People Beware! I went to get my registration as I moved to CA. They came up with $500 I have to pay. As I had no enough cash with me I went home to go back for more. Meantime I checked online how much is the registration as I felt the 500 way too much. So online I found out it is $275 for my car. I went back and asked them and showed the printed sheet, but they argued, wanted to give me a $50 break. And he was nasty, telling me that yes, thats the best if you go to dmv...So I got pissed and went to dmv where I payed $275. Never go back there! Ever! read more

Today I go to office in 9:30am Me got me a very nice girl who asked me the card but I did so she helped me and found me in 2 minutes I went to the counter where I paid my car tag There is also a very nice girl smiling and gave me service very good some paper work and after six minutes I left the office with a new car tag! I still can not believe how easy it was In dmv anything like this would cost me two hours of waiting I'm so happy I'm a member I will remain forever! Great service, never much of a wait. We have been AAA members for decades, sure nice to have a tow or other roadside service when you need it. Staff is always helpful and courteous, so much quicker and easier than DMV. Registration and title costs are identical to DMV in our experience so no idea why someone claimed there was a difference ??? read more

Went to AAA to get information on upcoming vacation. The man behind the information desk told me to take a seat and wait. After 10 minutes of sitting I asked how long it might be. He said " only one travel agent available you have to sit down and wait."The one travel agent he pointed to appeared to be filing papers away with no one in her office. Totaled my truck a few weeks ago in Washington and have been dealing with the nightmare that is AAA ever since. They sold me a policy they swore would cover me with beyond full coverage and now they are offering me a very small portion of the amount my vehicle is worth. They also have lagged on every communication on every level since this happened. I didn't even get a claim number until a week after the accident, any answers take days to get, and I am left feeling like I am worthless to them and a pain in their ass. Managers have refused to call me back at times as well as the people assigned to handle my claim. I feel honestly terrible with how I have been treated through this whole process as well as the ridiculous amount they are now offering to pay me. Very friendly when taking you money, and impossible when it comes to getting your money. If you want roadside assistance and to use their dmv, sign up for roadside service only, their insurance services are a horrible thing to be involved with after dealing with the horror of a crash. read more

Do not use AAA travel. I was lead to believe that there were no charges for travel services except for booking airlines. That was not the case with my recent trip to Mexico. They used their subsidiary Pleasant Mexico Holidays, to book my flight and hotel. Their services were unPleasant. That group charged me way more than if I booked myself. The hotels they chose were time shares that nickel and dime you for everything, no free internet. You can't drink the water, so they put water in your rooms but charge you for it. They charge for coffee and pool towels etc. The restaurants and bars had subpar food and drinks. You cannot get a lounge by the pool because guests put their towels on the chairs at 6am. I would not be surprised if Pleasant holidays doesn't books these time share places because they get a kick back from them. The time share people constantly pester you to buy a time share or their other services. At one of the hotels, I was supposed to have a jr. suite for 5 days. The "suite" was on a very busy street, across from a fair. The 4th floor room had no elevator. Also, they provided the wrong travel locator for the airlines reservations. The bottom line is book your own travel. You will not be pleased with AAA free services. read more

For years I remained with another insurance company without ever checking other companies. It isn't just that AAA had good rates, but the service was exceptional. David James patiently reviewed my coverages, didn't rush me for a quick decision. He told me of various discounts available, including one for being an educator. Recommended highly. Also, have briefly dealt with the front desk employees and the travel department, all with good results. There's plenty of free parking in back, overall a positive experience. It feels good to have people in town who care and are attentive. Buying insurance online or from an out of town company doesn't inspire as much confidence. Local people need jobs and when they do it as well as David James and colleagues, they deserve our business. read more

Where to begin... I'll start with the end, lawyers will be involved with this office. They failed to insure my correct vehicle for a YEAR! They have multiple notices in their computer showing I went in SEVEN times to get my car switched and it never happened. Only happened when I refused to pay them until they got it corrected. They re write my policy reinstating a previous rental policy that I did not need and charged me $45 to cancel. I buy another vehicle and they can't get my old one off so I'm being double charged. I have been into this office EIGHT TIMES to get this fixed so I don't have to pay over $400. They are threatening to take me to collections all the while they are showing pure neglect on their part to insure cars properly. I have been promised to have this fixed and nothing is happening. I have been promised to be called back. Nothing. I have been promised to be called with an update. Nothing. So now they will be dealing with my lawyer instead. read more

Very poor customer service! I went in just to pay my annual dues/membership and had to wait over 15 minutes for them to take my money! I eventually left, as there were a number of other people waiting for the very same reason. It would not have been so bad had there not been quite a few employees sitting at their desks behind the counter. In my business, the customer who is standing at the counter trying to give me money comes before my administrative busy-work. I would suggest a drop box payment system, but I am old-fashioned and I pay for things with cash. AAA - please address and correct this serious customer service problem on your part! read more

BEWARE !! BEWARE!! DO NOT USE AAA FOR ANY TRAVEL PURPOSES Richard at AAA in Thousand Oaks Ca, (he is now at Santa Barbra office). Richard booked a trip (6 months in advance) for my family and our best friends family to Hawaii back in January 2017 to travel to Hawaii in JULY 2017 Both families booked and paid for the trip at the exact time. We asked Richard for the families to have adjoining rooms at the Outrigger Beach Resort Waikiki, HI. and be seated next to each other on the airlines. He stated he couldn't promise the adjoing rooms, but would be able to have hotel rooms next door or across the hall from each other. We arrived at the Outrigger Beach Hotel to check and the hotel tells us that they only have a reservation for one family, the other is booked at the Outrigger Reef Beach Resort. We called Richard right away and Richard tells us that we know about booking at a different hotel. He would not admit that this was his mistake and tried to say we know about being in different hotels. I told him why would I book and plan a trip with our best friends family and want to be separated. He told us we are in Hawaii and to just enjoy the trip. Richard did nothing to try to make up for this error. I truly regret using AAA travel service. I find it unacceptable that Richard could make a mistake like this and not admit to it. AAA failed to provide both family's the holiday we booked. Due to this major problem we encountered and for the distress. We as a group all suffered. I can truthfully say that my family and best friends family were provided with the complete opposite and we are truly disappointed. My Geico policy went up exorbitantly so I called AAA for a quote. I had a little savings with AAA and decided to transfer carriers. The AAA agent that gave me the quote neglected to tell me about the monthly finance charge. He also quoted me the wrong amount as he had the incorrect address on my quote. My savings did not end up being significant enough to warrant a change so the next time my policy becomes due I will be looking for a new carrier. Make sure when you receive a quote from AAA that they include the high finance charges and that you do not find out when you get your bill. read more

While in Santa Barbara for business on July 22nd, my car was impounded while I was preparing for an interview with the City of Santa Barbara. In order to get my car out of impound, I needed to go to DMV, then the police station, and then the impound yard. Someone suggested I go to the AAA office on State Street in Santa Barbara to take care of the DMV issue. A gentleman (God, I wish I could remember his name) at AAA helped me get the proof I needed from DMV to get my car released from the police department. Now I had about 1 hour to get to the police station and then to the impound yard before it closed. This gentleman helped me plot my journey to get to where I needed to go, assisted me in finding a taxi, and even waited outside with me for the taxi to arrive. I made it to the impound yard about 10 minutes before it closed. Had it closed I would have had to pay extra fees. I am forever grateful for the service and care I received at the AAA office.
