This review is for the travel service, and Nadia Starner, the agent. She used to be over at their Alicia Parkway office and that's where we planned the trip. We are not seasoned travelers and I gave her a tough time more than once, but she never lost her cool. Any problems, she fixed, and no hassles and always nice and professional towards us. We even called her from Rome and Paris a few times in a panic, but not a problem. I think if you're doing a tour off one of their preplanned packages, you're going to have to really know what you want before you set an appointment. We put her through hoops, cancelling things, rebooking things, just must have drove her up a wall, but she never complained. And she's swamped. I've never seen such a busy lady, but she made time for us and answered every one of my 1000 emails and calls. We've been with AAA for years and I'm glad we tried out their travel service. read more

This place is just as frustrating as going to the DMV. I called twice to get the information I needed and was told what I should bring. I get there and the lady tells me that the phone service representatives often don't have the right information. And that what I need was additional items. However it was still the same price. I wait and finally get called to see the teller and he tells me it's going to cost me twice as much. So I left. It's ridiculous. Employees should know what they're talking about and be able to provide the customers with proper service. Waste of my time, wasted of my gas going back and forth. Absolutely ridiculous. I've never had a positive experience at AAA since moving to CA 5 years ago. I don't recommend them at all. Waste of your time and money. read more

Buyer beware. It's so unfortunate that as a consumer you purchase insurance with the idea that hopefully you'll never need it and then when you do need it and you call upon your insurance company and or your agent to assist you in your denied a claim it is exhausting. A horrendous rain storm and leaking from the roof and it's denied as a wear in tear claim and maintenance issues in a 15-year-old roof that has had maintenance during that time as well. If you have a DMV issue that is even remotely complex just go to the DMV. I think AAA is fine if you are doing something simple like paying registration. We just needed to transfer a personal plate from my wife to myself in order to put it on a car with only me on the registration. They royally screwed it up and didn't notify me for 8 months. Ended up costing me $160 in DMV late registration penalties. read more

This locations is great and Would be 5 star except for the battery quality which would apply to any AAA location in general. I have bought two battery's so far. Price and service is great but both had issues in two different cars with premature draining when sitting for more than a week with out a chargers. I have had other batteries in the same cars that lasted much longer for the same price. AAA warranty is good except they won't replace the battery if their tester shows its still chargeable. My current 9 mth old battery won't last more than 2 days now yet AAA won't replace it as they can still jump it. Their testing equipment shows the battery is still good, which it clearly is not. Even after the second call out the supervisor could not authorize a replacement due to what their test equipment showed. And this was a replacement battery for a completely failed 6 mth old AAA battery in Feb of this year. And just to clarify , their own equipment confirmed charging system on my car was fine. So now I have to wait for this battery to completely fail before it can be replaced, or schlep the car to pep boys and have their tester show the battery's bad. So as convenient as the AAA battery service is, when my warranty is up, I will be buying my batteries elsewhere read more

My first negative review. It's official... AAA San Clemente branch is officially slower and less efficient or competent than the actual DMV. Checked in, said it would only be a few minutes. Turned out to wait over 1:15min. They need to be able to page or txt wait times. Actually operates worse than a gov. entity. I sure hope it gets better. read more

Terrible. It's a big office that impresses you and the people at the front desk are nice. But that's about it. Beyond that, you get talk to the rudest agents with an attitude of "You are wasting my time." Then they'll connect you to the agent in a far away office you'll never get to meet in person. I had a quote with a copy of the form in Email, some of the information are filled in by their guess work because they didn't ask me nor let me fill in the form. when I pointed them out, he replied, "If you don't like it, go to the other companies." They seem to expect all customers to come in the office already committed to buy the coverage with minimum waste of time to them. read more

