Came to AAA in San Clemente to buy a knots berry farm ticket, as they offer at a discount. 8 associates working on Saturday 3 customer inside in total and only 1 customer being helped. When I inquired at checking after a 15 min wait she said only one person can log in. What does that mean? Finally a gentleman behind the counter who helped the first customer called me. So I am presuming only 2 of the 8 associates can help customers. Impressive system. At one point there were 5 associates behind the check in having a great conversation. Enjoy the wait here. By the way the savings was $ 4 !!! So now you all know - don't bother waiting at AAA. 20 mins time=$4. Pass next time! read more

I have been with AAA for over 20yrs. Anytime I go to this office I'm greeted by Pam, she is always professional and always greets me with a smile which is nice because I usually have a bunch of stuff to deal with. Then I head off to insurance and I believe Miriam helps me most always. Again she always greets me with smile and efficiently handles my stack of papers. Lastly yesterday my daughters new/used car battery died. I used my AAA-roadside assistance @ 6:30 am he arrived @ 6:40 am and my daughter drove off in her car@ 6:45. AAA San Clemente has the best customer service hands down. Don't go during rush hours and you won't have to deal with everyone else who is in a rush. read more

My family has been coming to this spot for years. When Geico tripled my insurance rates, I got on the phone with Janet, an extremely nice rep (I think at this location). Either way, AAA roadside is the biggest no-brainer purchase I've ever made, and the Auto Insurance seems to be going great as well. Couldn't be happier with the service. read more

I am very upset due to the fact that my car insurance was cancelled without notice after I had made a downpayment. The only reason I knew that I didn't have insurance was because I called to ask a question about my policy. Once the agent told me it was cancelled he opened a new policy for me without a problem, I paid the downpayment again. After a month once again it was cancelled without notice and this time they said that it was because i was unelgible which made no sense because they accepted my downpayment and covered me for a month. It's really upsetting because ive had AAA for years before. read more

Do not purchase the homeowners insurance! It is useless. I had some damage totally over $5,000 and all AAA gave me was 2,700. They are cheap , they do not care about the client only the almighty dollar. Going to cancel auto insurance also. Sad since I have been a member for 28 years. read more

Unbelievable ! At 7 pm in Dana Point, they told me that a towing truck will be with me in 30-45 min. I waited for 3 hours and asked to talk to a supervisor. They said someone will call me and update me on the Status of the driver. No one called! I got home at 11 pm. Still waiting for someone to return my call !!!!! Unacceptable. read more

Who needs the lame DMV when you have auto club?! Seriously. This location is super convenient since I work in the same plaza. It's hidden in the corner of Oceanview plaza near the gym and Rubios.I come here for all of my car registration issues. They're able to do pretty much everything that a DMV office does excepts drivers license renewal stuff. I've renewed my registration here several times and it has been a great experience. One employee in particular has been extremely helpful, her name is Debbie. I had trouble once registering a used car that i had just bought and she walked me through all the steps and provided me with the correct paperwork so I was able to get my tags in time. She helped me again recently since my insurance was not reported to the DMV and was cheerful and super nice. She even remembered me! They usually have a few people waiting for service after you check in but I have never had to wait very long. I am able to get things done during a quick break or my lunch instead of wasting a few hours at the DMV dealing with rude employees. I highly recommend visiting auto club for your vehicle registration needs if you are able to..you will be glad you did! read more

I went in here about a week ago and literally waited for 45 minutes, meanwhile the lady at the front desk who recognized anyone let them go through the "express lane". I watched five people come in and all of them leave while i was still waiting in the lobby. Not to mention, all the mistakes they made on the paperwork. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever had. If you want things done right, just make an appointment at the DMV instead, you'll be out quicker and it'll get done right the first time. read more

