An 8' piece of (very accessible) pipe would need to be replaced with estimate of $2500!!! I asked how they could justify that price - they said, "we're not as expensive as some companies." I said how much do you get an hour? $400/hour! AND $450 for 8' pipe. We said, no way!" Had job done with new pipe - and inspected by gas company - for $800. Buyer beware of these guys. They also offered to replace our "stack pipe" - drain pipe from upstairs fixtures - for $14K! Why? Because of a leak at the bottom of the stack in the basement. To be fair, though outrageously expensive, they have done decent work for us in the past.

The technician said he knocked (lie #1) and that he sat outside on my steps for over an hour (who has time to do that???) He snaked the drain and it got stuck. He tried with everything he had in him to pull it out. It took another good 30 minutes to free the snake. That evening I proceeded to my basement, and much to my dismay....the sludge from the drain in the yard was suddenly in my basement with a hole in the wall. I called back and was told that 2 technicians would be out before the end of the night to run a camera down the drain. The original tech came back and told me to wait until it dries to clean it up - WHAT?!?!? Needless to say..the other 2 never showed up either. The tech said he was off duty but was curious to see what happened. Next day (now 3 days after initial incident) was Sunday, we were told that a SUPERVISOR was coming out by the end of the evening. Guess who came? NOBODY! Monday - we were told that someone would call us (after 1pm) to tell us what time he would be there. They were at the door at 7:30am and my son had to leave for work, so tech could not stay - told us to call when someone would be home and he would be back. I called at 5:15pm and was told that someone was in route to my place. That is a complete contradiction to what I was told earlier, however I was close enough to home that I could get there quickly. Waited till midnight. Not only did they not show, they didn't call either. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! I WILL LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON THEM ANYTIME I CAN - it is UNACCEPTABLE and UNPROFESSIONAL

Next day machine was coming between 7 am and 7 pm. They showed up at 9 am to help. We have used them many times at my mothers and mother in law's house which are both from the early 1900's. Any problem they have run across (and there were many), they were able to handle easily. I've used this company since the owner was doing calls. They even saved us over 7,000 dollars by running the second sewage line through the basement rather than under the house. They are professional, friendly, and always clean up after themselves. When they say they are going to show, they always make it in the window given. I've even had them remove an old gas line from a chandelier so we could put up a new one (he had to find the ancient parts to use), which he did so promptly and finished the same day.

Surprised to not see very high ratings for this business here. We had them out for a yearly furnace…read morecheck and to check on the whole house humidifier which hadn't been working as well. Our technician Carl found some serious issues with broken and incorrectly installed pipes which were leading to leaking, with water and corrosion clearly visible. It was pretty clear the HVAC company who installed our furnace during a holiday emergency several years ago did a rushed and sloppy job. They emailed an estimate to do the work which was higher than we expected and resulted in us almost getting another opinion, but we liked them, felt they were honest and went with it. They got the appropriate parts, came back and ended up charging a couple hundred dollars less than the original estimate based on the findings being a bit less than expected when they started the work. We found them to be honest and thorough, and will use them in the future.
