Your dispatch employee sent out a driver to tow my truck. She called 2 hours in advance to confirm my appointment but didn't mention that it was $x amount per mile unless I waited 12 hours for my "membership upgrade to kick in". I have a screen shot on my phone from when I booked the service on the app that my plus membership would tow me up to 100 miles for this appointment. Dispatch told me "I don't know why they would send that" well "they" is the company so I'm unsure why you can't honor what they state. I was trying to be towed 10 miles, nothing crazy. What a joke most employees are these days. She had the nerve to say "well that's my bad for not communicating the price but usually people know what their membership covers". Well what do ya know, when I made an appointment last week and even tonight at midnight when my upgrade kicks in, BOTH of those dispatch employees were knowledgeable and communicative when telling me it would cost money and how much. This time at midnight when dispatched called, they also thought I had a classic membership but after actually looking into it, I was able to get a "free tow" from PAYING for my plus membership. He had no problem going to look into it and correcting trying to charge me. When my company offers something and a customer of years can prove to me what they're saying is true, I honor what they were led to believe. My first time at AAA actual location. Located in Southside with plenty of parking spot. My husband told me to go here to get my Passport picture. since we are a member we get free passport picture here. Went here on my lunch break and it was a quick and smooth process. The front desk greeted me right away and after telling her I need to get my photos taken for my passport we went to the side of the office and she took my picture. After that she told me to hang out at the waiting area while we wait for the picture to print. While waiting there I was looking at the magazines they have and found out that they offer so much more! from travel to a savings or CD account they have it with great rate too! maybe I waited less than 10 minutes for my pictures to print and after that they put it in a nice container to ensure it will not get damaged. read more

