My experience with John Luedke: John Remodeling and Handyman was a total waste of time and money…read more It has been over a year since he said he was going to refund the $2,250. he was paid for material/labor for a series of small jobs which he never even started. When called, he says it's the wrong number. When someone goes to his address, they are told he doesn't live there. John is not listed as State certified or having any insurance or bonding. In my case, he responded to complaints via e-mail with reasons why he didn't purchase material or do the jobs, however he never made any effort to actually do the work or refund my money. He also damaged my J channels instead of doing the small gutter modification and sealing he was paid to do. Because John's "work" was leaking 60 gal. during the first rain after HIS "repair" I had to pay a roofer to actually solve the very small problem. No one could figure out what John was attempting to do up there. They could see nothing of any benefit at all. I would have to give John Luedke a rating of ZERO. I would not trust him with a pooper scooper. 00000.

You can tell everything this is extremely high quality, and you sure will pay for it. We landed on two favorites so Sam, who was helping us, sent over quotes of each based on our project. We'll need our island covered and the entire perimeter. It's nice there are different finishing and edge options for different parts of the job. Sales professional, Brian, offered some ideas for other materials and, when he could see I was into the options, he had me hiking the whole lot with him. I was seeking out 6-8 pieces of large granite stone to finish project. Solution: Brickyard, Inc. Okay, you guys, this place is so F'ing cool!! Seriously. I went to Home Depot the other day hoping that they would have this rock (didn't know it was granite at the time) and all they had were the standard retaining wall stone which I could not have incorporated into my landscaping for aesthetic reasons. I wanted to find something similar to this existing stone. The guy helping me at The Depot told me to check out Brickyard. I am so happy I did. Upon entering, it was a little intimidating because I had never been to a brickyard before (I mean, seriously, who has?) however once we started walking through the rows and rows of bricks, I was shocked by the selection, customer service and the quality of the bricks. But I was not looking for bricks you may be saying to yourself. Correct, I will get to my project in a sec. I was not looking for bricks but what I found was this jackpot of reclaimed Cream City and Chicago Pink brick. If you appreciate Milwaukee heritage, then you appreciate a good Cream City brick building. I often times just stare at the Cream City buildings in awe because of their beauty! So, this company actually SELLS the old Cream City and Chicago Pinks from demolished buildings all over the city. O...M..G...I almost freaked out. Each brick was intricately laid out on pallets and clean of mortar. Yeah. It's insane. The guy working with us told us that they ship trainloads of bricks all over the country, they are one of the only companies that do this. He said the price is comparable to new brick maybe even cheaper in some cases. He said Mo's on Bluemound and Cafe Central were all built from the reclaimed bricks from Brickyard. People looking to replace a brick or two on their historic home/building will find this place a gem, that is for sure. And those wanting to start a new project with Milwaukee's heritage will also find it a place like no other. To finish my project, I brought along with me the stone. The guys helping (so wish I would have gotten his name to give credit where credit is due) told me that what I had was an old piece of granite from the old Milwaukee Streets! He said they used to put the granite down before the bricks. I asked if he had any of this and he of course showed me a huge pile of broken up street granite that was perfect for my project and matched perfectly! I thought I was living a dream :-)

They said the basement was sound, but recommended that the gutters might just be too small and were overwhelmed by the amount of rain we had. He recommended having Seamless Industries come out and check the gutters and downspouts. I don't know anything about basement waterproofing. McCoy could have done a bunch of unnecessary work and I wouldn't have blinked. But they were honest so I'll be calling them first thing when I do have something they can help with. Thanks, McCoy!
