Visited this place again for the first time in three years, and I am very pleased to see that nothing has changed. It's an incredibly well stocked store with a very wide variety of hobby supplies. From radio controlled cars and planes, to plastic model kit, to gaming accessories. I couldn't think of anything this place didn't have. The staff were very friendly as well. I could happily stay engaged in conversation for hours with them. In the end, I left with a fairly hard to find model kit that I've only ever seen online. read more

If you're looking for hard-to-find models/replicas of famous warships and planes or you have an R/C car lover in your family, this is the place to visit. There is also half a wall devoted to my newest passion: Tamiya Mini 4WD cars. These are little toy cars you snap together and attach with screws but without glue. You insert two AA batteries in them and race them against other cars. Sound easy? Sound stupid? It's not. Once you see this in person, you will understand completely. It's one person's science experiment against another's... and may the best car win! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and are willing to answer all your questions. Selection of paints and tamiya model kits is amazing, prices of items are quite high and is definitely charged at a premium.

This is a challenging review as I love models and craft stores and I thoroughly recommend new hobbyist to consider visiting a store just like this for inspiration. However, in the era of online shopping, I will say that most of the toys, tools, and model kits are a few deviations more expensive than their online counterparts. For new parents out there, this store has a great selection of Melissa and Doug toys (high quality wood-based toys), so if you're around the area and need to pick up a quick birthday gift, this place has it all. read more

I'm not 'crafty' or into any of the hobbies there (trains and cars to build) but I did like the selection of crayons, markers, googly eyes! and other (easy) things to do and make. They even have PAINT BY NUMBERS! I almost bought one for . . . myself but didn't ; ) The prices are a bit higher than Target/Walmart but at least you're giving back to the community and a 'mom and pop' type of shop, which I'm more cognizant of, thanks so my boyfriend. read more

I've been coming to AAA Hobbies and Crafts since I was a kid. Model cars was always my thing. Well, today for the first time I needed help with a train set, of which i have little to no experience. I loved that there were so many models, trains and the store was easy to navigate. I liked how the different models were sorted out by brand (the Tamiya's with the Tamiya's for example) and I like their little display cases with completed models in them. read more

I am so impressed every time I walk in here. I've been coming to this place literally since I was born. You can find pretty much everything you could imagine that has to do with models, trains, doll houses, drawing, and more. Got back into rocketry after many years. Closest thing I can find to the old time neighborhood hobby shop in my area. Selection of every hobby seems pretty good. I was able to quickly get some scratchbuilding and finishing supplies which would be a pain to order online. I found staff here friendly and knowledgeable and were able to directly guide me to things I needed. Will be back. read more

I've been coming here for ages, probably since they opened. VERY knowledgable staff, but like many specialty shops, the folks who know it best aren't always fawning "People Persons". I like to go in and browse for as long as I want, and be left alone. They get that. If I have a question, I'll ask. They have a GREAT selection, in no small part due to an enormous mail-order warehouse in the back of the same building. Conversion parts, add-ons, photo etched accessories for models; if they don't have them in stock, ASK. You'd be amazed what they get for you. Fantastic place. I know of hobbyists who travel hours to visit. For 15 years, it was 90 minutes for me. WELL worth it. read more

My husband and I went in looking for a present for his niece. There were 3 older men at the front counter when we walked in. None of them greeted us nor asked if we needed any help. This continued as we looked through the store, even though we were the only ones there at the time. Selection is poor, prices high, help nonexistent. Why would I buy here? I stopped in here for the first time today. The store is big, and they have a lot of different stuff, more unique things than you see in AC Moore and Michael's. They seem to focus more on model building than on more mainstream crafts like sewing and painting. Some of it is pricey, but they're a small business so I'm okay with that. They were having a clearance sale so I got a few things discounted. My main problem was the staff...none of them were friendly. No smiles, no greeting when I walked in, and when I tried to make conversation with them I got short answers. The man who rang me up didn't even say hello back to me when I got to the counter. I was just browsing so I didn't need help with anything, but if I had I would've been hesitant to ask anyone because they all looked miserable and like they didn't want to be bothered. I don't like when I'm at stores and I get asked if I need help every time I turn a corner, but I don't like when basic customer service skills are lacking either. read more

I went in hoping to rekindle a hobby from my childhood of building and painting model cars. I know prices have gone up since 1995, but geez! These guys aren't just pricey, they outright try to gouge you. Additionally, you have three employees all moping around the store who look like they hate their jobs and would probably ask you why you're bothering them if they could. I want to support local businesses, especially in specialized areas where I could use some guidance and help (which you're certainly not going to get online). I've been to this store twice over the last few months, looking to get into model railroading again. They have tons of stuff, and I could easily be a longtime customer, but their attitude *stinks*. I wasn't offered any help (even though they weren't busy), and when I asked a couple of simple (admittedly naive) questions, they just rolled their eyes. They didn't offer any advice, resources, or support. REALLY?! When the only thing a local store has going for it is customer service (certainly not price), you'd think they'd make an effort. Kids aren't getting into model-building any more, and if the older generation that runs this store is any indication, the field isn't encouraging anyone else to get into it. It's gonna go the way of the dodo, and nobody's going to miss it. read more

Do your research before making a purchase! I went in on a whim after work and was charged more then double the actual cost. I bought a Protox nano quad drone, decent product- i was charged 60$. Online i noticed a few days later the actual cost is 30$ MAX from any retailor. This is why no shops local anymore! Dont make my mistake, do your research before making a purchase from this establishment - dont get fleeced like i did. read more

love going here they have every paint and paint accessory needed which is great. just wish they had more gaming minitures ,they have a lot of Warhammer 40k just nothing else such as bolt action, flames of war saga ect. great place though. read more

They have what you want, if you aren't looking for discounts. Most of the staff is outright rude, if you can pull them away from talking to each other. If you ask them the wrong question, they make fun of you. I asked a guy about weathering and he just said "buy a book" and the other workers laughed at me.