Got a flat tire, AAA shows up 1.5 hours late, doesn't have the right tool to take the lug nuts and their only solution is to tow the car at my expense - full price but then tells me he has to make a stop on the way to help another customer with a lockout so I'd have to wait while he did that. I asked to speak with a supervisor to ask if the tow could be compensated given they didn't have the correct tool but was told she could not as that's against their customer policy. Hàd to use my AAA today as my battery died. Never knew until today that tips were required for the service. My guy told me multiple times that he was paid $12 hour and relies on tops to get by. Even gave me his Zelle so I could send a tip as I had no cash on me. Can't catch a break for anything these days. Almost $250 for the battery replacement then a tip on top. Only had one short term experience with them but it was positive. I signed up as I needed to have a vehicle towed from my parents house to a nearby mechanic. Ryan , the technician who towed my BMW that sat in my driveway for a year. My favorite thing about him is as that he made a joke that he had just cut my grass. Haha. He was super personable and I think that is the most impressive with customer service: emotional intelligence. He was so quick to arrive, and handled everything with care, professionalism but also a personality. He saw everything to end including when I insisted to follow just to meet the folks caring for my car. I never thought I would see the day that I would give AAA a substandard rating; maybe it's because it's AAA in florida and the standards for almost everything here is bottom of the barrel but I called for a tow service today, was quoted a time of around 1p, the tow driver came around 340p; i know things get busy so that wasn't my main concern; the problems started with their tow truck driver who appeared to have problems speaking clearly and also with mathematical skills; he got here and demanded cash or credit card payment for the tow services; indicated to me that my plan says I get 5 free miles and everything after that would be 7.00 per mile; my destination was 8 miles which meant I would owe him 45.00; the last time I checked my math if you subtract the 5 free miles from 8 miles that total is 3; and if you charge 7.00 per mile multiplied by 3 that total is 21.00; i don't owe you 45, I only owe you 21.00; so I caught your driver trying to scam me; in order to make the payment, he had to call someone and I had to tell them my credit card information over the phone; who does this in this day and age!!!!!! I'm supposed to trust that I'm speaking with someone from AAA!!!?? I have previously received an international driving permit from here with no issue. This time applying for one with my spouse, our costumer service representative got distracted half way through with a new set of costumers and had us waiting for over 30 minutes whilst she chatted about personal life stories and unrelated work conversations which other costumers. I would say their roadside assistance sometimes is a hit or miss sometimes they could be there within 15 minutes other times it can take two or three hours to get somewhere. __ so what happened October 5th my car got hit at work so someone backed in to my bumped so we made a claim to get it repaired. They said it be $800 in damage and we said we needed to get a rental car they said cool but because the bumper was the only thing damaged.. I was able to drive the car still to work and then on the 17th October my car was hit by a big rig and of course now I needed a rental car to get back and forth to work they said. $ 30.A day _ okay that's cool and apparently I exceeded their limit and I assumed they were going to allow me the rental car until my car was fixed so they've had it since Maybe about the 28th of last month. So today we get told you got to return the rental car because they no longer are paying for it okay they said you can go to Hertz and get a rental car so I drive over to Hertz to get a rental car and they tell me. You don't have any claims for a car and I said that's weird. Can't get claims adjuster.in the phone or email or text.. __ the guy won't respond.. Go to find out Hertz rental car says the same thing they can't get a hold of the guy either. So they eventually get a hold of somebody and tell me oh when they said you exceeded your limit at Enterprise that means you no longer have eligibility for a rental ca __ they never told us talk to us or even explain that you'd only have maybe two weeks or 3 weeks with a rental car. _ I assumed I would have a rental car the whole time my car is in the shop and currently they say my car will be in the shop probably till Thanksgiving of 2022 so that is still about 2 weeks away. I still got to get back and forth to work so now they're saying. _ You can pay out of pocket $200 down. $20 a day every day until the car is fixed so imagine $20 a day times 14 that's $280 on top of the $200 down. I'm assuming I will get the $200 back. __ but again it makes no sense you would assume while your car is being fixed they would help you out but again they're like sorry. No communication no emails no phone calls no nothing but again it is saving us money technically on the monthly bill. but is that really worth it when you have to go through all these headaches I don't think so. I have been a AAA Plus member for 13 years and I can't believe the unexpected number of times that I "counted my lucky stars" to have AAA in my hip pocket. AAA provides a great portfolio of services of which we have been so pleased to have used their towing, battery replacements/ checks, trip planning (old fashioned paper maps), international drivers licenses, and emergency services. AAA Plus membership has been worth its weight in gold - for the 8 annual emergency service calls alone (unlimited mileage tows and battery-related) that we receive for our couple membership. Of course there's the piece of mind that you receive knowing that AAA can help whenever your travels/ emergencies arise. I readily admit that there have been a few instances these past 13 years that AAA fell short of its gold standard for towing responsiveness as well as congenial customer service from their phone reps -- but all in all in the grand scheme of things I've been pretty satisfied with AAA and appreciate being a AAA Plus card carrying member. Called for tow service at 3pm, by 7:30pm was told by a robotic voice that it would be another 77 minutes. There were many calls in between, was constantly told tow driver would call me back, never received a call. The business I was parked in front of was nice enough to let me leave the car overnight. This is totally unacceptable service. They also automatically debited my account in September when it was not due until October, and I never authorized them to take funds out of my checking account. Every time I would call they would say do you want to cancel? It's almost like they want you to cancel the tow call. read more

They are absolutely terrible. One wheel of my car ended up getting stuck in a ditch. I called them and received a message at 618pm saying that someone was going to be out to help me at 732pm. It hits 732 pm i get a message saying someone will be there at 857pm. 857pm hits the eta changes to 910pm. 910pm rolls around and nothing. I call them at 925 cause the eta hasnt changed and no one has called me. They say wait 30 minutes and call back. I call at 955 still no eta and i get told to call in another 30 minutes and ask to speak to the resolution team so they can get someone else out there because the person who's supposed to be helping me isnt even picking up or his dispatch. To make a long story short i was out there for close to 7 hrs and my car ended up getting towed because of JSO. Everyone i spoke with were no help and didnt give me any information I asked for. AAA came to my rescue a few weeks ago when made a stop at the gas station to fill up my tank and accidentally locked my keys in the ignition of my jeep! My jeep is not an older vehicle so I'm not exactly sure how in this day in age I even managed to lock myself out but I did, and that is the only key I currently have for my jeep bc the dealership that I bought it at wanted an extra $275.00 for a second key because it's a "high tech" key(yeah right...I wasn't going to pay them an extra $275.00 for a spare key). My first thought was to go into the gas station and see if they had an attendant working there who knew how to pop a lock open on a car, they said that they did but he had left for the day...uugh! I've used pop-a-lock before when I got locked out of one of my previous cars and not only do they take forever to get to you/cost a lot but they also don't know what they're doing as they left my window broken on my last car costing me even more money! This left me with my AAA membership. At first I was not very convinced that they would even get to me at the time quoted(45 minutes or less)much less be able to open my car door without damaging it. About five minutes went by and I got a call on my cell phone, it was from the AAA person who said he would be at the gas station to unlock my car in ten minutes! He showed up right when he said he would, was very nice and professional, and even offered me a cold bottle of water. Then he unlocked my car like it wasn't even an issue, and didn't even leave a scratch=). On top of that he also informed me that with my AAA membership I could get a duplicate key made through them for only $25.00 instead of the $275.00 that the dealership wanted! What a complete joke. I wish I could leave no stars. I had coverage with AAA and they did not add my payment details correctly which not only caused a lapse in my coverage in which they dropped me for, but they sent it to collections without notifying me. They suckered me in to a new policy saying they could retry in 6 months to get my old policy back just for an agent today to tell me that I wouldn't be eligible for 3 YEARS from THEIR MISTAKE. To add irony to the matter, the customer service is worse than Comcast. I spent a whole month requesting they fix the credit issue which they refused to do that or call me back. Your time is worth more than you money, spend a little more with someone who will pride your time and business!!! read more

