I want to share my most recent experience. I have been working with Christina is our travel agent and she is truly amazing. We had booked a trip pre pandemic and clearly we didn't take that trip last year. so this year Christina called me in March and said if you want to take a trip you should book now. Christina was so right. I booked my trip than March but have had some up's and down's. Christina has been there the whole way has made me feel like family. If it's for registration or movie tickets this location is always good at getting the job done. I arrived 5 minutes before they opened this morning and was concerned about the 15 people already waiting in line outside. However, they opened the doors at 9, and a woman expedited the line by asking each person what service they needed and directed them to the right area. I was checked in at 9:05 and walking out the door at 9:20! I was so impressed by their efficiency and kindness, especially since I was there to pick up my renewal registration paper and sticker after initially paying online when it was due in June, never receiving the sticker, calling the dmv multiple times where they supposedly mailed new stickers to me in DC a couple times, and getting pulled over last week for expired tags. In 20 minutes, this AAA office was able to solve a problem I've been dealing with for 5 months and spent countless hours online, on the phone, and face-to-face with police officers... My AAA membership is worth every penny! And it was so wonderful they were able to assist me since my membership is with AAA Mid-Atlantic Region even though my car is registered in California. I want to give AAA reps Ashley and Montana 10 billion stars these ladies were amazing and went above and beyond to help me with my DMV issues. Where I am giving this a 2 stars is because of the elderly lady by the name of Carmen that was very rude when it came to the rep Ashley that was assisting me had asked her a question regarding my transaction and I let her know I would possibly need a t.o.p so I can get my smog and she said we would have to charge $50 for that. I let her know I worked within a c.u. handling DMV and that when I would get these t.o.ps for my members DMV wouldn't charge me and I would do this very often. I let her know I would go to the DMV instead after I had Ashley start the process my transaction. The lady said she had a memo and made a point to grab a copy of that memo and shove it under my hands. The rep that helped my Ashley saw her behavior and let me know she can give me a day permit which was perfect. She saw the issue and gave a solution vs. Carmen that was trying to make a point. This was not ok so I let her manager know and she was very apologetic on behalf of that rude rep. So if you guys have to visit this location I hope none of you have to deal with Carmen and are able to have any other rep help you especially Montana and Ashley. I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews but this lady really bothered me and put a damper on my day. read more

Do not use aaa if you own an rv. I ve literally been waiting for 4 hours and now I have to call a private tow at $450 to go 1/2 mile. I must have called them a dozen times and it was one excuse after another. I finally talked to someone with a brain and she said they were having trouble finding a tow truck company that had a truck big enough. I waited 4 hours to find out they would reimburse me for a private tow. I am halfway in an intersection. Don't buy their insurance for your RV. read more

I apply for home insurance at AAA. At first, agent Arif was helpful and was able to give me a quote which is better than my previous insurance. When AAA did the home inspection,, the backyard was not approved because I have some clothes hanging to dry up, also the inspector had an issue about the stuff in my garage that is owned by my aunt . I organized and clean the garage, clean the backyard and send another picture to Arif after several weeks. No answer. I called him several times to follow up,,, left several messages , still he is not answering or calling back. Arif has no courtesy to call or send an email if he cannot assist. I called AAA and they recommend another agent from Pasadena that has the same work attitude . AAA should give customer service class to their agents. read more

Love this location, especially the people inside. For one the parking is nice and spacious so you wont hav any trouble finding parking. It does tend to get busy but they move it along pretty quickly so you arent standing in line too long. Just recently we had a incident where someone stole our entire rear license plate. Dreading the lines at the dmv, had friends recommend triple A to get our new plates. This saved us tons of time and i was able to get new plates that same day. Another time we had to switch over registration and needing a notary as well and Carmen at the Northridge location was more than patient with us and our tons of paperwork. She was able to explain everything in detail as well as show us the benefits of the premier level of membership. We really appreciated her for all her help and her very friendly attitude. We will definitely be coming back to this spot in the future. read more

