We gave this company a try, and it was surprisingly harsh for what was expected to be a simple fix. Our car's trunk was stuck, and we called them to help pry it open. The wait time was thankfully quick, but Kyle, the person they sent over, was EXTREMELY rude. He kept getting short with us, saying how we should "be ashamed for pestering him". Sometimes he'd just give us a crowbar, make us try to pry the trunk open, and say stuff like "let's see how YOU like it". And after all that, he ended up leaving us with the job never finished. His final words to us being, "I don't like you, don't talk to me again"... Unbelievable. We're very likely never trusting this company with anything ever again. read more

I have been a customer for several years. My 2 sons and myself. Today I spoke about my bill to Tina Northfield office. She was nice, but she told me at renewal time I should call for any discount. I did call to drop one of my sons. Later I got n touch with Nate the branch office manager of northfield. She told me being on automatic renewal doesn't entitle us for discounts. No one has ever told us about discounts. And AAA never calls you to take money from your account read more

I'm not a AAA member and can't speak to those services, but I came to get my international driver's permit and the process was so quick and efficient. I expected the forms and the queueing to be more painful (I assumed something crazy like the DMV), but there was no line when I went Saturday morning and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Called aaa for a jump start this evening. Their estimate was 45 minutes fortunately I got a jump 5 minutes later. Called AAA back and canceled the service request. As I was leaving the parking lot I was followed by a vehicle with flashing lights for about a mile, dangerously close. I pulled over and it was a Defalco tow truck. I told the driver I had canceled the request and he was creating a safety hazard for following to close. He continued to follow and then cut me off on a residential street. I called aaa to inform them, the operator asked "how is that aaa's problem?" I started to explain, she did interrupted me, I tried to continue and then she hung up. Horrible service realized that my AAA had lapsed wanted to reinstate in person since I was there. There was no one in the store. At all but one overweight lady that said hi didn't ask if I needed help I expressed needing to reinstate my membership. Also asked if I could use the internet and power while there. Was told no internet and can't help cause of covid. Me and my family have been with AAA for over 50 years and spent thousands of dollars with you. What a horrible experience with a location and lady wiping down a location that had nothing to do. There's probably real work or paper work or emails to be done and sent. But I guess she was more worried about covid and not helping a customer who had a mask on and was trying to give AAA his money. Never going back to this location ever again. I hope you guys teach your employees to serve the customers with more respect. Instead of giving some excuses to why they can't help the customer. Idk maybe I grew up in a era that you helped customers instead of being lazy like you have better things to do. read more

Summary: Last Thursday, 11/15/18, our son needed AAA for the first time ever; he waited some 20 hours for a callback. He was caught in an unexpected snowfall in Union, New Jersey. After about two hours of gridlock, his battery had died in the middle of an icy road. He called AAA, waited 50 minutes for someone to answer the phone, and was told help was on the way. But after three hours no one ever arrived. The temperature was 27 degrees. I called NJ AAA and was told what he was told: it was on the way. After 90 more minutes, he called again, waited almost an hour for someone to answer, and was again told the same thing. No estimated time of arrival, no texted updates, no notice of delay were ever given him. But he waited in the cold, in the icy street, with an almost expended cell phone battery, for three more hours. After seven hours total our son called me and I again called AAA in NJ, waited 45 minutes for someone to answer, and was told the same thing - again. No phone updates, no texted messages, no advisory to seek another source to get towed out of harm's way - were ever received. Wrong! So, I got a private tow company on the line and in ten minutes our son's car was moved 7 blocks away to a wonderfully hospitable Applebee's. He later took an Uber home. The several inches of snow were totally gone by morning. It was not an even moderate snowfall by any means. Simply, it fell fast, unexpectedly, and at the worst time of the workday. AAA failed us. I can count on one hand the times I have used AAA's road help. After being a member for 56 years, the one time - one important time - AAA left our son to twist in the wind with a false belief in AAA's arrival. Why didn't AAA at least give him updates, especially one that AAA was ill-equipped to arrive at all? AAA could have, at least, given him the correct information, freeing him from faith in AAA's timely performance, so he could look elsewhere for a tow or battery charge. Finally, AAA called him the following day, 20 hours later, when all the roads were completely cleared and the snow had melted. Why even bother. So insulting. So irresponsible. Absolutely shameful. There are no words to describe the countless inadequacies AAA demonstrated. And our complaints to AAA went ignored. Go figure. read more
