My Yelp friend Joe T and I were just sharing our AAA Insurance experiences... And coincidentally I am here today. Quality/Quantity - The website is NOT user friendly. I tried to set up auto payment on your website to get my $10 credit and just could not do it. I received a renewal invoice stating that if I sign up for auto renewal, I would save $10. But because I have been a member since XXXXX, I guess I got the $10 credit decades ago and do NOT qualify for it again. The invoice was NOT clear! The employee could not get me my $10 credit, so I just paid my $$ and left. Atmosphere - Still a new-looking location. Plenty of parking. Open 6 days a week from 9am to 5pm or 6pm. Closed Sundays. Service - 5 stars, my favorite AAA branch. Rarely any customers. No need for appointments, just walk-in. I waited less than 5 minutes. Price - $300, was able to pay via credit card... Cut and pasted from their website as this was VERY confusing: "DMV transactions accept credit/debit cards and cash, insurance transactions accept debit cards, cash and checks, and all other transactions accept credit/debit cards, cash and checks for payment." The ambience here is very nice and roomy. Lots of place to sit and I love they display the different services AAA offers. I keep forgetting that AAA does DMV as well so that's a plus. I drop by this office when I have to pay my DMV registration renewals and insurance policies or if I have questions about my policies. You check in with the receptionist at the entrance and your name is added to the list for assistance which is shown on the video monitors. Your name will be called when it's your turn for service. I found this old $1500 Lexus with a manual 5 spd freshly posted at midnight and at that moment I knew I had to buy it - I also saw myself stranded and broken down - steaming and smoking that old junker. At once I purchased AAA roadside - peace of mind - 250 miles worth. Yeah, thats a great idea. I once got stranded in Barstow with a couple friends on the way home from Vegas - we made the best of it but the cut rate towing service from Allstate I had at the time left me questioning my spending priorities. One of my friends Jeffery S mentioned he had AAA and that if I had all this problems with Allstate towing 'shopping around' while I was stranded - he would be happy to help me out. Well, its time to grow up. Its time you finally get your own AAA service. Early at 8am I call about what would be my new Lexus MT5. Turns out somebody had just purchased it at 7:30am. Thats disgusting. Who is car shopping on Craigslist at 6:30am. Get a life. Meanwhile months and months and months had passed since this jerk purchsed my lexus from under my nose. It had been a year of impossible used car prices. Serioulsy I'd show up and this slimy guy raises is price $1000 between the time I get there and had shown intrest on the car. Some BMW convertible just north of the Golden Gate with 16,000 miles. Watch out. Bad news. Bait and switch. Finally I found a find and sealed the deal Saturday private party. Usually that would mean 2 3 hour wait at DMV. No, not today. Took just 5 10 minutes and the registration was updated simple as that. My lexus MT5 is history but the value of my luxury 250 mile AAA towing plan comes in handy when I least expect it. Credit card machine was down so I had to go across the street to Chase to get the cash for the tax and $15 transfer fee but still the most pleasant car buying experience with the exception of Carmax. read more

My dad and I went to AAA this past Saturday to get clarification on our updated insurance policy. Agent Khanh Nguyen is by far the most unprofessional AAA agent we have encountered in the past 17 years of working with AAA. After editing the policy online, we asked her why our statement showed a $1600 due while the new policy was only $1200 when we checked online. Her response was, "$1600 is the total," and no future explanations were provided. We had to keep probing her with more questions to get a clearer answer finally. We then asked her about how to get the matured driver discount, and she told us to Google it or go to the nearest senior center. On top of her lack of knowledge of AAA's discount resources, her attitude was worse. The entire time we talked to her, she was busy typing on her computer and drinking coffee. Minimal eye contact was made during our conversations, and when eye contact was made, it was filled with eye-rolling. She made it obvious that she didn't welcome us to talk to her, so we were bothering her. After we came home, I searched for her name on Yelp review and was not surprised that we were not the only ones with similar experiences. I will continue to escalate this, and I hope more people will see this and avoid this agent if AAA decides to continue to hire her. We are members who pay agents like Khanh Nguyen to provide services for us and not the other way around. We don't expect her always to smile, but we do ask for basic professionalism from an insurance agent. There are great insurance agents within AAA, but Khanh Nguyen is certainly not one of them. read more

