My mom and I were seeing Kathy Griffin on Sunday night and since we're from Illinois we decided we…read moreshould stay over instead of driving back. Originally it was great. They were very accommodating when I asked for a room close to the elevator due to my mom's mobility issues. The room overall was pretty nice. There are a couple issues. Number one I feel like it's pretty standard to have a microwave in a hotel room these days. I've stayed in rooms that cost less that have them. So that was issue number one. Number two I feel like no matter if it's a handicapped room or not, which ours was not, there should be some kind of Aid or bar or something to get up off the toilet. Which there was not. There's plenty of room for it as you'll see in my pictures. I also think it's kind of cheap not to do a complimentary breakfast , when you're charging over $100 a night for a room . Also especially when you have a Starbucks in the lobby , we kind of know you can afford to offer breakfast. I'm just being honest. My main issue, involves something to do with Sanitation. Which is why they are only getting three stars. I mentioned the fact that there are not microwaves in the room. I will give them credit they do have a good amount of options in their little market downstairs. They offer several options to microwave in their communal microwave. But herein lies the problem. There is nothing to microwave those items on. There are no plates, napkins or paper towels to place your items on. So you are placing every item directly on the plate of the microwave. That's a safety issue. I was not okay with that. As far as the room itself, it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. There's a nice size closet. The TV was nice and I did like that they have the option for most streaming services. But I just cannot get past that sanitation issue. It's a great place to stay and pretty affordable, but just keep in mind what I said.

Single bay elevators in a couple locations in the hotel. While I didn't run into any congestion, I can see it happening on a busy day. The room itself was standard courtyard. In a bit of disrepair; it's been used, and clearly time for a refresh. Great staff, always nice.

I recently stayed overnight and it was ok. There was nothing particularly wrong with my stay but…read morethe property is kinda rundown. I checked in around 10-10:30 pm and it went pretty smoothly. The clerk wasn't very friendly but also wasn't rude. Just the weird neutral gen whatever attitude. I'm sure he didn't want to be there. The room was on the top floor but throughout the hotel, you could tell there was an obvious problem with water damage. Our floors hallway as well as several other floors hallways had fans set up directed at the carpet. The carpet itself was bunched up in the middle. So it wasn't a good impression. The room itself was decent. The bathroom was good sized and had everything I needed. The room itself was good sized and the bed was relatively comfortable. Everything seemed clean but there was still some dust. You could also see obvious signs of water damage on the ceiling near the windows. My only other concern is that it appeared that someone was using our room to camp out in. When we arrived the lights were on in the room and the tv was on and playing Jaws. I thought it was pretty odd because usually everything is turned off. Check out was smooth and met with the same unenthusiastic attitude by another clerk. For one night in a king room I paid a total of $114.11. Price was decent for the room. They do allow pets so I'm sure that's part of the reason why it's a bit run down. I would maybe stay here in the future. I'd probably see if there was a different holiday inn nearby before I'd stay here. And if it was for more than a night, probably not. For a night stay, it's fine. They definitely need to fix the water issue though.

New manager this year and it's not good. I stayed here for almost a month in 2022. From 2024 until…read moretoday, I had stayed here another few dozen nights. In Feb of this year, it was ok. Not great, not bad. It was a reasonable value. In May, a completely new staff. New guy who calls himself the general manager. He's not a good manager. I had a reservation to stay here tonight. When I checked in, the GM was at the front desk. He confirmed my name. I handed him my credit card. Next think, he charged me $415, and I was expecting $280. He billed me for the wrong rate. He said he would refund me when I checked out on Friday. I told him that was not acceptable. He said he could start over, by giving me a refund, and re-billing me. Then he added that the $415 charge would stay on my card for a while. I told him that wasn't acceptable. We went back and forth. I told him that I just wanted to cancel everything and leave. He said fine, but the $415 would stay on my card for a while. I told him that wasn't right, so I would call the bank and tell them it was a fraud charge. The manager asked me not to dispute the charge. I asked him to explain why I should pay $415 for something that was supposed to be $280, and why I should lend the hotel $415 for a week. The manager agreed to cancel the reservation. But, he said, "The $415 will stay on your balance for a week." I left to call my credit card. It took a few minutes, and then when I looked at my bank statement, the $415 was already credited back. On my way out I was going to use the men's room but it reeked of urine. Ten minutes later, I was at the hotel next door. Better rate, and much better room.

This is the hotel from hell. I spent over $4,000 staying here because I'm working in Madison for 4…read moreweeks and needed accommodations. The hotel says it's nonsmoking, but the place reeks of marijuana 24/7. The marijuana and cigarette smoke flood in through my bathroom vent, triggering asthma attacks every day and every night. I have throbbing headaches from it, my eyes are constantly watering, and I cannot breathe. I have had to go to the hospital and have maxed-out on medications due to the amount of smoke in my room. I have contacted the front desk a dozen times. Emailed the help relations line every day. I have text-messaged the help line. And although they all know exactly which guest is smoking marijuana- they refuse to do anything about it. They have not offered to move my room or to move his room so I could live somewhere without smoke pouring into the vent. They have refused to offer any compensation or discount or reward for the health problems it's caused me. The help line was very rude when I said I was having asthma attacks and told me they would refund my hospital visit. However after talking to the manager they refuse to pay for any hospital visit caused by their smoke. They refuse to let me terminate my stay early with full refund. I simply do not want to be next to his room so I can breathe at night, but they wont move his room or even upgrade mine to a different one. In addition - my room is filled with stains, mold, and water damage. I am on the third floor and the elevator has been broken the entire duration of my stay - with absolutely no effort to call someone to fix it. The hot tub has been broken the entire duration of my stay - with no effort to fix it. The breakfast says it closes at 9:30am but when i went downstairs at 8:59am they were already closing. The dinner snacks also close a half hour to 45 min early. I would think that after paying $4,000 I would at least be allowed to stay in a room where I'm not having asthma attacks every other night and need to go to the hospital. I cannot believe they won't do a single thing or offer any sort of help or compensation for this situation. At this point i'm going to see if the other guests complaining would like to file a lawsuit, this has been an absolute nightmare. Worst stay of my life - do not come here!!! I honestly feel like this place is hell on earth. Absolutely disgusting.