I switched to AAA car insurance and it was a big mistake! The service was horrible and inefficient. My monthly rate doubled to $406 / mo, just because I moved to another city 1/2 hour away! I called them to raise my deductible to get a lower money rate, and nothing changed. Then, when I called them to cancel, they wouldn't refund me for the rest of the month I paid for and charged me $123 in a cancellation fee! I went into the AAA office in Northridge off Reseda Blvd today to transfer a title and I'm sorry to say, but Rosemary was just unpleasant. I'm a dues-paying-member, I expect a courteous employee while there. I'm sad about it, because I've never had a bad experience at any AAA office before, ever. Rosemary wasn't the rudest person I've ever encountered in general, but she was definitely the rudest of any AAA employee I've ever encountered. I had a couple questions about transferring a title of a used vehicle I recently bought and she seemed upset that I didn't know the answers to these questions. She was really rude when she asked where the car was currently parked and how it got there without current registration, like she was going to report me to the authorities if I told her I drove the car unregistered. Then she tried to tell me to buy moving permits until I told her I had 2 to move the car to and from locations and for smog. She proceeded to tell me she wouldn't register the car without me bringing the 1 day moving permits to her. Never heard of this before. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Then she seemed upset that I didn't sign a document because I overlooked it and even more upset that I asked her about the voter questions on the back page, because she told me to fill out the front and the back page - this is where she could tell I had enough. After I asked a question about it and she had a snide reply, I simply said that she "doesn't have to be rude about it." She was taken aback by this comment, which surprised me. How could she not know how unpleasant she is. I couldn't be the first to call you out on your shitty, angry at life attitude. Anyway, she tells me my total and before I can respond or get my wallet out, she says "so are we doing this or what?!" I really had to bite my tongue with this woman, but I kept my cool. And I forgot that AAA only does cash or check, which was great because that meant I would go get cash from the atm and come back and avoid Rosemary altogether. The next person who helped me was much more pleasant and friendly to interact with, I believe her name was Leslie. Thank you Leslie! And thanks but no thanks to the grumpy, old, worn out Rosemary who's pissed at the world. Since your life is more than half over, maybe you should start counting your blessings instead of burdens, Miss Rosemary. The average human life expectancy is about 78 years, you're looking every bit of your age and then some, maybe that's why you're so pissed off... I had my insurance here for a couple of years and unfortunately got sideswiped on the freeway. While they ultimately paid the claim the customer service the company brags about in their advertising was not there from their adjuster who did NOT return any of my calls and only took care of me after i was forced to make repeated complaints. i cancelled my insurance after and found much better insurance for my car CHEAPER elsewhere. Came here to pay my insurance. I'm ahead on the payments so I knew this was my last payment for the year. I got here and they said I still owed them $300 when my bill said differently. The lady at the counter Christi was rude and impatient. I asked to speak to her manager and she hesitated to do so. Tony took me into his office and asked how he could help. We discussed what was happening and solved the issue. I had a few add ons that's the reason why I went personally in the first place. He was very helpful but Christi just wasn't. This location is focused on travel planning; over half the office is dedicated to travel agents and colorful displays and shelves of books about various exotic locations. Even if you're looking to stay in CA, you can get driving maps and all sorts of other cool stuff, like maps of the state's wineries. I went there for the DMV services; members can take care of most DMV stuff at AAA, and I only waited for five minutes, as opposed to the lines out the door I've seen at the Winnetka DMV. I had to talk to two separate people, both of whom were very nice, and got my stuff straightened out with no problem. I'd expected between waiting and paperwork I was going to spend an hour in there, but I was out in 15-20 minutes. Careful about the parking lot: if you're not going north on Reseda, it's gonna be a pain to turn in. You can't get to the AAA lot from the Rite Aid lot, either. read more

I was a 40 year member of AAA, the last 10 or so of which I had the Premier membership. but I decided to let my membership lapse because of the poor service in this office. Well, I needed to renew my car registration so I thought I would use that as an excuse to go in, reinstate my membership and let them handle my renewal. I went in yesterday checked in and was told someone in sales would be "right with me". In fact I heard them page sales a couple of times. The receptionist told me that once the sales people got me back on the membership roll, they would then and only once I was done there, then they would add my name to the queue and it would be a 35 minute or more wait to get my DMV transaction handled. There were so many people waiting that every seat was filled and there were at least 15 people standing and hovering waiting for someone to get up and abandon their seat. After standing there for 10 minutes and not noticing anyone's name get called; I left. Maybe I will try again in 2018, but somehow, I doubt it. BTW I went to the DMV in Winnetka and they have a self-server kiosk. I was in and out in 5 minutes and did not have the AAA membership fee. read more

