I am going to start with the positives- I requested a quote and the company replied quickly... they were in line with other company prices so I booked them right away. When I called to reschedule, the woman, I believe her name was Sheri, totally accommodated me.
On the day of the move, I received a phone call that the movers would be 45 minutes to an hour late. They had to make 2 trips on the last move instead of one. It was not initially a problem for me, however after waiting 2 hours, I began to have my doubts. I called and spoke with Crystal or Sheri and expressed my concern. My bedroom furniture is quite heavy and it was getting dark. Not only that, but it was beginning to rain. I asked if the move should be rescheduled because I didn't want the movers too tired to handle my heavy stuff. I was told this was what they do, not to worry, and they were on their way.
When they arrived, I immediately put on my mask. Both movers did as well, but informed me that when they began moving, they would not be wearing their masks. This concerned me some but I let it go. This was the start to a miserable experience. I started removing the drawers from a dresser and was told it was not a grand piano so it wasn't necessary. Next, one mover slipped and fell on the staircase while moving a night stand. I was extremely concerned at this point. After he tried to assure me he slipped because of the tread on his shoes, I smelled the alcohol on his breath. The same mover loaded up the dresser onto a dolly, and put a hole in the wall. Instead of continuing the move, he stopped and called to give a report of the damage. I said he needed to slow down, be more careful and then he began running up and down the stairs. This was bizarre behavior. I noticed fresh scratches in the floor and pointed them out. He called his manager again. This time he informed me that they were going to unload the truck and I could hire someone else because I was being nit- picky.
Eventually, the company sent out another guy to replace the intoxicated mover... the new man seemed genuinely concerned, though abandoned the drunk mover to find his own way home from my house.
This part of the move went pretty well except they left a part of my bed outside at the old place. They offered to go back and get it, which I greatly appreciated.
When unloading. there was damage to a desk I just bought in September for $263.00, not to mention the damage to the house and having to deal with the man who came drunk to my home. The woman manager, Sheri, did not seem sympathetic at all and still wanted me to pay. Only after I reiterated the series of events did she offer to negotiate.
I would definitely not use or recommend this company again. read more
