Usually when I call a mechanic or locksmith the whole process takes forever and is overpriced, but Pam, the nice woman who took my call at A-1 got me estimates right away and sent Jessica to my rescue. My ignition was broken on my car so I had to walk to work and I called them while I was on break thinking they wouldn't be able to help me till I got off anyways, but they came straight away and even picked up my car key from me at work and drove to my house so my car would be fixed when I got off. Unfortunately lost the only set of keys to my mothers car (promise I'm not this irresponsible all the time) A1 locksmith (Grand Rapids) made this process FAR less painful than I had invisioned. I originally called the Honda dealership who were actually quite rude and less than helpful. The car was in a parking ramp which they couldn't tow from and they basically told me I was SOL unless I could get it to them. A1 had me text them registration and drivers license and had a key cut and ready in about an hour. And they came to ME. Whole process took less than 3 hours. Great experience at A1 Locksmith today. We bought a used Scion xB that only came with one key. Called them to set up an appointment and they made use two more "keyless" keys in under 30 minutes. I was impressed that they made a test door-only key first to verify their cut before cutting the other two keys. They then tested those keys before doing any of the programming. Both new keys worked as well as the original for about $150 less than the dealer was going to charge for two new keys of the same type. I will use them again if the need arises. We plan on telling our mechanic in Big Rapids about them since they recommended we go to the dealer. read more

I somehow lost my car keys in Kohls in Grand Rapids. Before leaving the store I realized this and searched forever knowing that I had only 1 ignition key. This was on a Friday evening. These guys are magnificent!! First, they came out on a Saturday night at 9:30 and what was to be a short, quick fix turned out to be quite a long ordeal but they stayed, fixed everything and were extremely pleasant. But it gets better...he ended up having to take off the exterior door handle and file down the key all while their radiator in their car blew. I will most certainly use them in the future for lockout service again!! I'm also going to use them to get my locks replaced in the near future. Quick transaction as well.