Beware of her because she will give you an attitude the whole time with an annoyed look on her face. My wife and I have been members for 50 years. We have car and homeowners insurance. We've not used the homeowner's insurance until recently, so the folks at AAA helped get us a claim number and select a contractor from their network approved companies. The service is excellent, folks pleasant and the progress was prompt. The plans are a bit more expensive then the competition, but better service make that difference up. read more

First I just wanna say the staff there is respectful and courteous but then I was helped by a lady named Khanh Nguyen, she started off very rude and not helpful at all. Any questions I had, she treated them as dumb questions and was answering the questions either with "I don't know or there's nothing I can do". I can tell that she just wanted me to leave and didn't want to deal with me. I had to pry just to get answers on questions I had. And when I told her why couldn't she just begin with that answer instead of idk she replied everyone "knows that" more rude comments. At the end all she had to do was look at my policy to answer my questions but she didn't even do that til I insisted. Overall don't come here. And especially to her. I should have my head examined. Three awful experiences should teach me, and I hope you learn from my experience: 1. After the 1989 earthquake I filed a claim on my homeowner's policy. The Federal Emergency Management Administration, FEMA, came and said the damage was $150,000 to my home. AAA came, investigated, and gave me a check for $1237!!! 2. I was accused of hitting another car. This was a scam. The pictures provided by the "victim", showing damage to a car, were NOT the car ahead of us that day. Luckily, I had a witness. AAA was going to pay the person, who claimed 'whiplash'. I strenuously objected. They paid her, but didn't immediately raise my auto insurance rates. 3. After driving 68 years I have never had an at fault accident. Now I am accused of hitting a parked car. The truth is that both the other car and my car went for a parking space at the same time. Because the other car was about a foot ahead of me, I am charged with damaging their car. My car has a few scratches on the bumper, easily rubbed off. Their car shows extensive damage all along the side of the car. At first AAA refused me the pictures "showing the damage I caused". When I got the pictures I can certainly see why. The damage to the other car could NOT have been caused by my car! Insurance shopping time! read more

I was rear ended and stranded on the freeway. AAA has left me out here for over 4 hours and counting in a dangerous location.On my 5th call, they said the truck would be here in 2 more hours! They cancelled my tow, had miscommunications, told me the truck was here and maybe I just couldn't see it, the list goes on and on. They have done nothing right. I was recently in an accident on March 25. I was parked in a store parking lot when the guy backed into me really hard injured my left side messed up the side of my car. AAA told me to take the car to Crash Champions here in Alameda, because they have a reputation with them a history with them. I suspect without telling me that I needed to contact the person that hit me insurance to file a claim. My insurance opened up a claim sent me to Crash Champions where Crash Champions returned my car in such a condition first of all it's pulling me way to the right secondly, he painted it blew a very dark blue when I have a black Honda accord. My car is destroyed. I have to literally hold it with my injured side to keep this car straight. When I spoke to the adjuster at my insurance company the people that I pay she told me that they were not going to have that car looked at that it had nothing to do with the accident when I'm telling you that my car was not pulling me prior to the accident she's unwilling AAA is unwilling to even entertain the idea that something could've been overlooked that maybe they weren't as thorough as they weren't saying they were. Maybe they work with the people that they took the place took the car to have the alignment done. Maybe they're all just in cahoots maybe is systemic I don't trust my own insurance, and she sounded very very nasty. I am so hurt. I am so disgusted and I imagine there's a lot of African-Americans that pick up AAA because we've been told that you're good but you're a piece of shit you're a piece of shit insurance company that's what you are and you only work for white people apparently these are my feelings and that is my truth read more
