So I'm a renter and my landlord hired AAA to reglaze my chipping tub. I've gotten my tub reglazed before so am familiar with the process. 2 workers came and finished the job but when I came back there were glaze footprints on my bathroom floor and the workers painted over the old caulk surrounding my bathtub when I'd asked them very nicely if they could please remove it. 48 hours later I took a quick not hot shower and the paint started bubbling in a couple places. I barely rubbed the bubbling paint to see if it was just an imperfection painted over and as you can see in the pictures it was just the paint peeling right off. It didn't look like they'd prepped or cleaned the surfaces at all before glazing.
I contacted my landlord with pictures and he said he'd send somebody else but otherwise it looked fine to him. I waited for 4 days and no one came so I thought I'd reach out to AAA myself since this seemed like a clear cut very badly done job and I was hoping they'd just send someone to fix it.
This is where it all gets better! AAA responded to me within the day and scheduled someone to come fix the tub. A new worker came and after looking at the tub he said yes, the workers before hadn't prepped or cleaned the surface and the chipping would only get worse so he'd have to strip the tub and start all over again! This guy was here, no lunch break, between 8:30am-5pm (I was gardening outside in front of my place). I felt so bad he had to strip the work before and start over but when he was done the work he did was amazing (see the last 2 "after" pics). His work was honestly so much better than the work done by the same company a week ago and I'm so grateful it was so easy to correct the job done before thanks to the professionalism of AAA. Maybe the workers before were having an off day but honestly it was a night and day difference between the 2 experiences.
As a renter, you're basically at the mercy of your landlord to send someone who you hope will do a good, safe and long lasting job when it comes to fixing normal wear and tear of your apartment. So when the reglaze was badly done and I tried to go through my landlord first, then I reached out to AAA, I really appreciated AAA response and readiness to correct the problem. While it was frustrating to have that first reglaze be so bad, I appreciate so much more that AAA didn't delay in sending someone out to not only fix the job but start it all over thanks to their employees honesty about how that's what needed to be done -- he could've insisted he just paint over the chipping and I'm so thankful he didn't and did the right thing. read more