Steer completely clear of AAA Insurance of any type. They've been undercutting their competition to get into the business and now they are hurting because of it. I was amazed how cheap the quote I got for home and auto back in 2017 was, and jumped on it. No claims whatsoever until wife with a spotless driving record had a fender bender with my garage door frame (no traffic violation, $4,500 in repairs) 4 years later (our only auto insurance claim in 45 years). AAA paid for the repair of front quarter panel, but boy it was it a pain getting them to pay even the lower of what two body shops quoted. In fact, they argued with the lower quote body shop well throughout the repair, causing the shop to refuse to release my repaired car while I was in the process of moving out of state. I finally had to make a special trip back to Georgia to get it. A month ago, I was told by AAA that despite never having a claim on my Homeowners I was not going to be renewed on it. Entire reason cited on the form letter was "Risk Mitigation". I called to find out what that meant, and the lady mumbled some vague answer, saying I wasn't the only one. Then I learned from a Wall Street Journal article that I was one of thousands dropped because I live in Florida and AAA is losing its butt here. This required unbundling of home and auto, but AAA still said they'd quote me auto. After receiving such a quote and contacting the agent to bind me with three weeks until my current coverage elapsed, a bunch of internal back and forth ensued until the agent reported that AAA was denying me auto coverage. The agent admitted she'd never heard of coverage being denied because of a one-vehicle fender bender on private property. I'm done forever with AAA. My membership since 1976? Not going to be renewed. AAA insurance is surely hurting financially (who needs a Triptik?). AAA has lost its relevancy. Forget their lowball quotes and run. read more

I've had several poor experiences with this company, but after 23 minutes on hold, because the app is outdated and does not have modern features, I spent less than 60 seconds on the phone with a customer service representative, that was as ignorant as she was rude. Without provocation or warning, this poor representation for any professional business, hung up on me without any attempt to try and resolve my service request, or even hear what it was. They need competition, because their service is so bad, that I would rather pay $300 or more so that I don't have to deal with them, than pay the $70/yr. read more

AAA completely dropped the ball on my 88 year old mother yesterday. Her car died in the parking lot at Mayo and she called AAA, where she's been a member for 43 years. They said they'd be there in 15 minutes. When she called back, they said it would be an hour. This nonsense continued from 2pm until 7pm, when the building closed. She made an alternative towing arrangement and ended up having to spend the night in a hotel. While the contracted towing company is to blame for the rotten responsiveness, AAA didn't follow up and didn't take care of their member. This was not a 25 year old knucklehead who ran out of gas. This was an 88 year old lady who was alone, tired and afraid --- precisely the person who needs AAA. This wasn't a snowstorm or a hurricane. It was a nice sunny day. There's no excuse for this kind of service and AAA should be ashamed. As a follow-up I upgraded the rating from 0 to 2 stars. The next day, when I called local AAA to complain on behalf of my mother, they were very responsive. They agreed to reimburse her towing expense, her hotel, and her next year's AAA membership. This was nice, but the truth is that the member needs peace of mind, not after-the-fact fence-mending. AAA does the contracts with these two-bit towing outfits, not the member. AAA needs to handle the member issues in real-time, not after-the-fact. read more

