Two words: run away!…read more Summary of my experience: I was with this agency for about three years and had nothing but negative experiences, including: - home and auto insurance rates were ~1.5-2x more expensive compared to other major insurance companies such as State Farm AND provides significantly less coverage (I left McDermottCosta and saved almost 50% annually while getting better coverage) - staff were rude, unhelpful, unresponsive, unknowledgeable, and inaccurate - doesn't watch out for the customer's best interest (e.g., seem to sell you on a particular insurance company and refurses or responds very slowly when you ask for other options, which I'm assuming because McDermottCosta gets a higher profit margin?) - application renewals were filled with mistakes (e.g., home purchase year off by 5 years, birthday was completely wrong and off by about 15 years) I'm all for supporting local businesses, but it also has to be earned. McDermottCosta never earned my business despite actually having it for a few years (I blame myself for not leaving more quickly).
