A1's garage door on truck
Phillip G.

BUYER BEWARE**Keep on shopping. Worst service you could ever imagine. Didn't even get the new garage I purchased through them installed. Do not do business with these guys. Wish I had looked on yelp before excepting their services. . Garage door fell off tracks onto my truck. Previous homeowners used A1 garage service (A1 sticker on door & wall) so I figured I would contract same service (really bad decision not sure what I was thinking, clearly wasn't thinking) Installer Nathan disassembled garage door from my vehicle without any help (solo). In doing so he put some gnarly scratches on the hood of truck. He could have asked for help. As tough as this was I let this slide... because how am I going to prove it? There was a fallen garage door on my truck.. Ordered a garage door and put $1500 down. The installer had to come out once again to make measurements (why wasn't this done last visit?!?) The installation date for garage door was set for August 10 . Day of install I get a call informing me that they ordered the wrong spring and would need to set me up for install in a Month. Reset-up appointment for a month later. Installer comes out, dismantled my garage door and then proceeds to tell me that he has the wrong garage door (after he reassembled, broken garage door) Called the scheduler to set up another appointment. They told me they didn't have anything for another two weeks. Cool whatever, I set up another appointment two weeks later. Installer was supposed to contact me by 1 PM. I didn't get a response so I contacted the appointment center at 3 PM and they told me that they would have the installer contact me. No call at 5pm so I called back and they told me he was still on another job. At 6 PM The installer contacted me and told me he was on his way. At 7:20 pm I get a call from the headquarters they claimed the installer would not be coming out because they had the wrong spring once again.. I told them I'm done and would like a refund. Few other things to mention the installer left bolt in my driveway that dug into the treads of my tires . No big deal it did not puncture my tires (e rated tires) He also left a small amount of trash in my driveway. Save yourself from time, frustration, hassle and money . Look elsewhere.. these guys are a huge scam. So much so I'm going to reach out to the bbb as well (who really has time for this) In the end I have scratches on my hood, bolt in the tire and took off 3 days of work for "installs" (I'm hourly not salary) and still don't have the door installed. Really bad unethical business. jokes on me I suppose

Mark and Alex came through today for us! We had our spring break this morning on our 20+ year old garage automatic door. We couldn't get our car out and they showed up within an hour or two of us calling. They were fast, efficient, and got the job done right. Thank you A1!

Nathan and Alex came by and did a fantastic job.

The Up & Up Garage Doors

My remote garage door openers were no longer working with the receiver, so I've been asking my kids…read moreto manually close the door and then jump like a gazelle as they passed the garage door, so they wouldn't trip the safety cameras. Although it was cute to me, it got old really quick with my kids. I figured it was time to get a professional involved. I chose The Up and Up Garage Doors company because it was relatively close to where I live (I learned pretty quickly that some companies don't serve my area, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't served my area). The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. I also thought the price was very reasonable for having such a quality product and super awesome experience. I would 10 out 10 definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking to upgrade their garage system or just need any repairs in general.

I even upgraded to a two spring system for better durability and support, all for a great price and excellent warranty on parts and labor. He worked quickly to install the new springs, tune up my hinges, make sure the garage door opener was calibrated just right, and get my garage door back up in working order and better than ever! Would definitely use Neil again in the future!

I thought it was the opener and something getting out of sync but after some troubleshooting, it was something more serious. I had used Alliance Overhead Door in the past and they were the first call I made. The owner, Chris, took my call on a Sunday around 11am and asked me a few questions to diagnose the issue. It was likely an internal spring that had likely broken and needed replacement. I was afraid there would be an extra charge for a Sunday repair, but Chris so nope. So, I decided to move forward with getting the issue handled. Chris needed to address a current customer and then could be at my place around 1pm. As he was on his way, he texted me with an ETA, which was nice. Once at my place, he confirmed the issue and recommended at Torsion Spring Conversion. He confirmed the price, which was very reasonable, and he got right to work. Within an hour the old broken spring shaft was replaced with the new torsion spring rated for 25,000 cycles. Not only did he fix the issue, he also took the time to inspect the door and lubed the wheels and hinges before leaving. Now I am back in business with a working garage door. Whether you need a garage door repair or replacement, I would highly recommend Alliance Overhead Door. Chris Olari allianceoverheaddoor.com/ Call or Text : (512) 696-3891

Even so, never explained what repair was needed. I decided to seek help from another business, and found someone who told me exactly what needed servicing and installed the right part for minimal costs. Please do not ever use this company.

Grateful for Zach's help on my garage door project!…read more I was looking to get some light in my garage which also serves as a home gym, so started to look into contemporary aluminum + glass panel doors. Seeing the list price of some of these online ended up taking me down a bit of a rabbit hole towards Alibaba-sourced doors, but I figure I ought to reach out to a pro before I commit to that direction. Zach was quick to respond and helped me understand why this was a terrible idea. I wasn't prepared to spend an arm and a leg, but he was able to hook me up with beautiful Clopay door installed at a really competitive price. There were some delays getting the door from the manufacturer but I appreciate Zach insulated me from all of that (apparently they delivered the wrong one at first haha). He showed up right on time on the day we agreed for the install and before I knew it the door was in. Super excited about it, and the curb appeal difference goes a long way too. Zach is a very personable guy and you can tell he genuinely cares about delivering for customers. Would happily work with him again but I suspect I won't have to - this door is built like a tank and the install appears to be high-quality all around.
