They started sooner than the others I had contacted but these folks are very rigid. They charged me more than $800 to basically put a 13 ft x 0.5 ft sheet rock on the wall, and I had to buy the baseboard myself. They refused to paint a spot that is 8 inches above the sheet rock and told my wife it's outside of their scope! The Technician they sent me was a nice guy but he had to go by the book. The manager in charge is very rude. She got upset when I asked her why she collected money before finishing the job. She then agreed to send her technician back a week later to finish the job. Overall, they charge a lot and are very difficult people to deal with. The last thing in these people's mind is customer satisfaction!

But when the fire inspectors actually asked us to put in couple of more sprinklers, he charged us 20% of the cost of the original invoice to add 2 extra sprinklers, So my advice with them is make sure you get it in writing as to how much they will charge for additional sprinklers. Both the owners were extremely rude and threatened that they will make it hard for us if they wanted (I am assuming it is because they are buddies with the fire department). Also, they took advantage of the fact that we could not delay the project any further and had to get it done.

It was a new construction at the time. I recently called them for a repair because one of the sprinkler heads started dripping. It was a slow leak in the hallway. The repair service was excellent and the technician they sent was very nice. He came on short notice and said that he is based on the Peninsula near where I live so he was able to come same day. What a relief! He even followed up the next day to be sure that everything was still Ok. Some of the sprinkler heads from 20 years ago have been recalled (no fault of this company), so once in a blue moon one of them will spring a leak. Turn off the main water to your house if it's a major leak to protect the floors. You can't turn off the water to the sprinkler system only - you need to turn off the entire water to the house (shut-off valve should be around the side or front of your house) until someone from this company can come out.

They took on a challenging design and installation in a mountain-side community in a redwood forest with narrow roads and boulders. Part of the piping was underground, beneath roads, and part was above ground secured on concrete posts. They did a high quality job and stuck with the project through hot and cold weather, rain, supply chain problems and the tough terrain. I called Palo Alto Plumbing in a bit of a panic. We had just been quoted an astronomical $20,000…read morefee to replace kitchen pipes when all we had was a clogged kitchen drain. The other provider charged $257 in an unsuccessful attempt to clear the drain, then gave the full quote, saying there was no other way to fix the clog and they could start the work immediately. I naively assumed the work needed to be done, but wisely hit pause on starting the work. The price was too crazy. I reached out to my synogogue communication list and 3 different people recommended Palo Alto Plumbing and suggested that perhaps I was being bamboozeld. They were right. I think it was Moe who came out the next day. He assured us right away that even if the pipes needed replacing it would only cost $4K, which helped set my mind at ease. A little over an hour later he had the clog cleared for $210. I suddenly felt rich. Moe made me feel a little less dumb as he told me big plumbing companies employee commission salespeople with limited plumbing skills. These people are quite slick, appear very sincere and knowledgeable, and many folks fall for it. Moe said "we want a customer for life" and now Palo Alto Plumbing has one. In addition, he was hilarious which made a stressful situation much less stressful. It's a family owned business and he told me his son was going to be a plumber. I said, "wow! how old is your son?" I called Palo Alto plumbing explaining clearly that I had a defective Air conditioner and that the…read morecompressor outside wasn't working. I was told to pay an extra $100 since it was considered off hours despite the fact it was only 4pm. After suffering 3 nights without AC I succumbed and agreed to pay the extra fee. Technician despatched told me that a can capacitor had failed and replaced it. Next he checked the voltage on the disconnect box and it measured 205v and he then told me that my compressor needed 220v and it wouldn't work. Was forced to get an electrician and my city electrical utilities emergency despatch who confirmed that the delta Y configuration delivered 205v. Palo Alto plumbing categorically told me that my unit could only work at 220v and when I checked the condenser label, it clearly gave a range from 205-220v. After another night of agony without AC, I was forced to call another HVAC company Onzone heating who added a hard start kit for older compressors and got it working in less than 20minutes. I am disappointed that Palo Alto plumbing just collected their service fee and left me hanging and moral of the story is ensure your HVAC company can't just point fingers at power supply (when label on my compressor clearly said 208-220v) and should have an electrical technician to not leave customers dealing with multiple companies to solve one problem - get their air conditioning to work

Mike talks to you about problems only after he has worked out a couple of options for solutions, he knows what is code and what is not, he is flexible, his projects come in on budget and on time.
