After receiving (unsolicited) mailings from Kensington for years, I did a little research and…read morediscovered it wasn't a scam so decided to retain them for recovery of an old property tax overpymt. 50% fee seemed exorbitant, but then I don't have the time or expertise to pursue on my own. Ryne Saunders, my assigned Sr Taxpayer Advocate, could not have been more accommodating/patient/professional. I recommend him 100%. Now my claim has been turned over to another division for recovery. We shall see if Kensington's winning streak continues. If so, an extra unexpected $1,100 windfall will be greatly appreciated and well worth it!

Both…read moreused scare tactics to try and get us to sign immediately and pay, upfront, close to $10K to solve our tax issue. I had already done a lot of the work myself with the IRS and my gut was just not comfortable with what they were saying to me. I had also done enough research that I knew they were probably overpromising what they could do. So I looked up local top tax firms and found the The Tax Defenders. After speaking with Beth, who answered the phone, she told me Joe would be calling me back (yes, the owner of the firm). And he did. I walked Joe through what I had done to date and what others were telling me they could do and he told me I was correct. He told me I could hire them to handle what remained to be done, but I could also do it myself. I had already done most the work. He walked me through what to do next with the IRS, including what to say. We were on the phone for about an hour. He told me to call him back if I had questions. I was so pleasantly shocked. I waited on hold for 2 hours and 10mins that night for the IRS to answer and when they did I followed Joe's instructions and worked out a solution. If I ever have a tax situation that requires help in the future, my first and only call will be to the Tax Defenders (and for those review doubters out there I am not AI, I am a real person).
