There was a couple of different ones so that's nice and learned some different things that I learned from my previous trip, this does take you to harmony, but there is also another harmony Amish tour they are both good just that Harmony one was a tad bit more informative as he's been doing it for 30 years but like I said, still super fun and informative and Lanesboro is a super cute little town. remember to bring cash because that do not take credit so many fun things to buy from flowers to furniture to yummy baked goods, baskets, etc..

A beautiful walking path along the river, with plenty of benches to sit on to enjoy the view. There are boat tours daily during the warm months (beginning in May) and currently there are some "Hear Here" tours that were fun to listen to - call a number, plug in the location number and story number, and hear someone tell a story about that location. I don't know if this is always around, but as an out-of-towner it was fun to listen! As you stroll along you will eventually come to the Friendship Gardens - a beautifully put-together space of gardens inspired by different countries (and sister cities of La Crosse). It was such a nice place to quietly walk through and enjoy the flowers and sculptures. They had many sculptures that included flowing water - unfortunately at the time I was there none of them were running. I bet they are so beautiful when they are!

They had a cute little place for us to make s'mores got me all giddy. They also sell hot drinks and it was pretty crowded when I went. You can really see the effort La Crosse put into this event. Aside from the cars, they have a very cool hood ornament display case, as well as a timeline that includes the history of cars and includes the price of fuel and milk and U.S. population, etc., along the way. I took many more photos than what I posted because you really have to see the collection in person. They really have some special gems including a Subaru model that only 209 of were manufactured in 2019, so super rare. I consider this a must-visit when in La Crosse whether you are a car enthusiast or not!

The best museum in La Crosse and like best auto museum in Wisconsin…read more The downtown museum is in an optimum location with free and easy parking right on the street in front of the museum. Adults $5 with seniors even less. The cars are packed into the location but visitors can access each car with360 Degree clearance so you can see the from every angle. The age of this collection goes all the way back to 1909 up to 2016 and each car is pristinely restored and maintained. Displays for each vehicles gives year, model, and model specs as well as cultural details relevant to its time. Really interesting! They capture the not only the timeline of the dealership since its founding, but aspects of La Crosse's specific history, the auto industry as a whole, and America's culture. The hood ornament collection and the gas pump illuminated signs really complement the value of this museum. All of this is accomplished by adding great graphics and neon to pull it all together. My only wish is that the building was even bigger to hold them and grow this magnificent collection. I am not knowledgeable about cars, but this museum was a delight even for people like me. I would guess about 40-50 cars and trucks are on display. Many convertibles! I spent about 2 hours here appreciating this beautifully curated collection. Oh, the space can also be rented for corporate functions and small weddings, too! Finally, It is never packed so it is easy to enjoy time here without having to fight your way through a crowd. Don't miss it. It is worth a special trip to the city just for this museum on a rainy day.

Only one block wide but five blocks long, the park includes a set of tennis courts, baseball field, playground and a large picnic pavilion with a steam locomotive set. The train set is accessible and in very good condition for those who appreciate such things. There isn't an active or obvious decommissioned rail line here so it's interesting that a huge steam locomotive is here on display. The park is in reasonable condition with too much litter and dumping from people who should know better. While staying in la Cross doing my rail fan thing I stumbled on this park that has an old steam…read morelocomotive and caboose next to a rail tower that looks like it was moved to the property. The steam locomotive has Burlington route markings and the tower has grand crossing which is a real railroad tower that that was moved to the park. Rail fair takes place on the third Saturday in July with $5 tours of the tower and locomotive.
