We ordered a garage door from A1 Garage Door and had an install date of 5/28/2024. Installer came and there were issues with the install. The door was the incorrect color and one of the panels was an incorrect size and was causing a gap at the top of the door when it closes. The incorrect size of the door caused the door opener to not be able to be installed. Installer entered a warranty issue report. We were told someone would be out between 8 - 1 on 8/31 to get the correct color/measurements. I called at 2pm and asked for a status, I was told tech would call to provide ETA, no one called and he finally showed up at 5:30pm. They sent the same person that got the incorrect details the first time. He got the correct color and measurements (we assume) and we were told a replacement door would be ordered. We heard nothing from A1 after that date. I contacted A1 on 6/10 and was told that they were waiting on the vendor and they would follow up and contact me within 48 hours as it could take that long for a response. I received NO communication. On 6/13 (72 hours later) I contacted A1 again for an update and again told that they were waiting on the vendor and would follow up again. I was told the new panel was ordered. I explained that we were not waiting on a panel, we are waiting for an entirely new door with the corrected color and the corrected size. She stated that she can't see the full order details. No one seems to know anything about our actual order, if it was placed, when it will be received. I have received no communication from the company to keep up updated on status. I have had to make all contact only to be told that they have no answers. I want the garage door that I ordered - correct color and correct size and installed. We are currently using a garage door that causes a gap and has to be opened and closed manually read more

I have had a very negative experience with this group. I was away when our garage door failed, and they completely took advantage of a family member by charging twice retail price for their equipment. I'm talking $1,600+ for two springs and an opener. I have left a number of messages asking for either an adjustment or suitable explanation. After over a week of leaving messages no one has returned a call. I highly recommend you avoid A1 Garage Door Service unless you want to be. read more

Service was prompt and technicians were competent and professional. Pricing is VERY expensive.

First off I would say that the Technician was top notch, my issue is with scheduling and getting them out to my place with the proper replacement parts on time. I called early in the week and was told that I could have a technician out early on the morning on Saturday, since I called so early in the week. They said that it wouldn't be a problem but they have to give me a wide time span of 7am to 1pm. I also told them that I had a Wayne Dalton Garage door with a Torque Master Plus spring and if they would have the parts on their truck. I even emailed them pictures of the model number that I had. I was reasured that the Technician had all the springs and cables to make the necessary repair ASAP, and it would be his first stop on Saturday. I was waiting for him at 8am, after 11am I got board and took down the Torque Master Spring system and had it on laying on a bench. It wasn't until after 2pm that the Technician showed up and the first thing he said was that they don't work on Wayne Dalton Garage doors, and that they don't have any Torque Master Springs on their truck. It was his third stop not his first. They are told to sell the customer on their spring system and it was close to $1000 dollars. He was very appologetic and waved the $25 call in fee. Attention Home owners with Wayne Dalton Garage doors and Torque Master Springs! A1 Garage Door Service will not replace your springs but charge you an arm and leg to upgrade your system. P.S. Youtube has some very epic videos on replacing the springs for a TorqueMaster Plus system. Not sure why they have me in California, its Okemos Michigan. read more

A1 Came to the rescue. Great company. The spring broke in our garage on a very hot, humid, rainy evening with both of our vehicles stuck inside. We both needed to get out the next morning, me to watch my Grandchildren and my husband to go to work. We both tried and couldn't get the door open. We did have to paid a little extra for an after hours, emergency call but they came right out and got it repaired right away. The technician Lou was very polite and professional and did a great job. Trevor Kurkowski came and was able to adjust one garage door and give me a great quote on a new door for our barn. He was honest, professional, personable and very down to earth.
