We heard about Tim via word-of-mouth from a family friend and hoped like many of the reviews state…read morehere, we would end up with a beautiful paint job. In reality, the entire job needs to be done again. But because I didn't want to get into a major confrontation or litigation after relocating from the East Coast, we've chalked this up to a very bad learning experience.
For context, our house was built in 1979 and is roughly 1,400 sqft with no unusual architectural features. We originally asked Tim to paint all of our walls (bathrooms, closets, etc) and selected only three colors. The price was reasonable - roughly $3,500. Because we did renovation ahead of painting, which included installing new baseboards lower than the originals, and created construction dust, we needed extra drywall work and decided to include the ceilings. New price: $7,200. We were short on time, and we agreed to have the work done. All quotes were provided in a simple email and lacked critical detail, which was a mistake on my part. Given the cost, I assumed that "Repair the damaged drywall along the walls to paint" (direct quote from the bid), would mean there would be some prep work completed.
Unfortunately, the result was subpar. The painters were there for roughly five days. When my wife and I went to inspect, there were so many imperfections on the walls (poor texture, drip marks throughout every room, paint on our ceiling fans, countertops, balcony and mirrors), we told Tim he would need to fix several of the major items. He completed a handful of corrections, but not without being indignant. He simply refused to do others. When I showed him clear drip marks caused by his crew, he simply said, "That is just new paint over old." I even scratched the drip with my finger nail to show him that he was wrong and he had the audacity to tell me, "We'll need to agree to disagree."
Needless to say, basic prep work was never performed, and the overall job was simply sloppy. The work was completed around Aug 5th 2018, and we already have chipping paint throughout the house. There are some spots in the bathroom where you can clearly see through to the old paint. This was a job done exactly the wrong way, and at considerable expense. My recommendation is to find another company.
