I have a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country that had the right rear tire grinding veryyyy badly. After driving around to various mechanic shops in town, I decided to come on yelp to check their reviews. Most of them were horrible, except for this one and another shop in a different town. So early Saturday morning I walked into this Aamco shop without an appointment and was greeted by Louis. I explaied the problem to him and he put my car on the lift and checked it out. He called me in to show me what the problem was. I really appreciate that he did not treat me like most places treat a woman, like we're dumb preschoolers and do not understand mechanics. He gave me a price and a time limit to get the job done, which I agreed to. He changed the rear brakes, rotors, and the right caliper. The work was done quickly and at a reasonably price. I was given a receipt itemizing the charges and a warranty as well. My car is once again running smoothly. I am very pleased with their service and will be using them in the future. As a long time tech, I found myself in an unusual situation. I needed to find a shop to do some transmission work when I was medically unable to do the work myself. Knowing this industry, and it's rough image, I was not sure I'd be able to find someone reputable. After reading all of these reviews about Brian and his shop, it all seemed to good to be true. All it took was 5 minutes of conversation with him, in person, and on a professional level, and I knew this guy was legit. There is no BS, no bait, no surprises. Not only did his shop do the work I needed correctly, he did it ridiculously quick. The vehicle, a Lexus GX470 with 420k miles (yes, that is accurate) is running great. Fantastic service, great people. Brought my 2008 kia in, check engine light came on. Brian, checked it out and said it was a speed sensor on the transmission but he would have to take it apart to check it out and he could not do it today. He told me to call him the next day at 830 am instead of leaving it there for nothing and having to rent a car for nothing, the next day I brought the car in and he confirmed it was the speed sensor and ordered the part. The car is running as good as new. I wasn't over charged I feel comfortable with Brian. Thanks for the good service! On Sunday 3/22 the check engine light came back on, on Monday I brought it back up to Brian and on Tuesday he was able to check it out. Brian, who runs the show, is amazing and a man of his word. I had an issue with my Lexus's transmission, brought it in for a new transmission and got a warranty. Then, a year later, an unrelated problem occurred and it required the transmission to be removed (19 hours of labor for a Lexus, crazy!) just to get to it. Even though it technically wasn't covered in the warranty as it wasn't a transmission problem, and had nothing to do with the work his crew had done, Brian and AAMCO fixed it without a charge because they felt it was the right thing to do. It saved us a lot of money at a financially difficult time. I can't say enough about Brian's integrity - it was a real mensch thing to do. I'm definitely going back there. read more

I highly recommend AAMCO in Middletown! I called early in the morning and spoke to Brian about the problems I was having with my car and he told me to come on down. A few minutes later I was there and they took my car right in to evaluate it. Brian explained to me what the plan was to fix it, how much it would cost, and told me if I could leave it with him today I would have it back by tomorrow. I left my car and to my surprise Brian called me only a few hours later saying my car was done and ready for pick up. The staff here are friendly, professional, and honest. I have been looking for a good, reliable mechanic/auto repair business in the Middletown area. I had a brake issue with my 2001 Toyota van. I always thought that AAMCO only did transmissions so never considered them before for car repair. However, I found out that AAMCO now does total car repair & they were recommended to me so I thought I'd give them a try. When my mechanic told me I might need a new clutch for my '02 Solara- I feared the worst. Not to worry though. He sent me up to Brian who had his master tech, Luis , take it for a ride with me. Literally within minutes- he diagnosed the problem. Back at the office, Brian gave me a a very fair price and told me he needed 2 days to complete the job. I left it overnight and in the MORNING of the 2nd day he called to tell me it was ready. The clutch felt like when the car was brand new.... I've taken both my truck and my wife's car to the Middletown Aamco on multiple occasions and have had work done that has ranged from simple oil changes all the way up to transmission replacement. Every time I've found their work to be top notch and their service fantastic. Also, they stand behind their work. The one time I did have a problem after a repair (which was caused by a bad part, not bad work) they didn't give me any hassle and made things right. Went here to Aamco on fulton street in Middletown, NY today for my mothers car. Brian explained everything in great detail. He was exceptionally honest which in today's world is unheard of. Everyone just wants to make a quick buck, but Brian was honest and didn't make any money from my mom. He could have just did what we wanted and make money off of something that could have hurt the car, but he was honest. I would certainly recommend this Aamco.
