DO NOT RECOMMEND. Set up late night pick up. Got told it would be extra. Accepted the charge. Flight got delayed and so informed driver. Driver then demands more compensation. And kept trying to make me agree to more money. If this is 24 hour service. Why is this a problem? Person is also very rude on the phone saying how it's late and he needs more compensation, even though it was already agreed we'd pay the late pick up fee. Why have 24/7 service if you're not willing to pick up late. Guy talked about how services are slow now because people aren't flying in as much. Yet can't pick up people late. So complaining about lack of customers. Yet just lost a $200+ pick up because it was a little later than he wanted to stay up. Actually would have tipped more because of the delay, but being told I should tip way more for his trouble. 24/7 shouldn't have any trouble. read more

This service is a joke. I used this service from SFO to my home and this guy named Happy, quoted me a price and he ended up forcing me to double my tip. The service was not that great. If there was an option for zero stars, that would be my choice. I have never opted for a shuttle, but traveling alone and at night, in a city I was not familiar with, I thought it would be safer and seamless to arrange a shuttle. Boy was I WAYYY wrong! The driver was an hour early picking me up at the Oakland airport. That is the same time I found out my plane was delayed by 2.5 hours. I called the shuttle company and advised them of my delay, only to have the driver call me back a few minutes later and yell at me for costing him money. When I arrived in Oakland, an hour prior to the time I told the driver (just to be safe) he was already blowing up my phone and yelling. We don't even want to talk about the horrifying 35minutes I spent in the shuttle wondering if I was going to make it or not. At the hotel when I was exiting the van and asking for my bag, the driver insisted that I had not paid and locked the doors refusing to let me out. This took another 2 or 3 min before I was convincing enough that he allowed me to exit the van but not with my belongings. Approx. 10 min of trying to explain to this man that I had my credit card authorization and was paid in full, he allowed me my belongings. I asked for a receipt and he said, "we don't give them when you do not pay in person". A few other words were said on his part but I did not understand them. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST read more

THE WORST!!!! I just called and tried to book a shuttle, asked for the price before starting all the details, the guy at the phone got annoyed and asked for the information first. I completed all the information and he told me it was $99. I said, OK thanks let me re-confirm with my husband and call you back to reconfirm the service. We had high hopes as the driver showed up early to deliver us to SFO and all went very nicely on the outbound trip. For the return trip back home we were given instructions to call when our bags arrived and the driver would be at the cell phone lot and would check with the airline for our arrival time and when they got the call they would arrive in two minutes, which we did. We were to wait at door 4. We waited over 30 minutes when someone came walking into the terminal to find us. We then had to walk through the terminal then took an elevator downstairs where the van was. The driver did not help any of the six of us with any of our bags. We finally got loaded in the van and the driver started driving around the exterior of the airport and pulled in to a gas station to fill up with gas. Her didn't say a word until he pulled in about needing gas and took his time getting in and out of the vehicle. He wasn't the best driver and had the front windows open the entire time making it quite windy in the back going across the San Mateo bridge on this windy day. The van is dirty, noisy and seems rather rickety. All this after an eleven hour flight did not set well with us. We won't be using this service again. read more

Have not actually used A-1, but that is because the operator yelled at me while I was trying to book a shuttle to the airport. Called to get a van for myself and 7 others to SFO. The price was good so I said thank you and that I had to speak to several other places and that I would call him back. After calling a few other places it occurred to me that I could get a discount if I booked the shuttle round trip rather than one way. I called back and was screamed at, the operator repeating himself over and over, I give you very good price. At that point I hung up. A-1 missed out on $300 plus dollars of my business, because the sales person on the phone couldn't handle a questions, pretty sure that's his job. read more

We needed a shuttle from Fremont to Oakland for the July 4th weekend. I made reservations with A-1 shuttle 3 days prior. They said they would pick us up at 3pm for my 5pm flight. I call at 3:10 pm and the driver says he is stuck in traffic. 1. They are professional drivers, it is their job to check traffic and perhaps arrive before the pick up time. 2. Why am I calling them to find out where they are? 3. The driver calls me at 3:40pm to find out where we are. I'll tell you where we were.... in our own car hauling arse to get to Oakland. It turns out that they did us a favor. Long term parking in Oakland is real close to the terminals and only cost $22/ day. The shuttle was going to cost us $79 each way. We saved money but added the unnecessary stress of parking. Use someone else. Save yourself! read more

