Recently we called Devin Gomez there to ask about adding a whole home humidifier to our HVAC system. He was very helpful, informative, and the estimate reasonable so we scheduled the install. It took several visits and some research to connect their humidifier to our funky HVAC system with proprietary lockdowns. But Devin communicated perfectly the entire time to explain at each step and to keep us in the loop. Toby, the installation technician, was incredible. Understand he is a new hire to Solid... what a GREAT hire THAT was. He is kind, efficient, patient, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. He answered every question we had and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the humidifier. We were comfortable and confident in the entire process.

My wife met the service man and said he was done in less than an hour. The bill was $670. When I called to question the outrageous amount, I was told that they charge by the job, not by hourly rate. They said they would talk to the service man and get back to me. That never happened even after I left another message. The receipt also said the box he put in the wall was trimmed out. There was no trim of any kind and the service man had cut out more drywall and just left the piece sitting in the hole unattached. Now I have to patch the wall and trim it out myself. Obviously I am not pleased, and would not recommend Solid Plumbing to anyone.

(Recessing the hinges on a door so it would close properly). I had also hired him to secure my fence at my business, which I had bought metal rods for. He told me the metal rods weren't necessary (so I returned them) and that he would buy the materials needed to secure the fence. The fence blew down a week later, and he charged me to fix it again. This time with metal stakes. It blew down a third time, because he had not secured the ends of it w stakes, but instead used plastic zip ties. I also paid him to build an outdoor shower which looked great, except for a 2" gap that you could see right through to my clients naked bodies. He texted me three times to make sure I sent a check for the second job (that I paid him twice for) but failed to respond to any of my text complaining about the unresolved issues. Seems like a nice guy but does not complete or stand behind his work. I'm only writing this review because he won't respond to my texts regarding my latest fence failure.

I recently had him come out to repair a leaking toilet. It turned out to be a very minor job, took at most 5-10 mins. to do and he was already in the area at the time. After completion, he informed me his flat rate was $250 an hour but would reduce it to $125, which comes out to $25/minute. Gold Water now does not only plumbing, but heating and electrical. My advice is to do business with a person who only does work specific to your needs. Those that expand their business to include many other aspects charge more. For a person on SS, like me, it was sticker shock.
