The waiter made me feel very uncomfortable. When my food came, he told me multiple times there was a heart on my dish. He told her there was a heart drawn on the top of her food and made her acknowledge it, then backtracked and said it was a mango shape. At points during the meal, it felt like he was lingering to stare at her. When I went to pay at the register, he waited until my credit card had already been charged, then told me that he had "accidentally" applied a 20% auto-gratuity. Wonderful experience, we ordered chilli momos with spice level medium and it was out of the world. The goat thali and the aloo sabji was also very good. Shiva was our server and he explained to us briefly on the Nepali cuisines and actually Recommeded jhol which is what we would order next time. Amazing food and it was excellent. read more

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this restaurant! The momos were incredible, we tried the fried chicken and sadeko chicken, and both were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The service was outstanding. When our chowmein turned out too spicy, they immediately replaced it with a milder version without any hesitation. I enjoyed lunch here on a Monday around noon. It's fairly new just opened last month Dec' 25. Mostly empty inside just one party having a meal in the corner. I was greeted right away and was given the choice to sit wherever I wish. Got the menu, fairly large and well constructed menu and some cold water and a glass. I didn't have room for any appetizers like momos or pani puri so I just went with the goat thali with is basically a huge circular steel plate with everything except naan. The pics I post will give you an idea. It even came with a delicious gulab jaman. Server asks spice level I replied mild but it was barely any no prob Inreally don't consume that many spicy peppers anymore anyway. The rice was abundant and I finished almost everything was asked if I needed a box container for the food leftover I declined. Place has plenty of free parking inside is really clean and service is super attentive. There are several other locations across the bay. This is a sign of successful restaurants when there multiple sites. Next time will try the momos and chicken etc. This is an awesome addition to Livermore not far from downtown maybe 1-2 miles . The goat was descent had bones in it nothing to rave about but I won't judge ultimately from my first visit . read more

The vegetable thali looked like it was made for a king! Very delicious and tasty dal tadka and okra as well. The ambiance was lovely, easy to talk and connect even though I have a very quiet voice. I've been a fan of Aama's Kitchen (Hayward) and have been there multiple times. Was super excited to try out their new opening at Livermore, but the food was disappointing. Lacked flavor, salt and spice. We ordered Gobi Manchurian (felt like Gobi Pakoda, was not well done from inside) Chilli momos were below average (was too ketchup-y) and the Chowmein, which I was looking forward to the most, had no salt and very less spice, in-spite of asking for extra spicy while ordering. Upon giving the feedback about the Chowmein, the owner said they specifically put less salt in all dishes. But it felt weird because other dishes had the correct amount of salt. Service was quick, the owner was responsive, but he couldn't do anything about the lack of taste/flavor. He apologized, which was sweet, but the food really was nowhere close their Hayward standard. Ambience was better than the Hayward restaurant though, much bigger and more seating. read more

New Indian Restaurant right by Li Cha Tea! Spacious place, gave off a fancy dining kind of feel. Only ordered to go so far, not entirely sure about indoor experience, but the people in the front are nice and answered whatever questions I had. They finished my orders pretty fast and consistent. Had them 3 times and my orders always came out by 15-20minutes after ordering. I have no real complaints, that's why 5 stars! I enjoyed their butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and their shahi paneer. Smooth flavors, spiced and creamy. I will say however, they're not that spice compared to other places. I say that, because I usually struggle eating medium spicy, but I was able to eat their normally already spicy chicken tikka mandala. So if you like your food spicy, let them know and they will add more kick for ya! read more

This review is long overdue! We visited Amma's Kitchen for our anniversary in December, and absolutely loved the food. I'm a big fan of Nepalese cuisine because it brings back such nostalgic memories of home in Assam. I especially loved the Chicken Sekuwa, while my hubby thoroughly enjoyed the goat curry. We also loved the warmth and hospitality--it made the experience feel even more special. We've ordered from Amma's Kitchen whenever we get a chance since then, and it never disappoints. We have been here a few times, and nothing has failed to disappoint. I recommend coming during off-peak hours as they can get quite busy, but the food is incredible. We are so happy that they opened so close to our house. Cuisine is a combination of Nepalese & Indian. We ordered the Pani Puri, Jhol Momo, Butter Chicken (with rice), and Onion Kulcha. It was the perfect amount of food for two people. I wasn't familiar with momo, but they are essentially a steamed and fried dumpling (amazing!!). The owner is so kind and happy to explain the food and how it's made. We can't wait to go back and try a few new things (re-ordering the Jhol Momo of course). 20% off for the month of November. My boss and I came here for lunch. KC(the owner) was extremely welcoming and kind and was happy to tell us about any dish while we mulled over the menu. We ordered the Pani Puri and Mango Lassi. Both were great! My boss went with the Lamb Tikka Masala (not pictured) and I ordered the Chicken Thali. I asked about it coming with Butter chicken, KC said "no it's the chicken curry" and before I could respond he smiled and said he'd be happy to do it with Butter Chicken for me anyways! Ordered their vegetable biryani and full tandori chicken. The chicken was very wet (not like traditional tandori that is charred outside and moist inside) and seemed to be undercooked. The flavor of the tandori was also very poor and we ended up throwing the whole thing away. This was our first purchase at Aama's and we were looking forward to trying something delicious. We came here for a birthday lunch on a Friday and Shiva was wonderful as our waiter! The menu is clearly labeled and full of options for everyone, from gluten free to dairy free to vegetarian and vegan. Shiva was great at giving recommendations and noting food allergies and dietary restrictions so that we could all enjoy our experience safely. We all got the lunch special (some veg, some non-veg), and everyone enjoyed their food. Not to mention, the lunch special is a great deal! A few of us ordered additional takeout for home, and that was thoroughly enjoyed later and reheated well! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and perfect for a date night or a group meal, with a centerpiece that turns for sharing. Everything was so nice, we went back and enjoyed dinner the next night - everything was just as wonderful as the day before, and we had the chance to enjoy more dishes.