The one star is for the DMV service offered at this location. If the San Clemente DMV had not been closed for reconstruction I would have rather gone there. They do DMV services OK and the wait is usually less than at the DMV and they can give you stickers for registration that day instead of waiting in mail. We did a title transfer and it was not too painful and done right... but then we were given a sales pitch for life insurance... they will try and sell ya! The INSURANCE... don't go to this branch for it. If they call you to sell you Insurance from this branch HANG UP!!! I was offered Homeowners insurance, great rate, told to cancel current coverage and given a refund on my auto policy for multi-policy... then the Salesman (Dakarai Bruce) literally disappeared... calling the supervisor finally found out he went out but was back... after 2 month was told that AAA didn't service my housing area!!! Good thing my woman's intuition told me not to cancel! Then after renewing our "guaranteed policy" and paying in full a week later we get a call from this office from Matt Hoyt saying he apologize for not calling sooner that he was supposed to call last week but someone left the office and they were behind... come to find out our policy is invalid due to being over 24 on my mother's policy... I am 36!!! So it has been wrong for 12 years of being this way!!! He promised to call back that day... Saturday... didn't get a call for a week... and then he didn't send any of the requested quotes... but managed to cancel our policy without telling us and forcing me to sign a new policy. I called and cancelled the day after... being told by my new insurance company everything Matt told me was a Lie... and that they legally can't cancel a policy without our consent... but Matt did probably for his commission.... it has been more than 7 days since I cancelled and I still haven't received the money back yet!!! We were customers for over 28 years... and they treated us like crap... sales people are terrible... coverage is the same elsewhere! Get a good sales rep at another place... NOT AT THE SAN CLEMENTE OFFICE!! read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience with Noal Powell, the one who wrote my auto insurance in September 2014. I was disgusted with the experience at the time, but it took me three months to realize something disingenuous he did. In November, I used my membership for a roadside assistance call. The agents on the phone took good care of me, and the tow truck contractor got the car running, I learned something new ("bad gas" is a real issue in some vehicles), and despite the stress of the incident, I thought AAA was great. But in December, after receiving a surprising $60 bill in the mail for using an unknowingly "lapsed membership" for that call, I found out that on the date he wrote my auto insurance, Noal had removed me from my partner's membership and recorded it untruthfully as having been at my partner's request. My partner had made no such request, and in fact, both of us still want me on his membership. I came in that first day in September excited to research insurance options on a used vehicle I had just purchased, and I left insured, without a previously valid membership, with a new membership that I didn't want, and feeling confused and disempowered, having participated in meeting *his* (sales) goal and not *my* (research) goal. What good is a sale if the customer is unhappy, confused and, later, angry? I don't think AAA is bad, but I think this was a dishonest and unprofessional thing Noal did. I don't recommend doing business with Noal - ask for another agent or go to another AAA branch (the folks at Ladera Ranch seemed honest). I personally will avoid it and will not be renewing my insurance with AAA. read more

I have 3 policies with AAA. You CAN'T get ahold of anyone at any office, just voicemail. Plan on 45 minutes to an hour of holding time if you call the 877 number. I have been trying to get a vehicle removed from my policy for 6 months. After leaving numerous messages at the branches I finally called the 877 number, sat on hold for 45 minutes and I thought I had the problem solved. I was wrong, the vehicle is STILL on my policy and I am still being charged for a vehicle that has been insured with Geico for the past 6 months. I wish I could give them a better review, but the agents just don't seem to follow through. read more

Literally the worst service here 2 times in a month. Regretting my choice to choose them as a provider. Nicole helped me with auto insurance and failed to let me know that it was with a third party. Long story short I was sending my money to AAA and not the 3rd party. I got no refund and has to reinstate my license. Went to get registration tags and asked what I needed to get tags. I was ready and when I was called to the counter, the clerk had me go out to my car on 2 separate occasions because I didn't have the correct papers. It was an absolute hassle and I prefer the DMV over going to this AAA any day!!!!! read more

K so Autoclub offices. Unless you're booking travel plans you either need insurance or DMV service, in which both cases are as wanted as a dental cleaning. I recommend this location highly due to two things - low wait times and YES they do know what they're doing when it comes to DMV.. When to go? After the morning rush but before the lunch time slaughter during the week. Same with Sat. DMV knowledge - Exceptional but probably depending on who u get. I have done several difficult boat + trailor, old car going from non-op to street + smog hell and my usual car crap and they've always been great. The whole CA DMV is a fubar'd mess which we only have ourselves to blame, so eat your tax money and cry to the Governor. Travel? In going to domestic...especially Hawaii, Europe and Mexico they've been great. I HATE tours and cruises, dealt with numerous agents and all are pretty damn good. Caribbean and especially Asia they fall short so I use another method. Insurance? Not sure been insured by them for damn...30 years?? Don't give your 16 year old the family 4x4 and you'll be fine. 4x4's eat up premiums, Also, most of the insurance stuff can be done over the phone or online. Kirk out read more