I've always believed in AAA, I had my life insurance my towing and car insurance with them but about a year ago an employee told me I owed them a balance of 135 dollars, I paid the amount, closed my insurance account and about 3 months later I get a bill for 82 dollars along with a threat that they are going to report me to the credit bureau. So I figure this is AAA they know what they're doing this will sort out and be taken care of in few minutes... was i wrong!? Next thing I know im going in circles with these idiots! I go see an associate by the name of kelli who is lost in space after 20 minutes of wasting my time she went and got jeff the manager, a self made Homer Simpson he just needed a donut (someone please get him a donut) As soon as Homer i mean jeff walked in matt groening would have been proud. Jeff walks in from behind me and his first words are "hi Jose". ... that showed me how under qualified he really is, he then continues telling me how he couldn't do anything, but he shut up for a minute and actually listened then he said hold on let me make some calls, at this point I actually saw his brain give up and his eyes went to a vacant state as he panicked. It seems like jeff only knows three phrases 1. hold on 2. I can't do anything about it 3. They won't let me do it So he said he supposdly went and spoke to a few managers ( to be honest it look like he was living in fear and he just went and walked around and hid his office until I found out where is office was) so he left a messages but none of them called back we're waiting for a call back, in the meanwhile I go get something to eat I come back 45 minutes later and still no answer. Places like this bring up the age-old Yelp question of whether or not to grade relative to the curve (do I give this Auto Club location a better grade cuz it's a slightly less awful experience than visiting the DMV?), but all I can say is I hope to never have to return. I came in with two forms to drop off. One of the forms was for my mom and had been signed by her doctor, and it was a bit of an ordeal getting the form. When I presented the form to the woman behind the counter, she looked it over, noticed a spot where the doctor had made a mistake in the form & initialed his correction, then proceeded to tell me that this form could not be accepted because the DMV was did not accept forms like this. Now, I understand that you work for a petite bureaucracy, that rules are rules, and that we must follow the laws lest we descend into anarchy. I'm just wondering if you could let me know that this form is unacceptable in a slightly less officious & pedantic manner. The doctor had initialed his correction...doesn't his seven years of medical training give him any leeway? After giving her the other form, the woman tried to sell me life insurance. I'm sure again that she's just following the rules as dictated by her position, but I'd rather not have to deal with a sales pitch. Tip: If you want to incite a riot, you can jump the line by entering at the door on Reseda Blvd. side. Great location and great service. I was in the area, so I decided to stop by because I had been meaning to pick up some travel guides. I live near the Encino location, but since this was close I decided to run my errand here. I walked in and it was not bhsy...probably because it was raining. Anyways, I have the premier membership site the aaa travel guides are free as always, as well as some of the exclusive European ones. It was pretty cool. I'm thinking about planning a vacation to Walt Disney world in the future, so I thought i would get a tiny head start. The receptionist was really nice helping me out by giving me some maps, as well as little tote bags to hold everything in. I know that they do also offer vacation planning, so maybe I'll even come to them to help with booking everything. So disappointed in their service. Beware of AAA battery service! 2 years ago when my car battery died while I was out of town AAA sent out Black's Towing, sold me a new batt and fixed my car. While 2 years later when the battery dies! I take the battery out to charge it, doesn't work. So the batt says "3 yr warranty" I call AAA, they send their service out the driver won't even get out of his vehicle, says "you removed the batt warranty is void." I'm sorry, I didn't know I couldn't remove my battery from my own vehicle. That's usually the first thing you do when something doesn't work right. So after purchasing their battery 2 years later I'm replacing it again! I just want to save someone else some money by NOT touching your own vehicle. Now I need someone to take me to another battery shop to buy another battery. read more

If If you get AAA for the year it's about $50 and extra $26 for another person. However they just offered a new deal if you sign up for automatic renewal they let you the second person for free. It's is worth it in my book even if you never need a jump, tow or gas ($5). There are additional perks that can be used. Number one getting out of DMV lines alone is priceless! You can pay for the renewal of your tags and they give them to you right away. They only take cash or check. You can also book a trip with them too for a good price. Most hotels and even some restaurants offer a 10-15% discount off your bill just by being a AAA member. Every little bit helps especially when it comes to dealing with money. read more

This is my first AAA registration renewal experience and I'm beyond happy. Every year I have to go to the DMV because they never send me my registration renewal notice. I have to make an appointment, wait for my number to be called, complain that I never received my notice and then leave, begrudgingly, with my sticker. This year I went to this branch on a Saturday, checked in, stood in another line, paid my registration fee with a check (they don't accept credit card or debit for DMV fees) and left with my renewal and my sticker. Thank goodness for AAA. Yes, you have to pay to be a member, but it pays for itself when it comes to doing business with the DMV. This particular AAA location is in the heart of Northridge, and even on their busiest day (Mondays - they say), I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I had to pay for my tags, and rather than spending a lifetime at the DMV, I ran to AAA. AND, they even give you the tags on the spot! Perfect. Yes, they were super busy - guess what they say about Monday is true - but I was still in and out in a hurry. They had 15 windows open (yes, 15) to help out and it seemed like as soon as I sat down in the waiting area, my name was being called. Sweeeeeet. True, Amy K, getting in the parking lot can be a pain in the ass if you're NOT going North on Reseda Blvd. However, if you are coming South on Reseda, make a left on Plummer and you can get in the parking lot when you pass the Rite-Aid.