The driver is lazy and would not load up any of our luggage's. WTF? I should have just rented a UHAUL van, probably been cheaper and drove it myself. AVOID AT ALL COSTS I booked a shuttle trip from SFO to Livermore for myself and two of my colleagues. The dispatcher had a very difficult time understanding me (He clearly did not speak English as a first language), but I thought nothing of it. The dispatcher (I assumed) booked us in a van trip from SFO to Livermore and quoted me $79. Fast forward to our trip. The driver picked us up (not actually--we had to walk to him). He asked our destination, and I gave him the hotel we were staying at in Livermore. He looked very confused and asked me to repeat. Turns out the dispatcher had booked us on a trip to Palo Alto instead of Livermore (How do you even confuse the two??) About 10 minutes down the road, the driver piped up and told us that since we were going to Livermore and not Palo Alto, we would need to pay $99 instead of the $79 we were originally quoted. I politely replied that since the mistake was the fault of his company and not me, and that my employer had only authorized to spend $79 on the trip (which was true--I was to be reimbursed) we would only pay the $79. The driver tried to argue, but we eventually agreed to hold the discussion until we reached our destination. After he dropped us off, the driver repeatedly begged me to pay him $99. I politely replied that again, I was only authorized to spend $79. I handed him $90 (thinking I would just take the $11 hit and be over it) but he began cursing at me and calling me names I can't repeat here (very professional). I removed $11 from the stack and handed him the remaining $79. Good riddance. He flat out refused to give me a receipt (which I desperately needed for reimbursement from my employer) and cursed at me all the way into the hotel. Bottom line, you can get much better service for the price from other companies in the area. Even taking BART would have been preferable to the nightmare I went through. read more

I've used their service a lot of times and I've always had an excellent experience. Also, Carol is great with her amazing customer service skills! One of your shuttle bus drivers (787) made an UNSAFE lane change into my lane and when I honked, he flipped me off, brake checked me (VERY UNSAFE) and was cursing me. You would think that people who drive for a shuttle service would be more courteous and respectful drivers not drivers who obviously suffer from road rage and commit unsafe driving maneuvers that can cause accidents. We booked our car for an early pick up then re-confirmed the day before. Unfortunately, during the actual day for pick up, we receive a call from the driver stating that she would be at least 10 min late. This was early in the morning so she can't even blame it on traffic... Unacceptable. I used A1 American shuttle twice last year for my trip to India. They picked me up on time from Fremont and dropped in SFO. I also asked them to pick me up in SFO on my return from India. I was skeptical that they will not be on time and may even forget to pick me up but i was wrong. They were already waiting for me in the Airport and dropped me in Fremont. DON'T DO IT!!! My worst experience ever! I called a day before for a pick up at my home. They called to confirm twice but they NEVER SHOWED UP TO PICK ME UP! I called several times and NO ONE answered the phone. I then drove myself to the airport. I missed my flight and the rest of the day was a nightmare. These guys drive while texting and using there phones. We live 5 minutes from the airport and they had problems getting two vehicles to the airport and took separate routes. They are also very rude when they called us for pickup at the airport. I will never use them again. read more

They almost killed me. Do not take this shuttle under any conditions. The driver went the wrong way down a one way road twice and almost killed me in a head on collision with another car after trying to drop me off at the wrong location. I had to yell at him for ten minutes to let me out of the van before he would do so. Then the company called and yelled at me twice (once after 10 PM) to say it was my fault for not providing him with directions (in a city I have never visited) - even though I tried to give him my destination address three or four times. Only take if you are willing to put your life on the line. Additionally, the company is so underhanded that they are now searching for my negative reviews and lying in a sad attempt to discredit me. They accuse me of refusing to supply my driver with my address, which totally makes sense (I showed it to him on my iPhone several times, and he typed in a completely different address. He didn't speak English). Also apparently large vehicles prevent you from ever getting into an accident. Unless you want to deal with a major headache and possible injury, do not ever take their business. Since my experience, three other people have reported them to the Better Business Bureau for "Service Issues," and they now have a B- rating. read more

Shady, shady, shady! Do NOT even CONSIDER using this organization. Not that they'd show up if you actually made a reservation with them. I made a reservation via phone AND email last week, as I became aware that my flight would be arriving into SFO late and I would have extra baggage. The gentleman (word used loosely) that I spoke to did not leave me with the highest level of confidence, but I was traveling and just wanted to book and get off the phone. I unfortunately did not have access to my computer to look at these reviews.....every review gives them one-star (and likely only that because there's nothing LESS than one!). A clear reflection of complete incompetence! When I arrived at SFO after a long flight, there was no one from A-1 awaiting my arrival as I was told there would be. I called the number I had used to make my reservation earlier in the day, but was sent straight to voice-mail....on which, I left a message stating I had arrived and was waiting curb-side. 10 minutes later, still no driver. I hit re-dial again to contact the company. This time a woman speaking atrocious English picked up the phone. Long story short, she called me a liar and claimed I had never called their company to make a reservation. According to her, the gentleman I spoke to earlier was actually on his day off, so there was no way I had made an appointment with him...WTH??? Also, that I must have made a reservation with another company because there was no one from her company at the airport. WTH? The logic escapes me even now. I explained to her that I had indeed made a reservation, that the call I was making at that very moment was made by hitting 're-dial' from my earlier call, and that it was concerning that, 1) I was without a ride when promised, and 2) that the guy had made a point of taking my credit card information that morning. Three times she called me a liar and was nothing less than rude and disgusting. I haven't the slightest idea why the hell I even stayed on the line with this crazy frick-a-doodle! Pure craziness in dealing with these people. These people were disrespectful, gross, rude, and just plain icky. Take the advice of EVERY SINGLE PERSON that has written a review here....RUN! Do NOT use this horrid excuse for a 'company'! I grabbed a taxi curb-side and was home in 1/2 hour. The price was $40 less than the crazy-clan had quoted me. read more
