I really hate to leave a bad review, but I strongly feel that my husband and I were taken advantage of despite my trying to resolve the situation several times.
My husband has used this florist for three years. We've never had a problem. I have loved every arrangement he's surprised me with.
For this past Mother's Day, he had a large bouquet delivered. He spent $150 on it as he wanted something substantial. Upon putting it on our kitchen table, I noticed the white "filler" flowers (it was a peony arrangement, I don't know the name of these flowers) were wilted and brown. There were maybe five or six of these. Otherwise, the arrangement was beautiful. I showed my husband and he emailed them explaining the issue. The owner responded that they would send a "replacement." We thought that meant a new arrangement. The next evening someone dropped off six replacement stems of the same flower to my husband. We had no idea anyone was coming and he was in the middle of giving our toddler a bath, so he couldn't discuss the matter at that moment. I come home and he shows me what they delivered. This is when I started getting frustrated. She then wrote in another email to my husband that "your wife can swap out the old ones for the new ones." Well, I'm not a florist and don't know how to arrange flowers, also, we didn't pay $150 for a DIY kit. The really, really ridiculous thing was that half of the replacement stems were also wilted and dying.
So, I called. I was very polite as I know small businesses have gone through hell with COVID and everything this last year. And I was also mindful that this was the first problem with them in three years. The owner was cordial, too, but reluctant to properly handle the situation. At this point, I thought a partial refund was fair. She was confused as to why my husband or I couldn't redo the arrangement ourselves. If it was a $40 bouquet, yeah, sure, I get it. But $150?! Come on. She then said she would deliver a replacement bouquet on Thursday, May 13th. I thanked her and we ended the call.
Thursday comes. I have errands to run, but was trying to be mindful of the delivery as I didn't want them sitting in the hot sun.
Then it's 6pm with no delivery. My husband writes an email. We get a response at 11pm stating their delivery driver didn't show up or something to that effect. No apology. She then said the delivery would be there "Friday afternoon" and to leave the first arrangement on our porch for them to take. Seriously?
The new arrangement is beautiful, but it's pretty small and not close to what my husband originally ordered.
The owner really, really didn't handle this situation well and unfortunately, has lost a customer that orders an arrangement every couple of months. We really never complain, but this feels just plain unfair.
We will be finding a new independent florist in Corona. read more
