All three are, similarly, very tiny bars, basically just alcoves, no seating, large enough to fit a couple people standing inside if it's raining, which it was. Not a spot people stick around a long time at, which is reasonable, since all they sell are shots of ginja, and to-go bottles of ginja. They don't sell it in shotglasses, unlike the other two - but they do give you a cherry if you want, also unlike the other two. Personal verdict, it's definitely better than do Carmo... between here and Sem Rival is really up to the individual, both are great. It's boozy but also definitely full of fruit and spices, and just sweet enough but not sickly. Good ginja is great, it's wacky nobody's tried marketing it in the US. Wish I could've taken home a full bottle of each (I'd already earmarked almost a whole suitcase for Port wine, obviously.)

Each shot was 1.55 euros and they only accept cash. You can even purchase full size bottles too. The ginja was poured from one of their built in barrels into a large bottle which had plenty of cherries in it. From there, you can ask for a shot with or without cherries. I opted for cherries in mine because I just had to try it. It definitely packs a punch but is sweet and slightly syrupy. The cherries were potent too. Would definitely return!

We had stopped by this location a few days before and Sophia warmly introduced herself and made us feel welcome. We had such a positive interaction with Sophia that we came back to see Sophia and taste some wines and fortified wines. Sophia was extremely knowledgeable and curated a delightful wine tasting experience for us both. We were extremely impressed by her extensive historical knowledge of Portuguese wine and wine makers. Her professionalism and expertise allowed us to experience and taste some of the best wines this country has to offer. We even ended up purchasing our new favorite Vintage port made by Vallado.

Based on my experience, the acores gin was about one and a half times more than I've been able to find elsewhere, but still better than running around town at the last minute to find quality items. Not a spot people stick around a long time at, which is reasonable, since all they sell are cheap shots of ginja, and to-go bottles of ginja. Well, in this case, uniquely, they also sell a second, more complex liqueur called Eduardino, one reason I'd give the crown to this stop over A Ginjinha around the block, though I also think I liked the ginja here a *hair* more than A Ginjinha. Both great, though. (You can skip Ginginha do Carmo. :p) The ginja, like their most direct competitor's, is quite fruity, and sweet, but not overly so. The one here is also *particularly* smooth. Their second product, Eduardino, apparently invented here in 1908 (I just looked it up) is an anise-infused ginja that doesn't taste anything like ginja, but does taste like a great, complex, sweet anise liqueur, that I imagine would be *wonderful* in cocktails that call for absinthe as a modifier, or probably also as a swap for Benedictine or any of those more famous sweet/herbal liqueurs, if you're a cocktail nerd like me. Though here, obviously, they just sell it neat or in bottles. It is also pretty tasty served neat. I wish I'd had room to bring back a full 750 bottle of each, instead of just a 200 ml bottle (I had most of a suitcase already earmarked for Port wine), but I was glad they *sold* 200 ml bottles!

It's the same set up as the other spot - it's a small stall, the line moves fast, and it's cash only. One of the differences is that there were small standing tables outside so you could hangout for a bit if you wanted to. The other difference is the taste of the ginja - I found their version to be less sweet and more smooth than the other, older stall across the street. I preferred Sem Rival's version a bit more actually! At the same exact price (1.55 euros) and in the same area, you might as well try both and come to your own conclusion.

Our second stop on the Lisbon food tour. Next was Pastéis de bacalhau or codfish cakes which were the best that we had in Lisbon. And finally Peixinhos da horta, or fish of the garden. Which turns out to be tempura fried green beans. They were also very good. If you are a tourist, the staff will gladly help you fill out the tax refund form. However, the catch is that you have to bring your luggage to a specific counter at the airport, before you check your luggage, so that you can open the bag and let the officials verify that you are indeed taking the bottles out of the country. They will then stamp the form and you can collect your money after going through immigration. Sadly we didn't know how to navigate the system, and our luggage were too full anyway I didn't entertain the idea of having to shove things in one more time.

We 've never really recognised this region and it was like an awakening! After he realised that we're quite interestend in his suggestion and followed them - he gave us a good price deduction... However, we eventually grew tired of this and wanted to enjoy a cocktail or two with the locals. After doing some shopping, we stumbled upon The Bar. Unlike some of the other bars, The Bar does not have outdoor seating. Therefore, you have to keep your eyes peeled for the entrance. Upon entering the dimly lit intimate bar, we were warmly greeted by a bartender named Joao. We took in the romantic ambiance (they have a Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh collector's book!) as we found seating on one of their cozy + comfy couches. My wife ordered the Porn Star Martini (you gotta love an establishment that has a little fun with the name of their drinks) and I ordered the Long Island Iced Tea (this used to be my go-to back in my clubbing days). I knew the drinks would be delicious when I saw Joao carefully crafting the drinks as if he was bathing a newborn. Six minutes later we were sipping on our delectable drinks. In fact, the drinks were so delectable that we slowly sipped them to not finish them too quickly. We made repeated visits to The Bar during our stay in Lisbon, specifically for their Happy Hour that takes place from 5pm to 8pm. With the exception of the signature cocktails, all cocktails are $7 during Happy Hour. If you're looking to consume an adult beverage in a comfortable, cozy, and non-touristy environment...I highly recommend The Bar!

This server was very kind and brought us our drink that we drank rather fast so that he could get home as soon as possible.
