Higgins knows Subaru. Dealership wanted $95 an hour, JUST to find out what was wrong with our 2000…read moreOutback. Jimmie diagnosed and repaired it., INCLUDING the parts for $60. He has a LARGE collection of Salvage vehicles for parts if you need them. Not all mechanics get better the longer they are in business... I believe Jimmie has.

This was always my go to place for repairing my Subarus for over 16 years. But since Jimmy paced…read moreaway. It has steadily gone down the toilet! Horrible non existent communication, so many cars stacked up around bldg you cannot even get into the lot. So much Junk Kevin literally cannot even get a car in the shop! Seven weeks ago I shipped my car to Higgins Automotive from Holden Beach, NC at a cost of $350, after talking to Kevin about a Bad oil leak on my 2008 Outback 3.0, Kevin was going to pull engine and reseal. After three Weeks waiting with no communication from Kevin, and Several phone calls later I finally got him on the phone. He was rude, but said he could only replace my engine with a JDM engine for around $3,000. I agreed, I NEEDED my car back. Waited two more weeks with no communication. Could not get Kevin on the phone. I drove Four hours to his shop. 10:30 am, shop was locked up. Cars and parts everywhere. I found my Outback on the very Outside edge of his parking lot, windshield covered in leaves and dust, not locked up, with my Only set of keys and key fob sitting on the drivers seat in plain view!!!! Anyone could have stolen my car. After about 25 minutes Kevin came walking up, acting strange. Told me I could just take my car and leave!!! I asked what was wrong was he Mad at me or something?? He turned back toward me and said " did I say I was mad at you??? And walked away! He refused to talk. Acting Really Strange!!! I have known Kevin for Many Years. He has Never acted like this!!! Good News thou! I took my Outback to Duckworth Automotive in Charlotte, a few miles away. I found people who knew and Loved Jimmy Higgins, former mechanics, and even Jimmy's own Son working tat Duckworth Automotive now!!!! It was Incredible, Very Professional! And one week later my Outback was repaired!!! Incredibly Awesome Experience!!!!! As Awesome as Higgins Automotive was when Jimmy was alive it is ten times more Horrible now!

Update: a friend wanted the vehicle to see if he could get it running in his spare time. A few…read moremonths later, he told me that I wouldn't believe what he found. He stated that he found three of the fuel injectors that weren't reconnected when Central Automotive was messing with the vehicle.. Once he reconnected the fuel injectors, the vehicle ran fine. So, basically we were out of vehicle due to the incompetence of this facility. If Tom, at Central Automotive, would have just checked his work, they should have found that and I would still have the vehicle today. Instead, I had to purchase another vehicle, which I did not want to do at the time. Update 2: Spoke with Tom today and his excuse for his lies about the vehicle not having oil in it was that he misspoke because according to the record he has it did have oil in it. His excuse for not reconnecting the 3 fuel injectors was because "we are human and humans make mistakes". But, honest, ethical humans would check their work to make sure they had not made a mistake when asked to do so. Which he would not. And, they would not suggest that I trade a vehicle that they knew had issues. He asked what I wanted from him. I said to sincerely apologize and consider at least a partial refund. He said that he fixed my vehicle (he made it worse) and I already gave him a bad review. So that was not an option. Very dishonest, unethical person!!!!

Been a customer for years. Good shop, nice folks but the garage guys are horrible! I kept my mouth…read moreshut hoping things would get better, didn't happen. EVERYTIME I get my car back it's filthy inside and everything moved. Today, my seat was slid backwards almost to the trunk. Mechanic left red dirt on door sill. Worst of all, I have black grease everywhere he touched because he couldn't be bothered to wash his hands. Oh yeah, two nice scuff marks on the door where he decided to kick open the door instead of get out the old fashioned way! Never again!
