People! Do NOT attempt to repair your own garage door. Call Kurt at UpRight Door. He is THE expert on garage doors, and your safety is his first concern. When he learned (on a Sunday) that I had my drill in hand and had tried the repair on my own, he was at my house within 20 minutes. While he did the repairs, he patiently explained that garage doors can be extremely dangerous. They have a complex and integrated system of springs and door panels and pulleys and wires and metal plates and bolts. If the repair is not done properly and in the right order, and if something goes wrong, people can lose fingers and worse. A garage door weighs upwards of 600 pounds and can be lethal. Kurt not only repaired my door and tuned every part of the mechanisms, but he also gave me a life-saving education on safety and prudence. I am very pleased with the quick response time UpRight Door was able to offer my family. Our spring was broken on our garage door and we had no way of getting are vehicals out from behind the door. This was actually a very scary situation because my mother in law (whom lives with us) is very ill and we never know when we need to hurry to the ER. After coming home to a broken garage door that would not open and COULD NOT be opened because of broken spring, my husband and I dreaded the $600 bill it might cost to get it working again. I called upright and within a few minutes returned my call. He was able to come out to the house within an hours time. He was very thorough explaining beforehand what the obvious problem was and anticipated cost to repair the spring. He also explained that the bearing may need to be replaced and the anticipated cost all less then half what we anticipated. Today is the 4th of July and my car was stuck in the garage this morning. I tried to pull the red cord the release the door from the opener, but the door still wouldn't open. We just moved to Fort Wayne and within the first couple days the coil on our garage door snapped. This happened after hours. Our overhead door was off its tracks and the cables were off of the pulleys. They had to replace latches and parts of the track. They were able to fit us in to their schedule and took a little over an hour to fix our door. From the first call to completion was little over 3 hours.
