Brought in my pink slip to one of my cars I sold and needed to pay for my dad's membership. Quick and easy with the DMV paperwork. I was given a copy and the rep time stamped it. She explained they do not "process" the paperwork, but send it out to the DMV for processing. Later directed to stand in another line for the membership services. I was the only person in line, but was not acknowledged by the women behind the plexiglass. A separate lady walked up to me from behind that same counter and asked what I needed. I told her that I needed to make a payment. She told me that one of the ladies behind the window will assist. I'm thinking--they have yet to acknowledge my existence. I get flagged to approach the counter... the lady then proceeds to hold a convo with the rep who is supposed to be helping me. Well, dang.... what am I? Just office scenery? No wonder I had to repeat myself three times to the person who was supposed to be helping me. Clearly customers are not a priority. Solid two stars. One for quick DMV assistance, and the other for ample parking. read more

Aaa roadside left me stuck on the side of the road in pouring rain refused to tow my pickup truck because they said it was a "commercial" vehicle after I had waited an hour. So I had to call another company and wait again. I offered to pay for the tow myself still they declined. read more

I really like AAA. My family has been members my whole life. I went to get my registration and pay my insurance. It was easy breezy. There was about a 5 min wait at the DMV side. One negative, at my payment stop and registration I got the life insurance hard sell pitch. It was annoying. How many times do you have to say you are not interested in one visit? Really love this office. It's local to home and so convenient. On two separate occasions, we have booked travel through the agents there. The first time was with Pam. She was great. However, covid hit, and we never took the trip. Initially, the insurance company did not want to refund our money since "pandemics" weren't covered. Pam informed us that we would just rebook at another time instead. But one morning, I awoke, and all of the money for our trip had been refunded to my bank account. The second time, we booked a cruise with Sara G. This woman is EXTREMELY patient, personable, and professional. We called for reassurances on a few things, and she handled them with no problem. 5 star service from both women!! read more

Empathy for their customers would be helpful. One of the reasons i belong to AAA is to avoid the DMV. On my visit, after waiting 20 minutes for my turn, they just casually tell me that AAAs connection with the DMV has been down. read more

Been to a number of AAA branches. This is the slowest. The ones in Manhattan beach and San Diego are quicker with better customer service. Staff in LB seems to just have chats among themselves while people wait. read more

AAA Membership is still worth it for the dmv services and this branch is just as nice as any. Though during Covid it was insane to get help there in person. However their insurance claims staff is the wooooorse experience I've ever had. I've been here several times over the years and they do everything right. They are really efficient and the people here seem to all be nice. I've come here mainly to pick up new plates and handle registration issues. Before running out to the DMV to take care of something, I recommend asking AAA if they can do it for you instead. I needed to get my registration tags for my car since I was about 1 month late ( DMW said they had my old address on file, which is BS because I've lived at my current address for 5 yrs now and they've sent me renewal forms in the mail previously ). Watching a supervisor help an elderly gentleman get directions from Long Beach to the Ontario airport. This guy gets 5 stars for patience/ helpfulness. The man complained he couldn't see the map printed from Mapquest. So the super printed a bigger map. He explained the freeways he needed to take. The man said he needed a trip print. I am here today to get my car registration completed. They seem to have forgotten that member expect to get help in a timely manner. They only have 1 person working and they keep leaving to help other members. It seems to me all the workers are walking around looking busy bit are not actually doing much. They seem to walk alot but get nothing done and they do not the member. I will rethink if I will renew this year asked on the service or lack of. read more

When I asked for a manager he said that there was no manager on site and started arguing with me at this point he also threatened me. This was an-unpleasant experience and horrible customer service. On May 23, 2018, I drove to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and drove to a state designated state parking lot that I accessed from a state maintained (dirt and gravel) road. My wheel got stuck there in soft ground and AAA Roadside Assistance initially took my call but diverted me (without notice) to a tow provider (S&R Towing - Julian) who demanded $360 cash - in advance - to winch my car from the soft spot. The tow provider would not accept my AAA roadside assistance request. I paid the fee (actually, my daughter paid for me because I was stranded out in the Anza-Borrego desert) and I appealed to AAA for reimbursement. On 6-27-2018, "Ashley", from AAA Long Beach called me and said the location is not covered under AAA's description of "regularly traveled" because that portion of state park road is unpaved. She offered to reimburse based on "32 years of membership," but not the roadside assistance. Even then, she would not reimburse because I had not included a receipt from the tow provider AAA had shunted me off to. [S&R provided me no receipt because the fee was paid in advance - over the phone - by my daughter, although I suppose S&R Towing might provide one to my daughter if she asked]. Unpaved roads not covered? According to CalTrans, up to 43% of state roads are "distressed." Nearly 5% of their network consists of unpaved roads. I like this office in Long Beach near the airport, there's parking and the wait is not very long for whatever service you need. The employees and agents are helpful and professional too. However, I'm giving AAA in general three stars because of the high prices for auto insurance, which are ridiculous! If you are a law-abiding, rule-following, good, taxpaying citizen, you will get punished with higher insurance premiums for your auto, regardless of your age, your loyalty, your multi-policy (home and auto), your good driving record, the age of your car, and even with all of the discounts that you qualify for! Which really sucks! So please be sure to shop around and take other auto insurance companies into consideration before committing to this AAA Auto Club of Southern California. read more

I was also impressed by how well AAA has implemented safety measures and precautions in response to COVID-19. AAA REMOVE BOBS TOWING IN LONG BEACH CA. FROM SERVICE! This place is a bunch of crooks. I have AAA and the tow company they recommended took me for a ride. Don't leave your car there. Take it anywhere but there. I have an accident and they convinced me to take it to their facility and after 8 days. It was almost $900. (55 a day plus 195. Tow charge plus ????) And to top it off my car got broken in too. My car was locked when I left and when I came to check on my car it was still locked and all my stuff on the floor. Lots of personal stuff missing. We have been members for over 18 years and mainly we rely on the roadside assistance to get us rescued when the vehicle breaks down. This morning at 11AM, my wife called me telling me that she had broken down on the freeway and couldn't navigate the call screening to get assistance. I called the roadside assistance number and after several attempts, I was able to get through to an operator, it was now 11:10AM and was told that a tow would arrive within an hour. At 12:30 PM, I received another call from my wife informing me that the freeway service patrol told her that it was not safe to wait on the freeway and she was towed to a safe area off the freeway. I called the number for roadside assistance and was told that it would be another hour before they could get to her. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement; however, I am investigating other roadside assistance providers. Also, I agree that their insurance is overpriced. read more