We had the pleasure of using our AAA roadside assistance membership this past Thursday. We accidentally Locked my daughters keys in the car when we were gassing up her car. Not only was the customer service on the phone helpful and reassuring, but they beat the their time service time estimate of 45 minutes by a good 15 minutes. Jimmy the technician. and a proud Marine, was absolutely a doll and was fast as lightning in getting the door opened. This experience made my membership worth every penny! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to pop in here and pick up Universal Studio tickets. Their hours are pretty reasonable, although it is cutting it close for me to make it here after work before they close at 6pm. Of course, had I planned better I could have made it in on a weekend but I naturally waited until the last minute. Really need to get better at that... I have been a AAA member for 46 years. Very seldom do I call AAA, but when I do, they have always been helpful, except this last call on May 20th in downtown Jacksonville, FL. My car had a problem, I called AAA and the gal on the phone informed me that a tow truck would come for my car, but it would not take me. I had to find my own way home. I am a 75 year old woman who has no family in the area. When I protested, she gave me "suggestions" on how I could find transportation. I do not pay for suggestions. I pay for service. And the annual rate has not decreased, but the service has. Always before, I rode with the driver to whatever garage he took my car. That way I keep an eye on my car and I am safe. I understand that because of the virus, AAA is trying to protect its drivers. However, it threw out "the baby with the bathwater" with this policy. Leaving me by the side of the road is very dangerous for me. AAA could require that members riding with the tow truck driver wear a mask. I can go along with that, but not with abandoning the vehicle occupants. Fortunately for me, my car problem was easily corrected on site and I drove my car home. I will not be a AAA member if this policy continues. I no longer feel safe knowing that I have AAA. AAA is assuming that all of us have other transportation options and have cell phones. Not so. On May 20th when I called AAA, my cell phone was almost out of battery power. I expected it to quit at any minute. I also was fortunate that I was in the city, What if it had been midnight in the country between Green Cove Springs and Starke? I am asking AAA to revise their current policy of leaving the vehicle occupants behind. Also, I will not allow my vehicle to be taken from me to a garage without my being able to keep an eye on it. I want to know where it is going and who is going to work on it and what they are going to do. AAA, you are a disappointment. If all you can offer are suggestions on how I can find a ride home, I do not need you. I have a Premier membership and I deserve much better than that, especially after 46 years. As a single mother for several years I could not have survived without AAA. I love knowing that if I get a flat tire or a dead battery I would not be stranded without anyone to call. Years ago trip maps were handy but with GPS and internet this service has become somewhat obsolete. The roadside service is definitely the best thing that AAA has to offer. When I found the AAA store close to home I thought I would explore the other services they had to offer. I checked into the auto insurance but found the rates much higher than any other company, so that was not too helpful. The best service this store has to offer is the ability to buy gift cards and by doing so, earn points that apply towards your membership fee. However be prepared for a long wait. While the employees in this area are friendly and helpful, the process takes an exceptionally long time to activate these cards. You can go next door to Publix and get your groceries and cards there before the first card will get activated at the AAA store. The most disappointing service I found here was the travel service. When my family decided to start planning a ski vacation for the first time ever I decided to check into AAA for assistance with planning the vacation. If I was going to the northeast, the nice gentleman who started to assist may have been more helpful, but since we decided to go to Colorado I was referred to another agent, Donna last August. It took several days for Donna to try to call me and after days of phone tag I finally had the chance to explain what we were looking for, flights, a shared rental for 8 adults, transportation to and from the airport, ski lessons, and lift tickets. Several days later I received a brief email with a couple of different options. I tried to call several times and after many unreturned messages gave up and proceeded to research to make our own arrangements. By October we had done some research and were prepared to book but being overwhelmed with the details I again when into the store for some assistance and met with Donna. I knew exactly what we wanted this time and had a budget in mind so shared those details. A couple of days later I got a brief email that I could settle for less than I asked for and the total would be a little over budget. I called and left messages to discuss details but after a couple of days and no return call I emailed a request for a revised plan. I did receive a second email but with simply a new total price and no details. I called again to get the details but after leaving two messages and no return call, returned to planning our own trip. Fortunately we did put together our own vacation, staying longer than I originally planned and the overall price was less than we were quoted from AAA. I would not recommend using the travel services if you are expecting to get a good deal. It may be more work, but in my opinion you will get more for your money on your own. read more

AAA in Jacksonville is shamefully bad. 3-4.5 hours to wait for a tow, and not just once. I'm a fool for staying with them for 17 years. They seem to have a challenge with having enough trucks available. Their service has degraded to a ridiculous point in Jacksonville yet they take our membership fees unapologetically.