Wow- lots of negative reviews... I have been here several times over the past few years to take care of DMV registration issues and I have NEVER had a bad experience. I've never had to WAIT forever like you do at the DMV either. The membership fee for AAA is WORTH it just to not have to deal with the DMV LINES! I have been a member of AAA for 7 years or so, and have never used any of the services until this morning. I work the midnight shift for a company out in the country on the Ortega Highway... basically in the middle of nowhere. Not the best place to have car trouble to be sure! When I tried to start my car to come to work, it took several tries before it finally turned over. I also noticed that the clock was not showing the correct time... a pretty good indication that the battery was just about dead. Once I arrived at work, I called roadside assistance and was told the truck would be arriving in about 30 minutes. As I said, I am in the middle of nowhere, and figured if they made it in an hour I would be happy. Twenty minutes after I called, I received an automated message saying the truck was on the way, and about 10 minutes after that, Carlos called to let me know he would be arriving in 7 to 10 minutes. Great communication! He checked the battery which was extremely low, and then checked the alternator which thankfully was charging just fine. So in the middle of the night, this very pleasant man replaced the battery in under 15 minutes and saved me the hassle of having to deal with it after a long day at work. I can not say enough positive about Carlos and AAA Roadside Assistance. The price of the battery was very reasonable and installation was included. I rarely use my AAA membership but when I have used it in Philadelphia and now, in Orange County, I have been impressed. Last week I went to the DMV in Laguna Hills. It was a nightmare. It was close to 100 degrees and there was a line just to register out the door and around the building. I was told there was an hour and a half wait once I reached the desk which was taking an hour. So, today I went to AAA in San Clemente. All I needed to do was to transfer a vanity plate to a new car and get new plates for the old car. There was a 10 minute wait. The young man who took care of me was fast, efficient, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant and courteous as was the receptionist. The entire process, including the wait was less than 20 minutes. Why would any sane person go to DMV for anything other than a drivers license and test? Kudos to AAA. read more

Met with agent Noal Powell and got the run around instead of a straight answer. My spouse and I live in separate physical locations but are not divorced. Noal is telling me that my premium will go up from about $37.00 to $130.00 per month due to him "moving" $586.00. When I asked what the 586 was I kept getting the run around and no straight answer. At the end of my meeting with him I still had no idea what I was being billed for, did not have a copy of my coverage. I went to the Lake Forest office the following week to have someone explain my coverage and how much I owe. Turns out Noal Powell moved money from coverage on one vehicle that I don't drive and does not even belong to me to coverage on my vehicle, all the while telling me what a great deal I will get when I renew next year. SHADY!! not to mention unethical. I emailed his manager, Ian Lewis, a week ago today for an explanation of my policy. I have since emailed Ian Lewis two more times and left one voice mail. I also emailed Ian's manager, Marco Peregretti. NOT ONE RESPONSE FROM ANYONE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Went to San Clemente AAA to transfer a car from my name to my son's. While there we signed him up for an AAA membership and Auto insurance. Big mistake. Called my State Farm agent on Monday to remove the vehicle from my insurance and was advised although my son is over eighteen ( he being a live at home full time student claimed as a dependent) I can still be held liable in a law suit. Also found while balancing my checking account on line that I was billed twice for the intiation fees. Tried to reach the AAA agent several times with the number on his card, no answer. Called the main number, was told since they were in Irving Texas they couldn"t help me , call San Clemente office. Finally reached the original AAA agent and was told my agent was wrong and I couldn't be held liable for my son in California. As for the double billing he'd check with the cashier and probably AAA would review it, send him a check and he would relay it to me. It was removed automatically, why couldn't it be refunded the same way? Questioning San Clemente AAA's ability to resolve the matter I called the main office, again. Was told since the insurance policy was in my son's name they couldn't help me. I asked if she wanted to hear the problem first before she declined to assist me. Sure why not. Gave her the long story and was told the agent was mistaken and I could be held liable, sorry about the overcharge we,ll send you a check. Completely lost faith in AAA, so went to State Farm and got my son proper coverage, had him call AAA to cancel his policy, no problem, but there would be a $130 service charge. $130 to insure a vehicle that was undriven as soon as we found out we were underinsured! I believe selling a defective product either knowingly or due to incompetance is fraud, and I should be refunded in full. Save yourself a hassle, or worse, do not get insurance from AAA. They should stick to towing and handing out maps. read more
