If you have an issue with your garage door and waste time dealing with someone else, your are a fool. This person is one of the most professional individuals I have dealt with in a long time and I was more than impressed by how his truck was setup with everything he could ever need to fix a door. Over the phone, he qualified my needs and gave me a quote that was spot on to replace two roller springs on my double door. (the other quote I received from Emily's List would have been a low ball, was not qualified and knowing what I now know, they would have put me in a position of being up sold by the repair person they were going to send out). I went on Emily's late yesterday afternoon (Sunday), he was the second call I received and he was prepared to come Sunday evening, I said Monday morning was fine and he was at our house exactly at the appointed time. After he replaced the door springs on the double door I had him look at a single door that has not been used in years. He got that opener up and running in short order and helped me replace a broken window pane in the door. It had been cracked for years because previous repair personnel wanted to disassemble the door, he quickly took the broken pane molding off, I went to the nearest glass door for new glass and he stopped by later in the day to snap in the molding for the glass. As I previously said, do not waste you time looking for someone else because I assure you they will not compare to Alex on any level. read more

We had a a bracket get bent and cause the roller to pop off on one side of the garage. This happened on a late Saturday afternoon and when I called, Alex told me they would be there within 30-45 mins (they arrived in exactly 30 mins), and assured me that they would assess the damage and give me a quote and if the quote was too much, they would just leave, no charge. When Alex and his wife, Connie, arrived, they were super friendly. They looked at the damage, had it fixed within 15-20 mins and weren't even going to charge me. I gave them some money anyway because I could tell after talking with them that they were genuinely nice, hard-working people who took time out of their beautiful Saturday afternoon to help us out of the kindness of their own hearts. Within a few minutes of speaking with Alex when he arrived (on time, as scheduled, might I add) to do our initial quote, my intuition told me Alex was one of the good, and I wasn't wrong. The whole process was seamless. Alex and his family did a great job on the installation, going above the call of duty to tear out some shelving the previous owner had built above the garage door which interfered with the proper operation of our new system. Holy crap... talk about amazing customer service... the garage door at the rental I'm living at was blowing past the upper limit switch on my Genie Intellicode opener. Did some research, and found it was a super easy fix, but wasn't able to find the part close by. I went out on a whim and called AA Garage Door to see if they dealt with selling replacement parts to the public. I spoke to Alex and he told me that they don't sell parts, but to let him know my address and he would drop one off at my apartment that he took off an old opener... We requested quotes on yelp and received a response from Alex in a very short time (a few hours at most - on a Sunday!) Despite the intense NFL playoffs, Alex was at our home within the an hour of confirming an assessment. He was brief, thorough, respectful, classy, and honest. He showed up with his son, Alex Jr. (the other half of "AA Garage Doors") and they were both super pleasant to speak to and very thorough and professional. Had a beautiful and quiet new door by Monday evening - despite the heavy rains and presumably horrendous highway driving conditions. They made it happen. Also, ignored the yelp one star review saying they didn't show up. We discovered it as we discussed the marketing practices of yelp. He turned down the opportunity to pay for yelp advertising Saturday, and by Sunday a mysterious one star review showed up stating that he failed to show up for an appointment. Based on what I received, I'd say confidently this is nonsense. I've heard yelp behaves poorly from my most recent window cleaner, and my sis in law who runs a body painting business - they refuse to pay for ads and they get punished by yelp/google trolls. I called Alex for a repair two years ago, which was an adjustment he did for free. I asked how much to replace the motor and drive. We talked about the level of quality that I'd want, and he gave a price. Six months later, when I broke the drive and motor properly, he offered to come out late that day, but it wasn't an emergency, so he came out the next day. He gave me the motor that I wanted, not too expensive and not too cheap. And at the price he'd quoted before. I wrote a message to AA on their website around 4:45 PM on a Sunday night thinking I might hear back from them Monday, if I was lucky. Instead, I received a message back from Alex, the owner, at 4:59 PM and he was in front of my house in Santa Barbara at 5:45 PM, less than an hour later.
