There is a real emphasis of welcoming new patients and putting them at ease. Unfortunately, I had a problem that had to be handled by an oral surgeon. Instead of bidding me goodbye, Dr. Waters started calling some of his colleges and found someone who could see me the same day! Needless to say, while I was disappointed Dr. Waters (I really like him) couldn't help me that day, I will be going to his (and his wife who practices with him) clinic from now on. Who doesn't love the idea of actually looking forward to seeing their dentist?! Luckily, Dr. Swankhouse and her team were great. They got me in quickly and made the experience as painless as possible for a dental procedure. Dr. Swankhouse is great at explaining her medical recommendation in layman's terms. I explained to her my dental history and concerns. She, in turn, took the time to do a thorough exam and give me well thought out recommendations. Good dentists have to be good mind readers because its so hard to talk during a dental procedure! Dr. Swankhouse so far is one of the best. Ever time I asked to pause the procedure she new exactly what I needed - a break, readjustment, suction. Oh and the amenities. Yes amenities at a dental office. I was offered (and took full advantage of) a Kindle and headphones to listen to music during the procedure, MASSAGE CHAIR, and a lavender hand towel to freshen up when they were done. Don't worry the massage chair is very subtle. Just enough to relax and distract you from the actual dental work. Lastly, pristine cleanliness. Always important for a dental office but especially now. Quick medical screening and temperature check, appropriate use of PPE, screen guards for check in/out, lots of hand san and hand washing. I felt very safe here. Dr Bennett and his team have integrity and it really shows with their work. Recently I came in after not having a cleaning in a long time. Dr Bennett explained the condition of my teeth, where things looked good and potential areas of concern. It was almost like he was explaining it to a first year dental student, and it helped demystify the process. Ultimately, my teeth passed the inspection, and I did not need any additional work. I was happy to hear that, though it was his X-ray explanations that gave me peace of mind. Also, I had a question about whitening products. His staff told me the pros and cons of each method so I can make an educated choice for my teeth, instead of just encouraging the most expensive option. I recently moved into the area and was looking for dentists close to Belmar. Upon reading the positive reviews of Mile High Smiles, I decided to try it out. There are many factors contributing to my five star review. One component that I appreciated from this facility is that I had the opportunity to fill out all of my patient forms prior to coming to the appointment. This was definitely both a time and tree saver. Secondly, the dental hygienist, Shannon, was extremely personable and thorough both when conversing and when working on my teeth. I was made to feel welcome and comfortable throughout the entire process, and took care to write down a lot of notes before introducing me to the doctor (e.g. what my priorities are, if I have any apprehensions, what is important to me in a dentist, etc.) The doctor was courteous, detailed and speedy in his evaluation. I also do have to say that the sea salt wash for the polishing was a surprisingly tolerable alternative to traditional polishing! When I sat down the dental nurse approached my face with a syringe for numbing.... I was confused on why I needed this for temporary veneers so I jerked my face back and asked nicely why this was needed. The nurse responded "you need to be numb" I asked why ask and she just repeated... so I asked again then she responded "for the procedure" at this point I was extremely confused so I asked what procedure. We went back and forth for a little with no change until she told me the medical name of the procedure which i didn't understand and once again we went back and forth while she repeated the medical name to me. At this point I began to get scared and started crying and yelling which then the dentist stepped in and also repeated the same thing to me. Finally they explained that they were going to be using a laser to melt off a bit of my gums. THIS WAS NEVER EVER BROUGHT UP TO ME UNTIL THIS INCIDENT. I even turned to my mom and said "i thought i was just getting temps" SHE RESPONDED "me too". They sent me home with anxiety pills so I can come in a different day to get the producer done. sorry for the long story but details are important. OVERALL VERY SKETCHY PLACE.

She genuinely wants to know about her patients lives and makes sitting in the chair a breeze. I've also never felt pressured into getting dental treatments that weren't necessary.
