Always looking for my go to eyebrow spot. And I think I found it!…read more Booking online was super easy and simple. I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

I enjoy my waxing services that are offered with World of Beauty & Spa. The owner, Keyshona, does…read morean amazing job with professionalism and ensuring that her clients leave the establishment happy and looking/feeling amazing. From start (booking) to end (service completed) the communication and service is seamless. Keyshona is such a genuine young lady. She fully understands how to honor her clients time by making booking a smooth, online process. I've never had to wait, as she is one of the most timely professionals I've worked with. Previously, I went to another esthetician who did not deliver nearly to the level as Keyshona. She was not only quick, but super efficient. My waxes last a long time and the pain is minimal during the service. Additionally, when services are being performed, clients can engage in comfortable conversation if they choose. I've so far recommended many of my close friends and family to her because I trust that she will perform amazing services and results. Her salon is in an area that is safe and it is beautifully decorated. It makes me feel luxurious getting my services. Overall, if you're looking for a professional esthetician in the Metro-Detroit area, I recommend looking into the services offered at World of Beauty & Spa.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I visited this place for the first time two…read moreweeks ago, and it will also be my last. The experience was disappointing from start to finish, and I regret not leaving after the consultation, which was basically just a price estimate with no clear explanation. Roda was unprofessional and unclear throughout the process. She didn't even tell me how many units of Dysport she was injecting into my forehead--just quoted me $300 and did only three pokes. I thought it was odd but went ahead with it. Today, I went back for my "two-week follow-up," hoping to address my concerns about the results. I told her I wasn't happy, but instead of offering a solution, she said, "I think it's good, you don't need any more." Her response was dismissive--especially when I explained that I wanted less movement and fewer lines. It felt like she didn't care what I wanted because, apparently, she's happy with the results, so that's all that matters, right? My face, my unhappiness, but as long as she's happy, everything's fine. Even worse, during my original appointment, Roda assured me that if I wasn't satisfied with the results after two weeks, I could come back for adjustments. Today, she completely ignored that promise. The office staff wasn't much help either. When I called to inquire about my appointment, they were clueless. Please, do your research before choosing where to go for any treatments. Trusting your face to someone who doesn't listen to your concerns is a huge risk. This place did not meet the standard of care I was expecting.
