    I was looking up my homeowner's policy online on May 22, 2013 and saw that my car insurance policy…read morewas terminated on May 18, 2013. I was confused, how could this be? I know I pay my bill because I have automatic deductions that come out of my banking account each and every month. I immediately checked my bank statement and saw that Allstate had not missed a beat in taking my money for their services. I called my local agent, Debbie Bates, who was not available, but was assisted by others in her office. They assured me that they would help me in getting to the bottom of this. I also called the 866 number listed to conduct my own research; I was told that my husband's license was suspended and that is why the policy had been terminated. Why was I NEVER notified before the policy was terminated? I expressed my level of frustration to the call center. I had been on the road, with my son, for days without coverage. I asked that they remove my husband from the policy, I was told that that would not be an option (per, Florida law), I was told that I would have to pay fines and penalties for this lapse in car insurance, I was told that I could not re-instate my policy until my husband took care of his suspended license (a $90 ticket from Maryland we thought we paid before moving to Florida) and most importantly, no one had answers for me as to why I had not been notified BEFORE this happened. I have had multiple phone conversations with Debbie Bates and her associates on multiple occasions, my phone number did not change nor did I receive a call from her or Allstate to assist me before my policy was terminated. I have had multiple email conversations with Debbie Bates and her associates before this happened, my email address had no changes. In fact, I received, via snail mail, a letter on March 31, 2012 from Allstate that my homeowner's policy was going to be cancelled for non-payment of premium and took care of it immediately- there was no lapse in my homeowner's policy. This, by far, is not the only issue I have had with Allstate, Debbie Bates and her associates at the Brandon, Florida location. Since we have moved to Florida, I have asked for assistance in getting my homeowners policy transferred to a landlord policy and was told that I would have to speak with someone in Maryland to get a new policy written up. When asked for any contact information for agents in Maryland, I did receive several names and numbers. No other assistance was offered to me or my family. After confirming my rental car pick-up with Enterprise and Allstate, I was beside myself when I went to the rental company in the morning and Allstate did not confirm my insurance coverage with the rental company. I sat at the rental company for over an hour, making me late for work, trying to get ahold of someone at the local office in an effort for them to assist me in getting the rental car as my vehicle went into the shop. NO ONE WAS AVAILBLE FOR OVER AN HOUR. When I finally did get someone on the phone, they had "no idea how my reservation was lost" and that, "I would have to pay out-of-pocket and that Allstate would reimburse me." At the time, I needed to leave and get to work. I had my rental car for less than a week and was charged $100 for the rental car. I called the agency and Debbie Bates to no avail. This email transaction took over 2 weeks to finalize. Guess how much Allstate reimbursed me for their mistake? $30. I am furious with how we have been treated by Debbie Bates (who NEVER even called, sent an email or sent a letter before or AFTER the fact) and Allstate for their lack of professionalism and unethical methods of handling such a taxing and dangerous situation. I was told by other agents at the Brandon, Florida office that they sent a letter. Was it certified? Nope. Did they send an email? Nope. Did they call me? Nope. This is how Allstate, Debbie Bates and the Brandon, Florida office conducts their business.
