His first lesson was with Natalie. She was great. He was very nervous and she helped ease his nerves. After the lesson, she had wrote down the areas he needed to focus on. She went over it with both my son and me. He also got a checklist to prepare for the driving test. His next two lessons were with Steve, who was very professional and got him on the freeway and helped him with preparing for the exam including backing up. A few months later, we got two more lessons (4 hours). Erin again was a great help in helping schedule. He had another lesson with Steve. He also had another instructor Katie, also professional and helped him with parking and other areas he requested more practice with. My son passed his driving exam today on the first try. The foundations provided to him definitely helped. I've recommended A-Z to other parents looking for lessons.

I never felt judged or embarrassed to be learning as an adult. I ended up doing three regular lessons and a DMV test practice lesson to get comfortable around the Santa Clara DMV where I later took my driver's test. And then, I passed on my first try! I once thought I would never be able to drive comfortably with all my anxieties, so I am forever grateful to Carrie for providing the encouragement and guidance I desperately needed. Now, thanks to her, I look forward to driving. She really was more than just an instructor; she was real and so personable from the very first lesson. The two hours always felt so short because I was so comfortable with her, when before I used to dread driving. Truly, if you want someone who will guide/teach you effectively and crack jokes with you too, Carrie's got you. Again, I could not see myself passing this test on the first try without all the support Carrie and the Bay Area Driving Academy have provided me. (8/31/26)

He is probably the best instructor in the Bay Area, and he will get you confidently driving in no time! I did 9 lessons with Alan over a period of 1 month, and he took me from being not very confident (after trying out three lessons a different instructor) to passing my test and driving well on the freeway! This was done with zero practice in between lessons. Alan is extremely professional, is always on time, and delivers same day feedback. He also tailors his teaching style to the student's learning style, and is keen on understanding his students' thought process if mistakes are made, so they can be properly fixed. For every single weakness I had in my driving, Alan had a strategy to fix it - this included fixing my turning speed, correctly using my mirrors, lane positioning and keeping the wheel straight. He is adept at observing to see exactly what the student is doing wrong and coming up with a formula to correct it. Additionally, he is extremely professional. He was always punctual and polite, never raised his voice and never did anything that diminished my confidence in any way as a student who was initially struggling. I have always had some anxiety about driving, but I actually looked forward to my lessons because I started to enjoy driving as I could feel myself improving. On the day of the lesson, he made sure that I was confident and encouraged me not to feel anxious, and I was happy to pass on my first try. Scheduling is also easy on the website, and the response rate is fast. If you need to learn how to drive, you can't go wrong with Alan at Perfect Score!

I highly recommend Micaela to anyone looking for a driving instructor!…read more When I started taking lessons with her, I was basically returning to driving after a 20-year break -- and on top of that, I had to learn how to drive confidently and safely in the U.S. Micaela made the whole process so much easier than I expected. She is incredibly patient, calm, supportive, and very easy to feel comfortable with. She explained things in a way that finally made sense to me and taught me skills that other instructors had not been able to teach me. Parallel parking is a perfect example -- Micaela showed me a simple technique, and in a surprisingly short time, I was able to do it confidently on my own. Another huge advantage is that Micaela speaks Russian in addition to English and Spanish. For Russian-speaking students who are new to driving in the U.S., this can be especially helpful. It didn't take us long to get me comfortable behind the wheel and prepared for driving in America after such a long break. I'm truly grateful to Micaela for her patience, encouragement, and professionalism. If you're nervous about driving, haven't driven in years, or are new to the U.S., I would absolutely recommend taking lessons with Micaela. She is a wonderful instructor!
