I will never try and pay my car registration any other way after this visit! Nigel was so helpful and made this so easy. I walked in during the week in the afternoon and was helped within a couple of minutes since only one person was in front of me. He let me know right away that it was check or cash or a credit card so I went across the way to the gas station to grab cash which was super easy and convenient to not have to get back in the car to find an atm. I walked back in and my name was called right away and Nigel was able to process my payment and even help me update my address in just 5 minutes. I love that you get the registration sticker right away and the paper registration so you don't have to wait to get it in the mail. They only care about sales. If you are a loyal customer for decades they ignore requests, drop your phone call and are unresponsive the one time you need help. AAA on the Whole has taken the wrong direction in hiring and training their personnel. My recent Auto and Renters Policy is due in a week and leading up to this I received over a dozen calls from AAA Agents telling me my insurance is do soon, but you cannot renew since you no longer have a AAA Membership. I have had a AAA Membership for 26+ years. No one would acknowledge this and NO ONE could track or trace my member number stating we don't show a previous Membership Number to track it....then why can't you identify the Number from Previous Auto/Renters Policies. No response....These Agents who called were doing "the hustle" trying to get credit/commission on Membership sell which would lead into them getting credit and commission for a Renewed Insurance Policy. Avoid. False advertising abd false coverage. Use to love AAA. had it for years in Kentucky. Here it's a gimmick to get you in to pay without benefits. They sent me a voucher for my family to use for free. They kept it in their wallet and when they needed it they had to wait on hold for a long time then was told they gotta pay this and that to activate the "free" voucher. What a joke and waste of time. Was suppose to be good til end of this month but turns out it was never anything free as promised. Sad what they've come to, years ago they had great service and benefits. Not any more. read more

We have been Auto Club members for over 32 years. Our teenagers also had Auto Club while students and the service was excellent! We have NEVER had bad service, in person or on the telephone. I worked in bank management and also as an insurance claims adjuster (not at Auto Club) which helps me understand that everyone has bad days, but I've not encountered that with AAA. This was my first time in the AAA office -- I used to use the one on Clairemont Mesa. I was greeted warmly and felt like a valued member. There were five or six members ahead of me, but they moved fast. I completed my International Driving Permit application while I waited to be called. Once called, the IDP process with Gina took less than 15 minutes including having my picture taken. Overall, this office is bright, large, and laid out very well. First off a lot of these reviews are for the towing companies. Those Companies are just contracted with AAA. No one ever wants to have to call AAA for help! But when I ave called for help, they have always been more than helpful! My last call my battery had died and they tested it and was able to replace it for me saving me a trip to the repair shop, and saving me a trip to a parts store.. Now about actually going in to AAA They now have a Separate line for DMV. It makes licence plate renewal a breeze! The last few years I have been in and out in less than 15 minutes with my sticker in hand! They do only accept cash for DMV payments so defiantly be prepared for that. There's a few other AAA's nearby that are doing the new Real ID . Totally worth looking into and saving a trip to DMV!! Just had my car registration renewed and the AAA agent, Bryan, was extremely friendly and efficient. I paid the fees and got my new stickers in a matter of minutes! If you pay with cash, there are no fees. Credit card transactions have a 2% charge. They have new Saturday hours, 9am -1pm, so I made it just in time! read more

I have been a member for many years. For Automobile issues there ok. But for travel they are the worst. I made a reservation through them in December months ago. I go to the hotel on February and they cancelled my reservation! When I called they basically said that there is nothing they can do. Really bad experience. read more

Everything, the only thing the company really offers is free towing if you pay for it every time you try to use their service for a car accident or when your vehicle breaks down with engine problems they always come up with an excuse, not to cover the damages and then tell you one thing and then another turn tell you something completely different to make sure you're not covered and then you have to pay everything out-of-pocket AAA EAEA is a scam. Stopped by after work late this afternoon--so glad I made it in before they closed at 5pm. There was no one in the "sign in" line so I was immediately seen upon entering. I forgot my AAA card but was able to verify my membership with other info they have on file. From there I was directed to their dedicated DMV desk, which as luck would have it, also did not have anyone in line. I was able to pay for my auto registration renewal and get my new 2020 tag for the car in less than 5 minutes! I'll never mail in my vehicle registration now that I've experienced this convenience firsthand. They even had a copy of the CA Driver's License Handbook for my mom, who is renewing her license later this year. So convenient! read more

Absolutely horrible. Supposed to have been refunded $75 and instead they charged me twice and then ignored me for weeks on end. Almost a month later and still no refund. And double charged. Have spent weeks trying to get help to no avail as they sit and hold my money that is MINE. That's not cool at all it's called theft. Reported to FCC and lawyered needing to reach out. This is by no means my first time here. AAA is THE life hack for the CA DMV!! Pay the membership fee, you get lots of benefits that are great (like travel and road coverage and towing) AND you can skip the DMV Line. We popped in this local AAA for a quick DMV transaction and that's what it was quick. The staff are super nice, very personable and professional. A reminder tho, bring cash or check. Not all transactions can be paid by card. We spent about 10 minutes total in the office. While that is not a long time, it is a fair time to observe the staff. When you check in, they ask to see your card. Then they ask what services you need. The desk clerk then gets you all checked in, tells you where to expect your name to be called from. Then in about 5 minutes or less, someone calls you. You get go sit at their desk and complete your transaction. This office has amazing travel services, which I've used before. They have arranged air, hotel and land trips for me. I have never had any problems with any vendor they use. They also have a solid travel book selection. read more

I have to admit I've been a member for 3 years! And I have not used any of my AAA benefits. What was I waiting for?! I recently moved and lost my registration renewal notice but I called ahead and AAA said they could still take care of my renewal without it. They only accept cash or check for all their DMV services. I didn't need an appointment I just walked in. I was worried since it was a Saturday it would be packed. Luckily I checked in and they told me to have a seat. Before I could even sit down they called my name! I was in and out in less than 5 minutes! She printed out my registration card and I got my 2019 sticker! Just like that! Overall I was very happy with the service today. Way better than waiting for the DMV to mail my new registration and sticker. read more

Convenient for renewing my registration. See many people with complex issues and AAA tries their best to help them fix their problems. Used to go there for maps and trip tiks, but with GPS this is no longer necessary. Tour books still useful for things to do, but Yelp is better for locating restaurants and previewing lodgings. read more

Terrible company- too big to fail apparently. They have a built in process to not give the service that they commit too. Total liars at the top level - not the employees taking calls. They told my 18 year old daughter they would be there at 9:30 in the morning to meet her for the tow which they required "you to be with the vehicle" in a bad area of LA` and did not show up all day...... she called me crying because homeless people were trying to enter her car in LA 3 hours after AAA said they would be there.....Then AAA rep lied and said they showed up and she was not there... not true... then they admitted they never showed up.... Really? You are better off being scammed by the tow truck companies... its less expensive in the long run and maybe you will be safer.... We came here to do an auto title transfer as the DMV *claimed* they never received the transfer papers. Shocker right. I completely forgot that AAA can actually process certain DMV transactions.
