Short Summary: We can confidently recommend CLC Landscape…read moredesign for your landscape project - big or small. They take pride and ownership of their work, and they continue to provide support well after the project is finished. Full Details: In our neighborhood, there's no shortage of landscape design companies with their trucks advertising in front of all the different houses. After seeing some of the amazing photos of CLC's work in magazines and social media and reading about their family owned and operated company, we reached out and met with CLC and instantly connected right away. They seemed much more attentive than other companies we contacted, listened to our ideas, gave great advice, and their vision aligned with ours. Our project included removing some trees, re-grading our yard, adding a small round blue stone patio/firepit, plantings and new sod. While our project may have been a smaller one, we were still treated the same and given the same attention and detail as a much larger project. The design phase of the project was invaluable as the created renderings really helped us envision what the end goal would look like. Next, when it was time to break ground, our initial project manager Alex went above and beyond, even taking time out on a Saturday to go stone shopping with us. When Alex had to attend to a family emergency, CLC quickly adjusted and sent us the dynamic duo of Gary and Pat who immediately stepped in, took ownership of the project, and made sure everything continued to run smoothly. Gary, in particular, was in constant communication with us, keeping us updated on project details and assuring us that everything would stay on track. He's a Zen master - when he says don't worry, we're going to fix this/do this instead/I have a better idea, you just feel confident about the end result. Our foreman, Enrique, also deserves an honorable mention as someone incredibly detail-oriented, who always wanted to do things the right way, no shortcuts. He treated our yard as if it was his own, constantly trying to make everything perfect. We appreciated even the little things he did - like staging plants/trees in the shade to protect them from the hot sun or even coming in on a weekend to water those plants. Everything he did demonstrated the attention, care, and pride in his work. Things would look good to us but not to Enrique's sharp eye, and he'd smile and go over it one more time just to be certain. Was our project 100% completely smooth? Of course not, no project is, but Pat/Gary/Enrique/Alex and the rest of the CLC team always adjusted, tackled issues, gave us advice, and figured out the best way to solve whatever problem was at hand, which left us feeling at ease. And, in the end, after the work was finished, everything was cleaned up, no debris left behind, Gary continued checking up on us, weeks later, to ensure our sod is growing properly. And now we can sit back and enjoy a beautiful backyard that we know was done the right way and will provide us with joy for many years to come.

I told Ken what I wanted and he said he could turn our property into the envy of the neighborhood. I was skeptical at first. I needed flowers and shrubs. The side and rear of the house were just ugly dirt and gravel. I wanted a side patio of pavers and rear walkway to cover up the dirt and gravel on the sides of the house. A walkway from the rear walkway to the rear deck. There was a shed with a cement walkway that had to be removed. This was no small task. They tore down the shed and cement walkway and cleared out and leveled out the rear yard. They had to remove over 20 yards of dirt and rocks. They had to move a small tree from the middle of the yard to the corner. They planted new flowers and shrubs with existing ones put down new sod . Then install all the hardscape. It was quite a task. When it finally was finished I couldn't believe it was the same property. Now when buyers come to see the house the first thing they look at is the beautiful new yard. Ken and his crew at Artistic Bamboo did an incredible job. I would highly recommend them for all your needs. Thanks Ken

Miracle workers!! I…read morecannot recommend Backyard Bros enough! They are professional, responsive, efficient, and meticulous. Overall just masters of their craft! My husband and I bought a 125 year old fixer-upper 2 years ago with a small and severely neglected backyard. The before pictures don't show truly how horrifying it was. The yard was uneven, completely overgrown with weeds, broken and mismatched pavers; there was a 4-foot drop-off 6-feet from the back fence with a collapsing retaining wall that only went partially across the property. The drainage on the house was not properly routed which caused water damage in the basement and must have damaged the yard because the previous owners put down a 7x10 foot turf rug in its place. Visually, the yard was an embarrassment. The backyard neighbors even planted pine trees to block their view of our yard before we bought it. More importantly, it was incredibly unsafe. I nearly twisted my ankle just walking out there when we were first looking at the house. I wouldn't even let our dogs go out there, let alone our children. When Jose came for our consultation, he completely understood our vision for the space and talked us through exactly how he would make that a reality. The team just finished the job yesterday and it is even better than we imagined! Our yard is now a beautifully manicured oasis. They did such an incredible job that it looks like it was always well cared for. Looking at the final product, you would never know how much work they put in; truly a flawless job! The team built a beautiful and sturdy retaining wall, backfilled the drop-off, leveled and graded the yard, reinforced the posts and put the fence back up, installed a proper drainage system that routes away from the house, removed several metal chain-link fence posts, laid sod and designed a gorgeous Cambridge paving stone patio. We could not be more thrilled with the job they did. We will eventually updated the front yard and redo the driveway and we greatly look forward to working with Backyard Bros again. Thank you guys for everything!

My 700th review!…read more I've always noticed this garden center near the exit of the Holland Tunnel. When I was hunting for garden centers in the area, this came up with great reviews and I decided to check it out. It was definitely better than expected. They had a really nice selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. I came looking specifically for hydrangeas, and they probably had 10 to 15 varieties available - some needing full sun and some needing partial. The gentleman that was working there was very friendly. I wanted two plants that looked similar to sit side-by-side by my front door. He helped me choose the variety, and two plants that looked the most similar. We ended up deciding on the candy apple variety by Monrovia. It needs full sun and should bloom through summer with blooms that will last till October. Once I paid, they carried the plants out to the car for me, laid plastic in my car and packed everything for me. I thought this was really a nice service. This is definitely more expensive than Home Depot, but they carry much nicer product with wider variety and better service. Especially if you're just looking for a couple plants, I would definitely come here instead. I asked about some fall perennial plants, and he recommended I come back after Halloween to check out what they'll have in season for winter. I will definitely be back.
