keys were he went every winter, enjoying life to the fullest. He was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Jones IV. Thomas is survived by his mother Denise Jones, his brother Patrick Jones, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowen and two uncles Christopher and Bob Bowen. Family and friends may call from 10 am to 12 noon on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Rd., Queensbury, NY. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury, NY. A celebration of Thomas' life will continue at the Highland Country Club immediately following the burial. Please no suits, wear flip flops and don't forget to bring stickers. https://www.sbfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Thomas-Jones-123/#!/Obituary ------ Tom, May You Rest In Eternal Peace. I always, and I mean ALWAYS, had a great time jet skiing with you every summer since you opened your business in 2017. My most sincere condolences to your family and friends. Until we meet again...

We did the 1 hour cruise on the Horicon last week while on our vacation in Lake George. It's a…read moregreat way to take in all the scenic views of the lake, and get a little history lesson to boot. We also enjoyed a few cocktails from the bar. The cruise is dog friendly too, that was important for us, because our mini-poodle wanted to go. Reading many negative reviews concerning the crew, but we thought they were friendly & very professional. The Captain is proud native of the area. We'd recommend this shoreline cruise to any First Timers to Lake George. But basically, it's the kind of activity you do once, One & Done.

What a disappointing experience to start off 2024!…read more Overpriced and underdelivered! Terrible value for the cost. The food was poor and ran out early on. The first deck was overcrowded making exit in case of an emergency nearly impossible and producing a disaster. The first deck was very cold despite being advertised as heated. Only the crowd did anything to warm up the room. The price of $50 per person was overly expensive and we were unaware, until boarding, that it included food and entertainment at the restaurant on land. We were not interested and would have preferred a two-tier price structure. Also, the window flaps were filthy and we could barfely see outside. I will not book with you again.

If you are looking for a fun/party boat to charter this is NOT the answer. I do not recommend…read more When you charter a boat you are paying for your time, in this case 5 hours. When we boarded the boat our first stop was to get gas....our Captain Tom had not even filled the boat with gas prior to our arrival which cut into our paid time. NOT ONCE - did Tom ask us where we wanted to go or what we wanted to do. Zero stars for customer service. The water on Lake George is beautiful and all we wanted to do was anchor down at some point and swim in the water, hang out on our floats and drink. Tom took us about an hour and 45 minutes into the lake, 3.5hrs of total commute time, which allowed us only about an hour of our own water time. On the way home, after drinking for a few hours on the boat, we asked if he could stop for a moment so a few of us could hop off the boat to pee. He told us to hold it. When we explained it was urgent he said he would pull over at the next island (20 minutes away). Tom then proceeded to right past the island without warning as if we wouldn't notice. We finally had to repeatedly ask him to stop until he did. Tom also slammed on his breaks at one point, flooding the floor of the boat and completely soaking our personal items in order to tell someone they needed to move. Which is something he could've just asked politely for. Although a safe Captain, I really couldn't believe how bad Tom was as a host.

This service discriminated and will not provide service to disabled customers. I am a US Service…read moreDisabled Veteran who uses the assurance of a trained Service Dog. I was part of a group of 8 Veterans looking to take a tour and refused service on the grounds of "insurance" not covering a dog and getting in the way if there was an emergency. I explained my dog (who regularly flys on US and International airlines) is well trained and stays under my control; and explained the ADA requirement to which "Tom" replied he can't even bring his own dog on the boat. I agreed to disagree and confirmed through the US Dept of Justice ADA hotline that "insurance" is not a valid reason and a service dog is not considered to not pose a threat to health and safety. The discriminatory practices of this business and particularly against Disabled Veterans should not be supported by anyone's patronage. If there concerned about a service animal being an obstacle to safety then obviously anyone with mobility or vision issue would equally not be accommodated I imagine. I will be filing a complaint with the Dept of Justice and NY State to see these discriminatory practices resolved.
