We spent an unforgettable 10 days hiking the (express!) Inca trail to Machu Picchu and visiting Lima, The Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes and Cusco. I could write 10 pages about how much we loved traveling with Knowmad so I'll try to stick to the highlights. My husband and I usually handle all of our own travel planning, but when we came across Knowmad while researching how to visit Machu Picchu we realized we would probably get a lot more out of a trip to Peru traveling with specialists from the country. Another highlight was our e-bike ride through the Sacred Valley with our awesome guide Kirvi, who was so kind and on top of making sure we were safe and even getting some awesome photos and videos along the way. Our driver Abraham made us feel so welcome and kept us moving along and safe throughout our trip. The restaurants and hotels Knowmad arranged for us were excellent, and our picnic in the Sacred Valley and Pachamanca experience were unbelievable. Today I worked once again with Sherry Westby who has helped me several times in the past. She is a true professional, and helped out our group of four, even though we didn't have an appointment. She saved us a ton of money, not to mention time. She suggested options that we didn't even consider. In the long run, it is much more economical to use a company like Travel Leaders, rather than try to plan this on our own. My husband and I are both pretty Internet savvy, but I can tell you that working with this office has saved me considerable time and money. Jamie saved my travel day when I was traveling back to the states. My flight was canceled by AirFrance and I did not receive a notification updating me on my changed flight status. AirFrance also did not rebook my flight. Jamie called me the night before indicating that there has been a cancelation and rebooked my flight for the same day and close to the same departing time as my previous flight. I'm grateful she was paying attention! When I got the airport not everyone else was as lucky as me. Many also did not get a notification and came to the airport unaware of the cancelation. They all were also not re scheduled. As I was happily checking my bag and making my way through security I watched as others angrily checked into a re-booking counter. I'm very happy for the service that I got from Connections. I will be using them again next time I travel!
