When my parents asked me to plan a family trip for their 50th wedding anniversary celebration I was overwhelmed with the choices. I am so glad I met Ashley at AAA Carolinas Ballantyne. She listened to what we were all looking for and has been helping me plan for months. She is courteous, professional, prompt and very patient. We are all just so excited for this trip! Thank you again Ashley. I am already dreaming of my next vacation in 2018 and I will be seeing Ashley to plan that one too! read more

Ashley Palmer helped us to find the perfect island and the perfect all-inclusive deal knowing the items that were important to us! She has been wonderful to deal with, this is our second vacation booked through her. We have not left for our trip to Aruba yet, cannot wait! The process has been seamless and the communication top notch! We will use Ashley every time we go outside of the area for our vacations! It is so nice to have the travel details taken care of so all you have to worry about is the drink on the plane and waiting for your vacation to start! Thanks Ashley! I was there only for NC safety and emissions test - and I had an 8am appointment - still, my car was not taken for test until like 9am. I saw cars taken in and out of service bays, but I didn't see any owner moving out of the waiting area - that shows that they are not able to service the cars as per appointments and/or which owner is waiting or not. Their setup seems to be good, and staff is quite courteous - so all they need is to improve their scheduling-servicing coordination. read more

I was told on the phone my wait time would be an hour. So I show up and the wait time was 1 1/2 hours so I had to reschedule. For the rescheduled appointment I dropped my car off 1 hour early giving them 3 hours to do an oil change and tire rotation. I show up at 5 and my car was just being put up on the lift and I was late picking up my child from daycare. NOT COOL! read more

My car wouldn't start in the pouring rain. I am new to Charlotte and wasn't sure where to take my car. I ended up calling AAA and requested they tow my car to this location which was after hours. First thing in the morning my husband called and spoke to Warren "Turnip" and let him know our concerns. My husband asked that he communicate with both of us once he knew the issue. I got a call from Warren who advised it was the starter. He explained very thoroughly exactly what was wrong which I appreciated, and advised of the most cost effective way to handle the fix. A few hours later, he called back to say the car was ready and asked if I needed a ride to pick it up. Warren, the courtesy car driver and the staff that helped me inside were all so nice. Everyone was so attentive and I received excellent, professional, friendly service! Thank you so much for the great service and I will be back for future car service needs!!! read more

I scheduled an oil change because I received coupons for $20 off. My intent was to use this toward a synthetic blend change that was listed at a regular price of $ 59.99. Therefore I was expecting to pay around $ 40. Much to my dismay the quote ended up to be $ 98. When asked why the response was my vehicle took 1.4 more quarts of oil. I asked for an explanation of how 1.4 additional quarts could cost $ 58 more. The answer was "look at my computer screen and that what it shows." To say the least I will never go there for service. I was able to go to a competitor and got a change for $ 37, and no upcharge for the extra quarts of oil. Because of this I may also cancel my membership and look at other options. read more

I've had good service in a reasonable amount of time here before but not this time. I needed an oil change and tires rotated, but they also found the alignment needed to be adjusted. That took over 2 hours and unfortunately I noticed that much of that time nothing was being done to my car or the technician was busy talking with someone. The oil change costs over $100, and that was with $22 off with a coupon. The same oil change on my previous car was about $60 with a coupon. Can't see returning here. read more

Incompetent at best, crooked at worst. Either way, stay away. Had car towed in and Gary tells me tire is damaged and has to be replaced. Tire had a leak between treads and was patched. read more

I went here because my steering wheel was making a sqeeking sound especially in the mornings. I was told I needed a new rack and pinion -which costs 1200. Tony made it seem like my car was going to fall apart if I didn't do it. They screwed me, I wasted 1200. Complained to AAA, they did nothing so I cancelled my membership. People are no longer joining AAA because its not worth it so to make more money they are opening these car maintenance places and ripping people off. Don't go here. No more AAA at all for me. read more

Recently my car left me stranded. A quick response form AAA to this business proved to be a positive experience. The management team gave me an honest assessment of the trouble and provided a free shuttle to and from work. I will definitely return to this business, now under new management. read more

After 3 visits and a $1000 Bill my car was finely fixed. For an AAA brand car care center they are a very poor reprentative!

Took my truck to Ballantyne location for a state inspection. I have always been charged 30.00. This past week I received a bill for 40.00. When I called and asked why I was given the excuse that the state mandates an inspection of tinted windows as part of the inspection and that is an additional 10.00. After reviewing and writing to the NCDOT I find that they do not MANDATE such a test unless the inspection station has the meter and the ability, and the vehicle has aftermarket tint installed. There is no rate mandate. I have had this vehicle inspected here before and never charged this add on, nor do I have aftermarket tint. This is a ripoff by AAA to add another fee, on top of all the "recommended" service they try to sell you with any work or inspection. PS - Ask up front, because this extra cost will not be quoted nor explained when you take you car in and pay your bill. read more

This is the only place I have taken my vehicle in the past 2 years. Amazing service. The staff at the care center is very informative and friendly. They match prices and I have never felt pressured into doing more maintenance on my car than needed. Always a great job! read more

everything just perfect and all was ready when promised! we would recommend aaa/ballantyne to one and all. read more

I moved to Charlotte from NJ 4 years ago, and this place was convenient to my location at the time. With 2 vehicles, I figured I would try them out as searching for a quality auto service team was imperative. Never looked for another spot. Gary, Jamell, John and the whole crew have been like family. They have maintained my vehicles with the utmost care and concern. They provide safety advice, and make sure that I am not inconvenienced with being shuttled back and forth to my job. Even when I moved further away, I stayed with them. When I pay for a service, I am very discriminating that I am not just treated as a bill, but as a person who expects integrity and respect. They are more than mechanics. They go further and care about me and my safety. They are not just quality professionals, but quality people. And quality is what I look for in my services. read more

Called AAA to get my car towed due to hesitation, sputtering check engine light on. They suggested I take it to AAA Autocare for repair. This location is around the corner from my house so I say ok. They contact me the next morning and tell me a diagnostic test is required... ect..... So to make a long story short, they perform tune-up, clean fuel system, replace 1 ignition coil (old schoolers - spark plug wire) and I get a bill for $475.00. Get in my car and still has the same problem that it was towed in for. I take it back and they tell me I need to drive it to blow out the carbon. I leave and the check engine light comes on. I take it back and leave it over-night. The next day they tell me that another ignition coil was bad. And that they would charge me for the coil but no labor. So I tell them to just replace the remaining 3. So I Google this ignition coil replacement on-line and the guy takes cover off and remove all 4 ignition coils in less than 5 minutes. I go to pick up my vehicle and the bill is $310.00, $88.00 for labor. I asked the guy, how long does it take to snap an ignition coil on. He removed the labor charge. So, I paid almost $700.00 for work that my normal mechanic would have charge less than $300. Lesson Learned - Tested and not True - Avoid this place at all costs. At the top of their receipts it states One Time, On Time, Courteous, Honest Repairs - 1 out of 4 is not bad. They are courteous as the rip you off. If my car broke down in their parking lot, I would call AAA and have them take it somewhere else. read more

broke down on hwy, had to tow in to Ballantyne, AAA they stayed late fixed car, very reasonable prices
