The NonProfit Center - State-of-the-art Conference Center

The NonProfit Center

Leather District, Waterfront, South Boston

I love the Nonprofit Center!…read more It's T accessible - right near south station. In addition to being the office of over 40 nonprofits, it also has meeting space available for other nonprofits to use (you do not have to be a tenant). I've been to meeting here sponsored by Tech Networks of Boston, Women in Development (fundraising), The Communications Network, Public Relations Society of America, and Third Sector New England. The event space is great, but my one warning is to triple check the microphones with the nonprofit center events staff if you have speakers. About half the times I've been to events there, audio problems occurred, so I always sit in the front to be sure I can hear. I'm jealous of the employees of the nonprofits in this building! What a lovely place to work!

I researched every venue I could find, over 55 in total. We couldn't afford to spend thousands of dollars, and time was running out - as were my options. Then I came across The NonProfit Center - after my initial inquiry I was contacted by Faisal and literally everything was smooth sailing from there! I took a look at the space and it was perfect, they were available the date I needed, and the price was right. Faisal answered all of my (many) questions and kept in touch to make sure there was nothing else I needed. Next time I will save myself the run-around and go here first - can't say enough good things, we had a wonderful experience!

More Than Words - Nicely laid out adds to shopping experience.

I'm hard to fit but still found a gem and also found a perfect JCrew shirt for my husband. The place is beautifully organized and pricing - except for the highest end items- is uniform and easily displayed and very reasonable. I highly recommend this hidden gem!

The young people help run the store, learn job skills, and work toward personal and career goals--and it truly shows in the care and pride behind the space. The shop itself is small but mighty. I walked out with four excellent-condition used books (three of which had already been on my TBR list) and somehow also added two cookbooks because... no regrets. Everything was very affordable, and it felt good knowing my purchase was directly supporting youth in the local community. If you're near one of their locations (I believe there's another in the Boston area), I highly recommend stopping in or checking out their online storefront. Great books, great prices, and an even greater mission--absolutely worth supporting.

I've met the most inspiring group of women through this organization, and I've developed professionally, personally and spiritually because of the League. I was previously a member of the Junior League of Greenwich, CT and upon relocation to Boston I transferred membership to the JLB; the Boston-based League has a fantastic transfer committee who welcomes new members with open arms. All of the women I've met so far have been kind, open-minded and genuinely passionate about the mission of the Junior League to meaningfully contribute to the Boston community. I would recommend the Junior League to anyone new to Boston who wants to engage in the community and give back through involvement with an organized, effective and well-functioning nonprofit organization.

JL Boston's vision is that every girl in Boston has the skills and confidence to thrive at life. Programs include Leader Within, a signature JL Boston program, JL Boston Amigas, JL Boston Arts, STEM and more. The JL Boston HQ is a newly renovated collaborative space that can be rented by other non-profits and is fully equipped with wi-fi, whiteboards and TV screens to screen share from your computer. I can be kicked out anytime. I have no rights because the room is illegal. I've been on the housing waitlist for 12 years and when I call to ask where I am on the list I'm told they can't give out that information. I'm told to be patient. They do not help anyone born in the United States but they seem to help illegal immigrants. I know 6 border jumpers that are not citizens but received housing assistance within 6 months. An attorney told me I cannot sue them. I feel I should be able to sue Quincy Community Action, HUD and all the other housing authorities for discrimination. This basement room is literally killing me. I'm old so that adds to my health issues but before staying here I was not sick all that often.
